Still playable even now, but not as strong and rewarding as she is in the past. Considering she didnt necessary have to aim and probably the easiest character to play, i guess now we can differentiate a good and bad mercy player.
When her heals are nerfed to Oblivion, them you take out her pistol and rage. Surprisingly effective. She can take out most Squishies in a few seconds of good aim. I especially love her in pve
Instead of the balance team feeling bad for Brigette, they instead decided to nerf her into the ground even more. Supports mains really deserve a break from balance changes.
As a tank main with a taste for DPS tank style characters, I approve of this message. If you mess with the healer, you mess with me. I think that should be an attitude in all teams. I always see them as the backbone of a team: It's no fun having to respawn every few seconds.

And if the rez wasn't a huge rez, which was the case the vast majority of the time - then that's even less reason to hide. It was not the most effective strat. It was the least. I played then, a lot. I know how to play old Mercy and win games. Never in a million years would I even dream of spending all my time hiding. There's a huge difference between hiding for a second or 2 to avoid certain death and actively crippling your team's chances of success. I used terrain, guardian angel,my team mates and when necessary my pistol to keep in there so I could heal.
Who else is watching this after Brigitte got nerfed hard again? Edit: Yeesh I thought the previous nerf was bad, now after the role que ptr update she only has 200 HP for her shield. As soon as she puts her shield up both her and her shield get obliterated.
It was all downhill with the Mercy Rework. After Blizzard butchered the single most popular hero, they set their sights on the other heroes. I'm so glad I quit this game ages ago. I wish Blizzard would undo at least some damage so I could play again but they won't

As for Rez being unfun and unfair, that's your opinion, I feel differently and I know MANY who feel the same. Maz Rez was unique, required you to think and was easily counterable (unlike Valk in every way). Changing Mass Rez to Valk alienated a lot of players and began a long decline for OW. I miss old OW a lot but I'm glad I got out when I did. Most of the reworks after Mercy continued the downward spiral of failure and the skins mostly sucked as well. And for that matter given the truly shitty way the devs responded to the Mercy rework (literally hundreds of thousands of angry posts and they ignore all of it and call it a "success" not once but twice) and others it's just a shame OW is still alive. No company should behave like that and still operate.

She had such a knowledge of medical science that she could even keep the ones she cared about from dying. The healer subclass of heroes is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be overpowered. She became so popular… the only thing she was afraid of was getting nerfed, which eventually, of course, she did. Unfortunately, she taught the metagame everything she knew, then Jeff Kaplan nerfed her into the fucking ground. Ironic. She could save others from death, but not herself.

I think the nerf to Brig is too much that they should probably have deleted her. The reduction of the shield health is the most impactful nerf to her in my opinion. Many people say Brigette is a healer hero so her shield shouldn't have been too strong at the first place. But the thing is Brigette is not a main healer. Her position should be a half tank half healer. That is her character, what makes her special as a support hero, just as other support heroes have their own edges. Otherwise, why don't we just have one healer hero and that's it. But now Brigette doesnt have a strong shield. Its health is much lower and it's reduced in size. That takes away her tanking ability. But people don't forget her healing power is comparatively weak too, which is so before the nerf and especially obvious after the nerf. So what does Brigette become? Not a tank not a healer? I think it's fair to nerf her instant armour pack and her bash. But isn't that enough? Overpowered as she might have been in the previous seasons, but cutting her shield, along side with all other nerfing, is overly done.
I've only played for a year (Brig main) but it seems from what I've heard, when they nerf heros they always take it too far...and they never undo any of it. Spot on with the shield. The other changes were fine, but the shield is pathetic now. Started at 600 I heard...down to 500, okay. But down to 200? Too far.

I think the nerf to Brig is too much that they should probably have deleted her.
The reduction of the shield health is the most impactful nerf to her in my opinion.
Many people say Brigette is a healer hero so her shield shouldn't have been too strong at the first place. But the thing is Brigette is not a main healer. Her position should be a half tank half healer. That is her character, what makes her special as a support hero, just as other support heroes have their own edges. Otherwise, why don't we just have one healer hero and that's it.
But now Brigette doesnt have a strong shield. Its health is much lower and it's reduced in size. That takes away her tanking ability. But people don't forget her healing power is comparatively weak too, which is so before the nerf and especially obvious after the nerf.
So what does Brigette become? Not a tank not a healer?
I think it's fair to nerf her instant armour pack and her bash. But isn't that enough? Overpowered as she might have been in the previous seasons, but cutting her shield, along side with all other nerfing, is overly done.

I've only played for a year (Brig main) but it seems from what I've heard, when they nerf heros they always take it too far...and they never undo any of it. Spot on with the shield. The other changes were fine, but the shield is pathetic now. Started at 600 I heard...down to 500, okay. But down to 200? Too far.

To be fair, Brigitte could fill all three roles nicely. Many teams put their best Tracer players on Brigitte for crying out loud.
She was OP now she is nerfed because she was too easy to play
+KB 36 It wasn't so much her being OP _(although she FUCKING WAS)_ that bothered me so much, but the sheer value you could get out of her for relatively little effort. Low skill high reward.
He finnaly got a hero that he could play well and have fun with. Doesn't mean anything I started this game wanting to be a widow main but I sucked, switched to support and now I'm playing high elo.
