Great Guide! Only thing I would add is that JIRA has a 'JIRA Upgrade Check' near the bottom of the "Manage apps" page that you can check pre-upgrade. This will tell you what apps will need updating, what apps are good as is, etc. But that is quiet the Jump for JIRA in one upgrade, great job!
Hi Ravi, This is very useful lecture for us as we are also upgrading our JIRA instance. Could you please confirm in the video you have mentioned "Application directory" right that means it is "Installation Directory" ?
Hello. Migrations are complicated and it requires lot of time to explain it in one video. I might start a separate series on this topic in future. Let me think about it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Ravi, At my work env jira is connected to activeDirectory LDAP also mail server. i'm planning to upgrade jira to latest version, once i upgrade jira to latest version do i've to manually configure activeDirectory and mail server again ? if not, how the upgraded jira version would know details about activedirectory and mail server details.
My colleague tried to upgrade jira prod but jira went down when we login as a user we are faced 500 error then after we disabled plugin in lynux now we can login but plugins are not showing please suggest how to fix its very critical

Hi sir,
If possible, Can you make video on Topic Jira to database configuration and taking backup restore?
Sure let me make a note of it.
@@ravs thanks
This is really helpful, can you upload the steps for Windows upgrade?
thanks for sharing! when you extracted to wrong dir i think it's quicker to use "mv" to move the dir rather then delete and extract again
Thanks for the info!

Hello! How does your Jira understand that it should look to the "current"? Is it set somewhere in the config?
Yes the service running Jira should point to this location.
