Watching this once again after reading "the meaning in the making" - what a great perspective to have. I also have those days of feeling that I am in a rut and I need to get out and have a shutter therapy, or just nature and being alone with my creative self kind of therapy. The fact that I know now where you started and seeing where you are now, and following you for the last couple of years through this - makes me believe I can do the same. Makes me feel inspired. Thank you Sean

Ditto, I have seen this before but listening to " The meaning in the Making" for the 3rd or maybe 4th time, I had to watch again for context, even though it is 01H13...worth it and breaths life into what the book was expanding on.

Excuse my language, but God Fucking Dammit this is an amazing piece of art.
    1. You're inspiring photographers to take risks.
    2. You're vulnerable in your weakness and showing a desire to improve on a skill
    3. You're reinvigorating your love for your craft.
    3. You're exploring a gorgeous land that I've never specifically heard of.
    4. You're informing on how to take landscape photos.
    5. You're showing that experienced photographers get in a rut and need inspiration.
    6. You're proving that just going out and shooting for yourself is key to staying inspired.
    7. You're still in love with your craft.
    8. You're taking gorgeous video on top of photos.
    9. You're tastfully and stylistically editing together video with music to document and show off gorgeous compositions.
    10. You're showing that sometimes we just have to sit and wait, which is basically impossible for an American entrepreneur.
I've found a new hero. Not only because you're good at what you do, but you're honest. And you've inspired me to be honest and put myself out there. Thank you, Sean.
    Forever subscribed.

hey I onyl have one lens at the moment 50 mm and im going to iceland so im probably going to miss out on some great landscape shots do you have any suggestions or videos showing what you can do with a starter lens that would be so inspiring tried finding a video with someone who has a basic starter lens can do but cant seem to find it

He actually just uploaded a video on how to take a 50mm and create beautiful panoramas fit for landscapes.

As XenoLiving said, watch my recent video in Gozo. All those images were shot with a 50mm, and some of them were stitched for wider shots. Then watch my Landscape Editing video to learn how to stitch them together. Good luck.

What did I just stumbled upon purely accidentally. Brilliant...just brilliant. It's like watching a movie about the heart and soul of modern digital photography. It's like this video has been directed, produced, edited, mixed and the script written by a bunch of genius people. Just amazing.
Thank you so much for your time and effort.

I love how much you love learning, man. It's inspiring to see a professional like yourself constantly stretching yourself and improving your art. I feel like mastery doesn't exist in this form of art because of how much there is to learn and grow into. I'm addicted to your videos and, as a brand new photographer, your videos give me the hunger to form relationships and shoot and try and learn and fail and learn more.

You’re such an inspiration. Photography had always intrigued me yet I had never really taken it up in a way to tell myself that yes, I really love this thing and I want to do it until about 5months back when my wife gave me a canon m50. And each day since then, it has been such a constant love, eagerness to learn a little more everyday and throughout all these tour videos and photos have been a revelation. So yes, a shout out of thanks to you.

Greetings from the future, Sean! As a Canadian living in the U.S. the word "awesome" gets over-used. I've taken, here, to using the word you brits use, "brilliant!" People here look at me askance. LOL So... BRILLIANT AND AWESOME! Your results were worth the effort that you put into it! Nice editing!
A couple of decades ago, for a few years I had gotten away from my love of photography and sold my equipment and bought a cheap, point n shoot Minolta APS film camera... busy with house n kids. After a divorce, I felt lost and decided to buy camera gear again... that step had saved my life. Although, many years ago, I taught photography and had a full colour darkroom, I'd forgotten what a "mind-saving" process just going out and shooting was! Fast forward to a few years ago and, again, because of a health issue, I couldn't even carry a DSLR around my neck, which was HORRIBLE because bird/nature photography was my thing and that meant a long, heavy lens. My health has improved but I've since learned how lovely it is just to walk about with a small "street" camera. In these present times of sociopolitical turmoil, the MINDFUL process of photography helps to keep us photographers sane... LITERALLY!
Thanks for the encouragement, bro! I'm now on Instagram because of people like you. Take care!

I love how your videos are very reflective and in particular how you very articulately relate your personal insights to the development of the art. As a true master educator, who comfortably takes on the role of learner as well, you then deftly move the the focus from yourself and then enable us, the apprentices (and masters as well) to take away the learnings and inspire us to practice. This is truly wonderful and inspirational viewing and a masterpiece in educating and training. Thank you Sean!

It is hard to break out of your comfort zone in favor of growth. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you and keep them coming.

I would agree with some other commenters that most of your final shots look a bit overcooked--particularly, the sharpening and colors feel excessive.
But I also think you should ignore comments like mine if that's the look you wanted and you enjoyed the process. We should all be following your advice and your example rather than criticizing you in UA-cam comments.

Hey Sean, great video! Just rewatched it after a year or so. I'm planning a trip to the British Isles and Snowdonia is one of the goals. That graveyard or church you visited, which one is that? I've set my eyes on St. Michael's just outside of Snowdonia, but that one you visited looked really nice and moody too (if it's not the same).

I've bounced from one YT photographer to another over the last few months as if skipping from stone to stone. I finally feel like Ive landed with both feet firmly on the ground. I'm too inexperienced to pass any kind of judgement on your work and wouldn't want to. But your gift is plain to see. I think your street photography is truly amazing. I think you're a film maker in the making too. It's your philosophy more than anything though that I find so inspiring and reassuring. Your thought processes are always engaging.

One of the things that I like about this video is the contact with nature. For me landscaping means meditation, relaxation. There is no worries and time. Another reason that I liked the video is experimentation. You play it by ear. Sometimes you might get good or bad results, at the end you learn from your mistakes, but mainly the contact with mother nature. Enjoy the moment.

Thank you so much for being such an inspiring person. I'm not doing photography for a long time but your videos and pictures inspire me to go on and to improve, so I can shoot some that I am really proud of. Thank you again, and bravo, I (even if I'm far from good right now) found your work absolutely amazing.

As a former Outward Bound instructor I truly enjoyed your first quote about ships in the harbor. I used it quite often with my student...

How the hell does this have dislikes?! This is a fantastic video. The drone shots, the creativity, the commentary, the images. All stitched together to make a powerful message. Thank you Sean, for reminding us why we love photography!

This was the first video of yours that ever popped up in my recommendations and I’ve been an avid admirers ever since.
When I first saw this I had just started doing freelance and was afraid of becoming complacent (which I did eventually) and wanted to find new challenges.
Now I’m happy to say I’ve found a few diverse styles I love, and try to challenge myself as often as I get a chance.

This is a very inspiring video, thanks a lot for this. You took some great shots!
I'd like to say that I love your vlog-style presentation: this format of tutorial is very refreshing and entertaining, your voice and manner of talking is very calming, the drone shots and the time lapses make it a lot better, and Snowdonia is a very beautiful place.
