Frank Thomas wasn't just your typical power hitter. He was one of the best pure hitters in the history of the game. I ask anyone to find a ten year stretch from a right handed hitter that matched up with Frank's 90-99 seasons . As great of a hitter as he was, his knowledge and command of the strike zone was not of this planet. It was well known in his prime if Frank didn't swing at it, it wasn't a strike, and was rarely called as such. There hasn't been anyone like him since he retired. And with the game how it is and how it's being taught today, where it's acceptable to strike out 200 times and hit .200 as long as you get your 30/100, I'm not sure we'll see another any time soon.
I ask anyone to find a ten year stretch from a right handed hitter that matched up with Frank's 90-99 seasons. Ok, you asked: Jimmie Foxx, Joe DiMaggio, Rogers Hornsby, Al Simmons. Would put A-Rod there, but he was juicing and Frank was not. I know Frank was a great hitter, but I would stack those guys right there with him.
Thomas was one of my favorites growing up......'01-'10 Pujols is just better. Will say, I really wish we would've gotten to see Thomas full season numbers in 1994. His All Star break numbers were out of this world.
I still can't believe ESPN kept inviting Chris Berman back to annoy fans watching the Home Run Derby for so many years. "Back back back back back" on every single time homer. What a tool!
The HR off the Will Clark sign, based on the estimated exit velocity and projected landing area if it had not been obstructed by the stadium walls, is considered to be one of the longest shots ever recorded on tape. Based on those aerodynamic projections, it is thought that it would have reached over 600 to 650 feet if it had actually landed on its own. Wow, fucking, wow!!!!!
Thomas and Griffey were the Beckett Hot List kings of the 90s! Frank topped the Beckett Hot list charts for 34 straight weeks! And Griffey of course was THE player of the 90s and I would've loved so much for him to have starred in a baseball themed Space Jam!
I’m glad you’re back and posting again! These type of videos (Derby’s, significant home runs with context, etc.) are my lifeblood, and I’m glad you’re able to provide them!
I seen a side view video of the one he hit 525. When it hit that sign at base of upper deck the ball was just starting to descend. Sorry would have went further than 525

Dude yes. He is one of; if not the best.

Agreed. #35 was the best
Frank was the best, best for power and contact, had great eyes and plate discipline. The right handed Barry Bonds

1994 Frank Thomas was an absolute force
Guys the size of Thomas rarely hit for average. Thomas was such a great hitter, patient as evidenced by his walks A Tour de Force of offense.
This was awesome! Loved watching Frank crush it in the 90s.
Imagine Frank and Bo Jackson in the same lineup at Auburn
He did a reenactment of his cameo in Mr. Baseball.
The two stances I loved to mimic growing up were from Frank Thomas and Ken Griffey Jr.
They don’t call him “The Big Hurt” for (NOTHING). ⚾️👍
The Big Hurt. Put on a show. In Pittsburgh 3 River Stadium. 2 time MVP 92 and 93. ⚾🤳🏿👏🏿🤜🏿🤛🏿
Perfect ratio of strength and bat speed.
A healthy Gancarlo Stanton is the only guy currently capable of hitting homers like that.
3 Rivers Stadium actual put a star on the upper balcony where Frank hit that 520 ft bomb. Longest ball ever hit in that stadium

Joe DiMaggio hit one 26 miles.
Did u hear how loud it came off the bat?
Wow that shot at the Astrodome in left center was a true bomb.
Love the crack of the bat “CRAAAACK”

I was there that day as a young child watching Frank hit those bombs. I can still remember them. Loved it. In Pittsburgh
And he didn't need no 'roids like that swollen head Me Bear asshold Barry Bonds! No sir, Frank was like Popeye, he ate his spinach every day!
NO FUCKING WAY!!!. IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR 20 YEARS!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

1:30 Longest homerun I've ever seen.
Still think galarragas slam in Florida was the longest to left that I've ever seen

Something in water in Georgia
You can put it on the Booooaaaarrrrrd Yeees!!!!!!
Good Lord he was mashing the ball! Imagine if he hit that with a juiced ball or aluminum bat. The ball would still be flying.
Watching this makes me realize how much the game has grown, there are a bunch of empty seats there in 94, not today.
Also not in prime time back then. Now it's a bloated cash machine. Still fun, but so stretched.
Dude, your channel is better than sex😌😌😌😌
