How ironic is it that you can’t trust a brand called Too Faced lol 😂 ever since it was sold, I swear the quality has continued to drop. This brand is on my no-buy list.
Agree overall, but their BTW Matte foundation has done the best on my very oily 49yo skin plus matched my skin b/c of undertone range (winter shade of Snow Neu-Cool, summer I've added Pearl for what little tan I get). Benefit is one brand I just can't see the hype about.
Italian Spritz was genuinely great tho, if they could keep that energy up for every launch I think they could really bring back excitement for the brand. As it stands they’ll have one good launch and then like 6 crappy ones.
I hope you had a great vacation! Missed you this weekend. Enjoy the favorites & fails this month. Empty of the month is a great addition to your video! Much love!
I agree about the Ole moisturizer....ive been getting it at tjmaxx in a pack from xmas time with other products for only 14.99. I bouvht a few. I think its worth it at that price. It wears really well under my makeup and dries down super quick when im in a hurry before work!
Mature skin havers: That Ole Hendrickson cream is actually worth the $ (and I'm cheap AF) & gives an instant aesthetic result and long term skin health improvement. I've trained my ipsy box to be mostly skincare, so I've tried A LOT of expensive creams in the past year. Many were delightful but not worth $50+. I do layer moisturizers (very dry skin & climate), so I also use the Gold Bond face line with urea, which is high end quality & texture at a very low price. The Ole Hendrickson is the only cream that can replace the Gold Bond in my routine AND it has a blurring effect - you can definitely use it as both face cream (over your SPF in the daytime) and smoothing primer/spackle. It's just the dimethicone I think, but I look a bit younger when I wear it, which is just a fun moment in skin prep, def boosts confidence BEFORE makeup goes on. Since I do sometimes need serious barrier repair, I actually don't use it every day. I think it's fairly priced but not in my budget, and the gold Bond is sooo good & so affordable that I'm not mad about giving up the Ole after this one, but I do save it for days when I need to look extra good or times when my skin needs serious barrier repair. It's almost a balm texture, so a little goes a long way. I pat it onto my fingers, I never scoop it.
Not arguing w Jen, but I think her skin is too "immature" (beautifully youthful) to see instant visible results, but my lined & textured 53 yr old skin absolutely looked immediately better. I wasn't intending to contradict Jen, but I can't edit comments lol...
As plagued by freckles as I was as a child, it baffles me that someone would pay money for any product that gives them freckles. I see different people who have done a fantastic job with their makeup, only to ruin it with freckles. I hope this fad is short lived. Mary’s palette is beautiful. The swatches can’t compare to how they look in person. And they blend great! Wore at my great niece’s wedding in mid July, temperature in the 90s, humid. Half way through the reception, I checked my makeup. The only thing unaffected by the weather? My eyes. The rest of the makeup disintegrated, but the eyes lasted the night.
Regarding the euphoria color changing blush. This is precisely why I am loyal to the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes. They do not fade the entire day. This is what sells the product, this what makes me be so loyal and this is why I don't even try other blushes because why mess with perfection? They also have scads of colors to choose from!
If you don't usually like Matte liquid lipsticks and you end up getting one, for whatever reason, try putting a light layer of lip balm underneath. It works for me at least.
Love the Strength Trainer, too! I got it in a set from Sephora with the eye cream, which I also loved! It's almost gone, and I would buy it in a set again but not alone/full price.
OMG I totally love that strength trainer too! Like you I don’t know if it’s doing anything but I love how it made my skin feel. OMG I’m #2??? I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that you love it and I’m glad you finally got it!! Thank you so much Jen! I hope that you had a fantastic vacation. It looked like you did. 😊
I have a newfound appreciation for the Strength Trainer moisturizer. I recently had an allergic reaction and my face was so swollen, red and itchy. On day it started peeling off and my face was so dry and tight. So I got out my La Mer cream and even it was making it more red and irritated. So then I pulled out a jar of Strength Trainer and ahhh! It was so nice and moisturizing and non-irritating. So so good! I actually found that it temporarily fills in some of the lines on my forehead, which never happens with moisturizer.
That italin spritz palette was made in italy and its weird . The shimers never picked up on the brush . The cosmic crush palette is the same format as their best selling nudes palette. The Rim is there to prevent crumbly breakage Something ABH should have done with their cosmic palette
Oh my gosh I had a totally different experience with the CP blush! It's my new favorite. I find it to be incredibly buildable while still looking natural. My husband and I just went on a long hike in 95 degree heat and when I came home the blush was still noticeable! On the other hand, that Youthforia blush oil is really pretty, but because it's an oil it always messes up my base makeup :(
I LOVE the OH Strength Trainer moisturiser! I've never had so many unsolicited comments about how great my skin looks as since I started using it - I just chucked away my third empty, which is pretty much unheard of! 😂 It's spendy, but it's worth it!
Oddly enough I also got the Charlotte tillberry mascara in my mystery box but I love how natural it looks on my lashes. I have very long, thick but sparse lashes and for work I just want sometimes I just need a little color on the lashes. However I will say it's a little ridiculous to pay that much for a "natural looking" mascara I'm glad I got it in the box.
Thank you for the Too Faced mascara review!! I was on the fence about it but holding off for more info/reviews since it’s so expensive. I’m considering the new Huda Beauty one though - I’ve seen more positive response to that one.
LOOOOOOOOVE your eyeliner!!! I couldn't stop staring at your eyes during this whole video! Then you mentioned the eyeliner and I'm like..."I need that now." So gooood!!!!!!!
The last things I bought from Too Faced are their Peach palette and peach translucent powder. They’ve been on my no-buy list since. I picked up the Benefit Cookie highlighter as part of the Cheek Stars Reunion face palette. It’s really good for pasty pale skin. 🥰😍
I loved the too faced cosmic crush palette. The Italian spritz was so bad I returned it. That one had gummy feeling shimmers . The cosmic crush TF shimmers are fabulous only one is meh. What palette s out there are all perfect shades ,lol. Nada
I think it’s just our nature to want the opposite of what we have. If you have curly hair you straighten it. If you have straight hair you perm it, if you are pale you want a tan lol.
Love the empties idea! On a completely different note, I wanted to thank you. My girlfriend and I went to Locally Crafted as part of our last date, and I introduced her to Mad Marshmallows. She loved them so much, that she ordered some from the website. She's allergic to cinnamon, and it means the world to me that you reached out and confirmed with her that her marshmallows were cinnamon-free. Thank you again.
Jen! The strength trainer is an amazing makeup primer…I use that moisturizer morning and night (super dry skin) and I just put foundation on over it. I have heard from oily skinned people that it works as primer for them as well. If you get a chance, try it as primer!❤
I have a Sydney Grace package that is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I ordered the Tropicolor and Heaven on Earth palettes. The Blessed palette has caught my eye, but I wasn't sure if it would be too neutral. I've really been digging an earthy + ocean vibe lately, and I love turtles. It may sound silly but the turtle on the Heaven on Earth palette probably pushed me over the edge to buy the palette s during the sale. I've been really enjoying pairing palettes lately, so I chose the Tropicolor palette to go with the Heaven on Earth palette because I thought they would pair together beautifully.
It wasn't that you got a dud, I remember once trying the CT Full fat lashes mascara and was soo pissed that I payed full price for it. I barely got any product onto my lashes and the product that stuck to lashes flaked off during the day. I remember finding so many dry flakes during the day around my eye area. I believe this is one of her OG products and I think it's formula that she should just retire at this point.
I got the Blessed palette in the mail yesterday and I regret not buying it full price because they deserve every cent of profit from that palette. It is just gorgeous. As for too faced I have the yummy gummy and hot chocolate (too hot?? Whatever the name is) from last holiday and I love them both. I didn’t get spritz because I have Palm Springs dreams still and the colors are close. But I got the original born this way palette in this packaging twice - once I bought it and once they sent to me by mistake - and I gave them both away. I agree that they should just have them tested, but sometimes social media people expect a lot. So maybe test it with someone who likes a lot of pigment and someone who likes normal eyeshadow.
It may just be me but it kinda looks like you're making the freckles really big. They kinda look like sunspots. If you apply them smaller, they may look cuter.
I’ve never gotten along with Too Faced; the eyeshadows never worked on my eyelid skin - went very weird indeed. Of course I knew very little about makeup back then 😂. I also had a small urban decay palette and I thought it was pretty meh tbh. I’d rather use something effective and cheap. Currently pondering profusion seeing as I can get that on Amazon uk.
I thought you mentioned the Benefit Cookie highlighter awhile ago? I work at Ulta, and I went to try it on bc you mentioned it. But maybe it was another video I watched?! Lol.
My bestie does too, I get them pretty regularly in my ipsy and she gets all of them, as they feel like an allergic reaction to me haha. She's very into the Lawless Clean AF one right now, I've gotten like 3 in a year...

Mel Thompson loved the Cookie highlight.

Surprised you thought $51 for a moisturizer is expensive but not $32 for a black marker eye liner.
