I was in the crowd when this happened when I was a kid. The whole stadium practically exploded with cheers, yelling, you name it. Cameras cant do what I experienced justice back then, but Im glad future generations will forever be able to see this incredible moment in Monster Jam history!

I Have attended M J shows in Jax for over 20 yrs. Have yet to hear/see a crowd go totally insane as that night. I remember yelling "HOLY SH** !!!" when Cam pulled this off completely unscripted. Backflips are almost commonplace now, but I 'll always remember being there to see the 1st competition backflip and seeing M/T history.
Man I remember watching this as a 10 year kid and my brother and I were arguing about how hard it was to flip and he said impossible then this happened both our reaction were priceless
I was 7 years old when this happened, and I am proud to say that I was there at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium (that’ll always be the name to me lol) when it happened. I wish I could travel back in time to witness this again.
this is the one and only monster jam i’ve ever been to, i was 5 years old and remember running across the busy highway with my family because there was no parking. i will never forget the moment i saw him do that, reminds me of simpler times.

It was just something cam saw in the track so he tried it. He purposely did it after his time was up because he knew there was a good chance he wasn't going to land it. Ryan Anderson talks about all of this in an interview.

Lee O Donnell was actually the first ever frontflip. Tom Meent's was close but it over rotated before landing on the front wheels then did a summersault therefore it did not count.
And this move changed the world of Monster Jam forever.
Now you most of the time need to do it to win it's not special anymore
