All of the fret positions (fret-per-string) are movable. It can be "tuned" to any scale (microtonal, macrotonal, 12-tone Western, etc.) or temperament. In this video, it is tuned to a specific temperament.

"Well-tempered" tuning schemes like this (also called circulating temperaments) were actually very common from the Baroque era all the way up to the early 19th century (when it was finally practical to tune exact equal temperament). There are still 12 tones, but they are distributed unequally, so that different chords/keys have different "colors", and several composers took full advantage of this.

You can tune it to any key just like the baroque guitars by moving the frets.
