Totally agreed. And it's kinda difficult to describe these emotions with the precise words.
Thou it was a huge hit during in the 80's, but if you listens to the rhythm of this tune, it kinda gives a type of 'sensation' or 'imagination' about a 'cool sci-fi future world'. Also the song will 'transfer' you into an imagination world, her voice is another unique one's.
It's the very same with Modern Talking's tracks, the rhythm and voice of Thomas Anders, his voice is very 'mystical' and you won't get bored, their tracks / songs sounds very 'futuristic'.
Besides this Self Control, there are a few more are also the great one's - Gloria, The Lucky One, Hot Night.
I'm at South East Asia, but often I felt weird or different with millions of others.
'Cause during the day I'm asleep, and night is my time, my world. Because I'm doing online work for a foreign organization. And the people I can think of are not asleep during the night like me are those living on the other side of the world from where I'm at.
This song Self Control the lyrics it really gotten me damp right, like these few phrases sings : "Oh the night is my world", "It's the night time that flatters", "In the night no control", "You take my self, you take my self control, You got me livin' only for the night", "Another night, another day goes by", "I never stop myself to wonder why", "I, I live among the creatures of the night", "I'm living in the forest of a dream", "I know the night is not as it would seem", "I must believe in something, so I'll make myself believe it this night will never go".
Except I'm not living in a forest 😂 but a high rise condominium at level 38th, seeing a far the city's night view every night. Especially on certain moment I'm taking a break and having a mug of warm tea while sitting at my balcony in the night of 3 or 4 am, viewing the city's night view or looking down on the below highway's night streets and street lights with fewer cars passing by, and yet playing this song with my harmon kardon onyx studio 6, it's a kind of 'weird' feeling. Just like it sang "I live among the creatures of night" ... Damp right.
