JID would be wild cuz they got such diff styles but JIDs got good slower songs - i think we need a joey album or a madlib produced one like what he did with al on voir dire
first time i heard the single 'earl' (well got sent the vid by a friend of my brother) and was like 'this is like hearing slim shady for the first time and if he's 16 (which he was then) i was like a 21yr old rapper then (a 35 yr old rap teacher/rapper now too haha) and was like 'if he's atleast as good as i am at 16 he's gonna be insane, just never saw the evolution from shock rap to the insane artistry he comes with now and how fast he matured once seperated from odd future etc (tho the Doris OF vibe doesnt stop it from being a classic to me still, too many great songs, burgundy/hive/saturday/chum/molasses etc
fwiw whats so impressive is that its not that hard to rap random violent shit but if ur really tryna say something u need to have a big vocab to make up for the limited scope, cant just put random bravado bars into a current/post 'kid earl' song, it'd sound wild...
These videos always just end up getting me heated. How does 'all' and 'watch' rhyme there bro. Like when you say it with a british accent it works, but he's not even trying to rhyme those. And then you miss the actual "all" scheme with the "I's". Like it's impressive enough without reaching like that.
Want sum Earl collabs with Isaiah Rashad, Ab Soul , joey badass , JID and Saba

voir dire was my #2 AOTY just ahead of Scring the Hoes Vol.1 by peggy and Danny Brown at #3 and just behind #1 which was Aesop Rock's 'I.T.S.'
Really unsure in places, but confident. Confident in a lack of insurance. Yeah, that's it. Earl's cool.
