He's a living legend and the greatest of respect to him
Larry Holmes…legend 🥊
Larry always had a chip on his shoulder...Lol He's the only person I've heard to say he wasn't impressed with Lennox Lewis as a fighter...Lol, but make no mistake, Larry Holmes is an all time great. Also, in his day they fought 15 rounders. Many fighters today would have problems going 15 rounds
He's getting Lennox and Tyson Fury mixed up bless him
Yeah, but I get why he’s not impressed. He fought the best of the best coming from an era that will never be duplicated or matched. He knows in his prime that he’d put all these guys today to shame. He’s one of those guys who can do that respectfully.
@@manamal769Oh cmon mate he got beat by Michael Spinks who was a fly heavyweight
@@eltoneagle8136 light heavyweight, and so what? How many greats lost fights? It happens! What’s your point? Spinks was one of the greats!
@@eltoneagle8136 Spinks was no mug. And Holmes was definitely on the decline at that point
The only boxer who Larry Holmes respects is Larry Holmes
Ha very true, certainly got a heck of a chip on that shoulder 😂
One of my FAVORITES
Love Larry. Tough bloke. And his JAB!
Always good to see these old timers out & about. Ngl one of the lowkey underrated advtatges of saudis is flying out all these legends who would just be rotting away in the history books despite being alive. Pormoters in the UK/USA should invite & pay for their expenses to come out more often ngl. Let's make the most of em whilst they're still here man! 🤟🥊❤
With a net worth of 18 mil, I think he could have afforded a plane ticket to Saudi.
What a fighter 👊 great to see you well larry I can’t believe he’s not seen these 2 fights
Larry only is fan of himself he don’t care about anyone else 😂 Rare u see him give any kind of compliment to anyone.
Larry Holmes said he doesn't know those guys 😅
😂
😆
Larry only follows Larry .
Larry is so under noticed.. He is literally Joe Louis meets Muhammad Ali stylistically.. Whenever I’m depressed or having a bad day I just put on a dvd of his career set.. He’s almost like Picasso in the ring
Top 5 heavyweights of all time. Greatest left jab in boxing. 🥊🥊
Larry Holmes a legend in his own right 🥊🥊
Best Left Jab in heavyweight history..
That's a fact! Larry also had one of the best chins in boxing history. If you haven't seen it, check out the punch that Earnie Shaver's landed on Holmes in the 9th round of their 2nd fight, sending him to the canvas. I think their are only a handful of fighters that could have survived that punch and continued to fight...
@@tactical1224 he did indeed have a terrific chin, but his powers of recovery were even more impressive.👍
Holmes had 20 successful title defenses.
Holmes record speaks for itself. Just a shame he fought Ali & the end of his career. And met a peak Tyson when Holmes was at the end of his career. The 9th round against Witherspoon is one of the greatest in Heavyweight history.
The Easton Assassin🥊🥊
They talk about fury getting up from wilders punch watch Larry getting up after Ernie shavers hit him the hardest puncher of all times
Larry doesn't know what day it is.
Larry is one of the most underrated heavyweights
I think lennox Lewis would have beaten him
Never
amazing boxer shame he never fought foreman
Not in his opinion 😂
@@TheMiketyson9 It would have been a good fight, but a prime Larry Holmes would have gotten the W in this one, especially if it was scheduled for 15 rounds as Holmes was accustomed to fighting. Lennox could get fatigued late in his fights. Keep in mind that a 43 year old beat Ray Mercer,(an outstanding fighter in his own right) in 1992. Four years later, Lennox at 30 years old, had a rough time getting the win over Mercer...
Larry was a great fighter in his era but he's always come across bitter to the guys who came after him. Like before he fought Tyson he said Tyson wasnt a good fighter etc and even after Tyson smashed him to bits he still didn't give him the respect after the fact
👏👏👏👏👏
I would have liked to seen a fight between Holmes and Tommy Morrison. Holmes at 43 years old beat Mercer by UD about 6 months after Mercer's war with Morrison
Best left jab next to ali
Lmfaooooo 🤣💦 He said Lennox Lewis never impressed him.. I have to agree with him. Neither does anyone else for that matter. If you’ve been around long enough and have seen over 40 years of boxing, you’d probably say the same thing too. I’ve seen it all when it comes to boxing. It’s just the next generational talent that’s keeping the sport alive. That’s why guys today are always compared to someone from the past because it’s all been done already.
Larry getting Lennox and Tyson Fury mixed up bless him
I don’t think so. Lennox wasn’t impressive. Tyson was at first but that died out.
@manamal769 of course he means Fury. Larry's last words were "I wish him the best don't get hurt"
@@djhus82 lol 😂 yeah his mouth was moving faster than his mind. He really doesn’t care for any of them though.
Took a lot of punishment in his day and it shows mentally, he’s not altogether with it, but he is a legend of the sport so hats off to him. He’s wrong about Lennox, dude was a monster and beat everyone he fought.
He’s not wrong for not being impressed. That’s his personal feeling, he can’t be wrong about that. You can’t tell someone that they’re wrong for not being impressed by someone or something.
Shame! It is sad to see Holmes in this condition. He fought way too long and took far too many punches to the head during his career! He sounds as though he has some brain damage. However, he is 74 so I have to cut the man some slack! He also definitely makes it into the heavyweight top ten list of all time. A great fighter with tremendous skill (especially that left jab of his) and the heart of a lion to go with it!
shows his age here but 1 best boxers ever
@eddieworkman5855 I'm the same age. The difference is, Larry Holmes took a lifetime of hard punches from the hardest men on the planet.
@vestibulate shame he never fought foreman
Bitter Mr “Me, Myself and I”
he has this grudge against other fighters like very egotistical and his brain doesnt seem to be all there but legend he is 🎉
I agree with most of what you are saying but he is 74 years old speaking on the man's brain at that you are lucky if you get that age.
I think he might be drunk or buzzed. He didn’t used to consume alcohol, but I saw him not that long ago and he was articulating himself clearly. If not, a lot has changed in 6 months. That being said, he’s always been a bit of a hater. He was a great champ that didn’t get the recognition of fighters like Marciano, Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, and Lewis. Some people outright hate him for beating Ali.
@@LobotomyMeat
Maybe the effects of jetlag
@@drlovevero 74 isn't that old.
He was like that even when he was young. Wasn’t known for his class lol
3rd best HW of all time
I got to put Foreman higher personally
I disagree, Larry Holmes was champion for 7.5 years he made 20 successful defensiveness and I thought he did a better job against a prime Holyfield than George, his championship record is outstanding by comparison and he got up from knockdowns to win which George never did.
@@crabb9966 ja wasn’t a champion for as long as
No worries, and I have too correct myself Foreman did get up to win against Ron Lyle in what was an extraordinary display of courage.
I LIKE SOUP.....SOUP TASTE GOOD!!
Does he know what is written on his cap?
His nickname
Whys he there if hes never seen them fight before lol
To remind everyone they aren’t Larry Holmes when undisputed gets awarded . Lol
I always keep a grudge against this person i would tell him about it one day
Larry is losing it, but aware enough to know that his opinion is not as relevant now because he doesn't keep up with it. You gotta respect that!
However, I would value if he watched more fights, if he wanted to. His expression is getting harder, but I think he could sharpen up if given some time. I don't blame him for not caring though. Time spent with family is more important.
GOAT
The greatest left jab of all time
Think its time for his bed bath
Larrys brain is slowing dooowwwwwnnn
Andy Ruiz Jr. needs at the very least a couple of times to fight one champion because Whomever wins Fury vd. Usyk is going to look like a punk if they don't fight more folks than Wilder or Joshua, whichever has not been fought.
We don't know other flat footed Europeans Eastern or Western and believe fighting them is padding a record like Fury did in a trilogy with a one-armed pencil legged opponent.
That's not old age showing itself in his slurred speech. Holmes took a million punches.
Larry trained with Ali and Frazier. He's not easily impressed with a fighters skills. The fact that some is a champion means nothing to Larry. He just compares the skills of today's fighters to the fighters that fought in his day and gives his honest opinion.
his cognitive ability is impaired, he also said he didnt really watched current fighters(so how can you judge them if you dont know them) and he was always a big ego guy(cocky statements against Klitchko brothers at age of 60, cocky against Tyson, said he would demolish George Foreman and also disrespectful towards Ali)
Larry Holmes has always got something bitter and resentful to say about the next generation. 🤣
Great champion but a sore loser lol.
He was never a loser in his prime. And he fought far better competition than anyone today. Just because he’s not impressed by any of these guys doesn’t make him sore. If you’ve seen over 40 years of boxing, you’d probably say the same thing.
@@manamal769 The Heavyweight division in the 90's was stacked. Even top 10 guys like David Tua and Razor Ruddock were decent.
@@daveyjones18 yeah, but it wasn’t the best error.
@@manamal769 It's considered the "silver era" of heavyweight boxing. The golden era obviously Ali, Frazier etc.
It's not history's fault that Larry ruled over a slump in the division. Like Rocky Marciano, he fought the best that was around. Holmes has lots of great wins under his belt, great career. Don't see what he's so bitter about. One of the greats of all time 😎
@@daveyjones18 well, it’s probably because he didn’t get the respect and praise like he feels he deserves. But make no mistake, he is one of the all time greats and he fought the best of the best .. and won! Also, if he was not impressed by Lewis and fighters today, that’s personal and he has good reason to not be. Neither am I. In over 40 years of boxing I don’t rate no one of this era as impressive nor better than the elite boxers of Ali’s era. Not even the silver era of the 80s to 90s.
Prime Holmes beats em both
Nah, he never beat anyone. Over hyped and bitter.
Water is wet
Easily
@@lyrickonershouldn’t you be somewhere in a corner talking to the wall goofy?
Larry cant get over never being undisputed.
Still a top 3 heavyweight of all time
@T3akkeydhd I think Ali, Louis, Foreman have better records. Larry is 4 or 5 imo
🦵end
Holmes have watched them both fight before, so don't know why he said otherwise. Anyway, Holmes would have cleaned out this weak era.
He is still irrevelant more than ever.
Lennox never impressed him 😂
I still don't think Lewis beat Evander. So I agree with Holmes.." Lennox never impressed me" enough either.
😂
People calling him bitter are wrong, his mental state doesn't seem to be in the right place due to constantly getting hit on the head so that has had a negative impact on his personality. Sad.
He does have diabetes, though, so perhaps some of his sluggishness is due to that. But yeah, this is the worst that I've ever seen Holmes; he seems incoherent here at times. Could also be jet lag or even alcohol.
He was like this even when he was young. He’s a lover of himself and a hater of everyone else lol I find it funny myself but doesn’t exactly represent class.
Larry was a great champ but always talks garbage,
Doesn’tnthat make him obsolete
I dont like him
He’s a bitter
You don’t have to like him, nobody cares about your opinion or feelings.
So bitter
Lennox would destroy him.
I thought that was just me. He’s always had a shit attitude
@@y0caza798 i can guarantee you.... That if they ask him after the fight is finished on the stadium - what Is your opinion.. He Is gonna say I didn't watch the fight.🤣🤣🤣🤣 It is so sad to see.
Ali, Foreman, Lewis Always class.
Yeah, he seems to think putting other fighters down, increases his status. Sad.
@@y0caza798 especially after the Saudis flew him out, probably covering all of his expenses, and paying him a fee just to show up, and he has this type of attitude? "I don't know these guys" lol. sure
@@thewedge8823 Holmes is pretty rich I think
Larry Holmes was 48-0 but who was the other 40 apart from Ali and Mike Tyson. Boxing is a trash sport haha. I was a massive fan but c’mon.
Boxing is a trash sport yet you are here commenting. Go watch UFC, two dudes rubbing eachother on the ground.
I mean he beat 11 world champions in his career but it was a weird era like the Ali, Joe Frazier era had just come to and end and it was a slow period for heavyweight boxing and fighters like Duran,Leonard,Hagler and Hearns from the lower weights were the big focus in the sport. And then Tyson came and it blew up again and then we had other great fighters like Lewis, Bowe and Holyfield as well shortly after to kick off that era of the division.
Guys like him Ali, Frazier, shavers would've had todays pretenders for Breakfast
Me me me me me me me me me me … 🥱
