Thank you sir for the video just fixed my ET4, it was idling fine but bogged down after 10mph, checked the easy stuff realized there was bad gas in there (old), next step was carb cleaning. This video was key. Thanks a million.

Glad they are of some help ! Just avoid ethanol gas , and on coming traffic and you will be just fine with the ET4 !!

Really good video. The mistakes you made and subsequently corrected good to hear and see; don't edit those out. Thanks. I learned alot.

Thanks !! And to be honest , if I edited out my mistakes ,the video would be about two minutes long !!!

    Good work and well explained!
Thanks to your video I cleaned the carburetor of 125 ET4 (very similar to your 150 ET4)!
Mine had "gaps" in recovery (that had clogged the pipe you've cleaned your video to min. 24:00)
just one question: but the adjustment screw gasoline (that side head engine) you have not removed and cleaned?

Tu aurais encore ton vespa et4 125?
J’aurai aimé savoir la taille du premier « gicleur » qui se situe sous la membrane et l’aiguille à l’intérieur du carbu.
J’ai perdu cette petite visse dorée et j’aurais aimé connaître diamètre et sillage .. merci

Oh man. If you’re struggling to get that off with your hands, what chance do I have? Thanks for the walk through.

The ethanol gas here does terrible things ! Worse thing to happen to small engines in our lifetimes !

The dot on the screw heads tells you to use a JIS screwdriver. They grip much better.

In addition to the idle nozzle what is plastic? For me to fall off.

I'm debating on getting a bike with a fuel injection system. I don't know if I'd like it more or what. This seems like opening up a can of worms to clean the carburetor when a fuel injection system looks much easier to deal with. I don't know about the longevity of either system as well. I want to get a Vespa ET4 150 like this one. But there is also a Honda pcx 125 with fuel injection available. It just does not have the passion involved with the Vespa but it looks way easier to deal with mechanically. I don't care if I have to learn to take the whole bike apart or put it back together blindfolded in my sleep, but I would like something that will last me many years and will be reliable. What should I do?

+Mackenly Parmelee Two words .....Fuel Injection !! A good quality fuel injection ( non - Chinese ) will just beat the pants off a carb every time . They start easier in colder weather , work in all altitudes , deal with ethanol fuels much better , and just give a superior performance . Sure your adding a fuel pump , an injector , a couple of sensors to detect motor movements and O2 levels in the exhausts and a computer to handle it all , and that sounds like a lot but it's just so bullet proof ! And when it does go wrong odds are great the computer will tell you exactly whats fouled up !
But to defend the carb some , once you learn what does what and you learn to never ever leave old gas in it , they generally work pretty good ! And if your in the US or Canada , the ethanol they dump into our gas ( up to 10 percent in some paces ! ) just gums up the guts , it is just terrible for small motors , thankfully one gas station in my town sells ethanol free gas ! And true, there is just something about having a good ol fashioned scooter like a Vespa ! But it can come at a price some days !

+Tim Tuttle Yeah I ended up going with the fuel injected. Maybe some day I will own a Vespa

nice one.. is this carb relatively the same as the 125 et4. ? as mine could do with the same therapy. With the correct tools of course 😜Mike from Liverpool

From what I can tell the carbs for all the LEADER motors are pretty much the same , BUT here in the States we have all kinda of stupid emissions control stuff that may be deleted on yours ! But that being said , the great thing about all carbs , they all work pretty much the same ! Hope you guys don't have to deal with ethanol in your gas , biggest problem here on small engines !
