I have also same confusion at the same time duration because when I am done copy and paste at the same front and transform by 120 size the new object is not place at the corner part it stays at the center and make unusual shape
I'm not sure what you did differently but, when i use the shape builder tool the middle piece is still connected to the 2 little sharp pieces on the side so they're not their own pieces. however very great video and very helpful. thank you.
Press control + Y and adjust the shape's lines on each other then use shape builder tool for merge the shape and holding Alt + for the remove the shape.

What can be the problem? When I am trying to do the upper corner it's coming back to a square(from the circle). Thank u.
Thank You. Maybe you are using an old Adobe illustrator version. I am using Adobe Illustrator 2021.

@@Cristina70948, make a circle from the square as per video and then click on the centre of the circle and when blue colour pop on the right -upper side of the circle, drag it to the upper side.

So I think the problem is you're using the selection tool when you need the direct selection tool. One will affect the entire shape and the other affects one edge of the shape.
