Regarding the "Joey" voice I used in the video, I really liked using it. It's an AI application that can be manipulated, similar to developing digital images in PS. It opened up a lot of video creativity that wasn't available before and, as a result, this was the funnest video I ever made. Photos, panels, videos . . . they're all creative outlets for me. And it's hard to be creative if you just imitate others. Creativity means breaking some rules and trying different things. Not everyone is going to like it, but creative people tend to be a bit nonconformist. While I tend toward convention in many parts of my life, it was a blast using Joey on this video. Learned a lot and got to try some new stuff. While I don't particularly like making videos, I think it's more fun with a different voice . . . and there are several more to try ; -)
You might like using it but your viewers certainly don''t. I seem to remember an old saying that goes, 'the customer is king.' Bot voices lack any character, inflection, felling etc. and don't come close to the human voice. This one really sucks.
Dear Tony I understand the funniness in making this video with the AI application, but it is an almost educational or explicative video, and it needs to be listened as clearly as possible, especially by people, like me, living abroad where english is not the main language, the human inflection probably is much more understandable for non english people and you actually sell your products all over the world, so I'm just asking you to continue having fun but at least please put subtitles on video, thanks for your attention
Tony, since upgrading to latest version of CC I don’t see the TK Control panel. I just purchased the latest Lake Bled videos with panels, will this put that panel back?
The "Control" module no longer exists with the V6 panel, Ken. Neither does the old "Actions" module. With the V6 panel, the "Combo" and "Cx" modules have all the function from these two older build built into them. The control functions are what's normally visible on the Combo/Cx modules. To access the actions, just click the "TK►" button at the bottom of the module. If you're familiar with the old V5 Actions and Control modules, you'll all those functions and more build into the Combo/Cx modules of V6. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have additional questions.
Hey guys, what is a zone mask? I feel slightly stupid asking this however I need to know and I'm just not understanding the difference between the lights and darks options vs the zone mask options. Thanks for you help!
Zone masks generally select narrower parts of the tonal spectrum. A good way to see this is to create a black to white gradient. Then use the panel to make the different masks--Lights, Darks, and Zones. You'll quickly see that Lights and Darks masks are always anchored in either the brightest or darkest tones in the image. Zone masks, on the other hand, have the most concentrated parts of their selection in tones other than black or white. So zone masks select tones between black and white and Lights and Darks select tones focused on white and black. I also have an older tutorial on my blog on zone masks: tonykuyper.wordpress.com/2014/06/26/zone-masks/ It's a bit out of date for the current V6 panel, but will show you visually what's going on with zone masks.
