Great song by Rex Griffin who wrote many good songs for some of the great country stars. Perhaps Elvis really admired Rex or especially liked the versions by Eddy Arnold of 1955 and Jim Reeves in 59. Anyhow, there must have been something that drew him to this song. He did a great job on it too!
