The story of Glyndebourne itself is such a fascinating story that I'm surprised someone hasn't picked up on it and made a movie or TV series about it. I could try myself I suppose, but I fear my efforts wouldn't be worthy of it.
With all due respect to Margaret Johnson, I do not think she has a brilliant or great voice and no amount of stage presence or beauty can alter the fact of her having a strident, even shrill, soprano voice, her over-emoting presentations and being off key frequently.
She is WAY too pretty to be an Opera singer. She physically looks like the lady with a Soulful/R&B/Pop/Dance voice. Don't get me wrong, she sings Opera beautifully but the style doesn't match her looks.
+Chad Guindon Bullocks. Please, rid yourself if your prejudices by reading a little, or doing another mentally soothing activity. I've known a lot of pretty opera singers. Kathleen Battle and Kiri Te Kanawa were both very pretty in their day.
WHAT A FABULOUS FEMALE- complete. She has everything, beautiful voice, beautiful body and a face to die for
My God!...beautiful
She's just a very little bit crazy but that voice...OMG
preparare sus temas en flauta como hace unos años atras. Gran artista.

There’s been a play written about it, called the moderate soprano.
With regard to Tyler Welton's question about the identity of the second aria sung in this video, it's from Handel's opera "Lucrezia".
Does anyone know the second aria? It's stunning!!!
Gia Nel Seno from Lucrezia
No not pap.
she has a brilliant probably great voice- an unforgettable stage presence and sure she is very beautiful. What is "shameless " about that.

This is as good an example of pap as you can find - a shameless PR exercise extolling not her voice but her body.
