You're right. Concentration on the downfall from differing governmental perspectives, ie; military, civilian federal and state government etc, would have made FTWD wildly popular.
who else wants a show that shows the outbreak from the emergency service/military prespective? i think it would be amazing to see the breakdown from that angle
British_Imperialism also in these ive notice nobody knows what zombies are so there’s no UA-cam videos of people posting “how to” videos like you would do in the real world. Nobody has played resident evil or seen dawn of the dead so feels like the traditional zombie outbreak might get picked up quicker. My thinking anyway.
Well the first ever "zombie" movie was from the perspective of the famous scientist who was trying to cure it from the start "The last man on earth" with Vincent Price
@@christopherconard2831 it could last, there's gotta be some government people still around locked up in an army base. If there's still civilians running around with guns and ammo. The military would probly dwindle down to the point they start looking for hardened survivors that can fight.
FTWD blew it. It should have never been family focused. It should have from the perspective of the military (especially special forces), hospitals, what happened overseas and a SLOW breakdown of civilization. Walkers should not have been introduced until roughly next to last episode of the prequel series
My thoughts exactly. There was so much potential, it should have been a slow burner with mass paranoia and fear growing throughout.. it went from a normal family to sudden zombie executioners way too fast.
Larry Burks I agree, and if later they wanted to branch out it would be possible to have some soldiers desert and follow that storyline thereafter. Taking the place of the family but only after we get a good see at the militaries perspective first and not as rushed as it was in FTWD
cursed_ninja 57 Not true. In one episode a character (can’t remember which) said "The damn things came from the horror stories parents used to scare children."
cursed_ninja 57 police and military are told after two shots center mass then to aim for the head, however this isn’t due to zombies but rather incase someone is wearing body armour
Something that really bothers me about this is that if they napalmed the cities, why when rick went into Atlanta did he not see evidence of that destruction? Buildings should have been leveled and burned to ash, but there was nothing! And that would go the same for every major city we would see in the future episodes.
Yeah, the city looked fine in episode 1 but when Beth was in the hospital the buildings out her window were more destroyed looking. The only evidence of bombing we saw on the ground was near the hospital with the burned walkers stuck to the pavement that almost got Daryl. Guess budgets and making a real city look destroyed isn't easy.
The illusion: Kirkman and Ericson repeatedly tell us that "FTWD will reveal the stages of the initial outbreak and the breakdown of society". The reality: show does a nine day skip.
Being former military. Inteligence branches would've figure out the whole. Shot them in the head thing within days. And that info would have been sprend through out all the branches. Safe zones would've been held. And if compromised. They would have a new defencive position already scouted.
I remember speaking to my team leader when i was in and he said we would probably die like in the movies lol. Our leadership would have us bound against the walkers im sure!
Definately Not A Skynet H.K. Tank same but I mean we definitely know about the whole shoot em In the head deal plus if Shit got wack like this I’m going to my family bc our government isn’t going to look after us and I’m not gonna be some dudes lunch 😂
Well of course intelligence branches would've known but that information can't be disclosed to the public because of the sheer amount of panic it would generate.
yeah but let say a grandma is dying and since everyone has the virus if the dying person died withough the brain destroyed the'll still turn and the safe zones the military is keping and eye out but a grandma just died and starts eating her husband and these walkers are the season 1 walking dead walkers that happends everything is gone they would know a headshot kills them but they have to kill every dying people and that would cause a protest cuse people still don't know what is happening
Fear was a great idea that never lived up to it's promise and potential. But most Apocalypse tv shows and films tends to skip showing the Apocalypse in actual progress. I'm assuming it's something to do with budget. The first time I had a taste for such a scenario was when I saw the first 30 minutes of the original Dawn of the Dead. The Raid on the housing project was awesome. WWZ is the only property that actually covered the actual anarchy of the Apocalypse as it happens.
blackdragon6 flashback scenes from I am legend did a good job at building a real tension including the crazies. I really loved 28 days later for that perspective of emptiness but budget must be mental to shoot that in a apocalyptic way. Sort of why I got bored with the walking dead there is so only so many times Georgia after the apocalypse can look interesting.
@@blackdragon6Ill check it out. I had a chat with a military doctor who gave a great lecture on chemical weapons and we spent an hour afterwards talking about why he loves 28 days but hates the walking dead, was great fun and he quite liked girls with all the gifts which isnt a bad movie. I am legend was meh so so, overhyped and over budget as it was shot in new york. That made it good as movie shooting is very expensive to shut down and film on location. Check out a really interesting channel Oliver harper audio commentary 28 days later. Very good channel discussing zombie films. Came across it a while ago so far my fav channel on youtube. Sorry for long reply lol
Really hated the "Realism" of The Walking Dead. 1. Nukes would've been deployed/Weapons of mass destruction such as MOABs and such. It's more probable that other countries would use a nuclear/atom bomb method. Look at World War Z. 2. Military presence should still be around establishing camps and even fortified settlements. If regular people can do it, so can they, look at The Last of Us, the military and government is still around after 20 years and they're battling infected 2x stronger and faster then TWD infected. 3. The infected are decaying, which is biologically impossible for them to be as strong as they are in the series. They should also be starving and eventually die. Look at 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Also the military is still around in those movies even though the infected are again, 2x stronger then TWD infected. (And more realistic) 4. The way the military got "overunned" in FTWD is so fucking stupid. You're telling me a small walker horde can tear down a military installation just like that? You're telling me no one figured out to aim for the fucking head? You're telling me trained fucking soldiers lose a 1v1 against a walker? I can go on and on but it seems like every one of these Walking Dead videos no one realizes how fucking stupid all this shit sounds.
@@jrunner5k Man oh man, do I have the book series for you! The "Black Tide" series by John Ringo. The scene you just described plays out in Book 2, Islands of Rage and Hope, where a platoon of Marines makes a break out from their base, gets overrun in the field, and simply locks themselves in nearby MRAPs until the infected get bored and wander off. Its a very, very realistic series written by an actual military veteran (Ringo was a paratrooper back in the 80s) who had help from virologists and epidemiologists in writing a realistic zombie plague.
ItsZachTV Doesn’t really means the rest of Europe is dead, could mean that they just started focusing lot on the military and containment instead of a cure since it would’ve taken longer, and come on, you’re gonna tell me only the French would be left? Not even the UK? Germany? Russia?
@@mr.anderson2241 It's TWD, nothing is realistic; the way you sell a series like this is to choose a random guy with random people and turn them into epic heroes that can fight hundreds of zombies while the military gets stupidly and unrealistically overrun. These details are just there to catch everyone's attention dude, it's called plot convenience. If I were you, I wouldn't pay attention to it.
As a walking dead show, fear is a pretty decent addition showing how different people handle a similar situation but as a prequel it sucks because it didn't really show how it started.
If they really wanted a somewhat believable reason why the military failed, they should've played up the angle of soldiers deserting to save their own families and whatever, while the remaining personnel holes up in their bases to save themselves. And the whole "liquidate the survivors" part makes absolutely zero sense. Just why? But you have to show that the authorities are evil, I guess.
And that movie didn't really take the whole zombie idea to heart xD is was a a comedy of a zombie scenario. That's why it's my favourite zombie film though because it's the most realistic and it set in england
@Alfredo Lopez fun fact the owner is a secret member of the MAFIA which explains why he has an illegal firearm in his pub. He always says it's a fake but in reality it is a real lethal shotgun
Stijn de Koning true but it was a show they wanted to show that the military was failing and plus it’s the main characters and a tv show and plus again they have been around longer then the military in the apocalypse so they know how to kill them efficiently
@@Michael-di7bg then we wouldnt have a series. A police officer in a small town in atlanta with no military background could never compare to an armed forces member
There are plenty of examples of a military being defeated when a new type of warfare is used. What i find irritating is nobody on either TWD or FTWD seems to think, "hey, rather than get face to face to stab the zombie with a butterknife. I should make a 6ft spear."
Jarod 1999 realistically the military wouldn’t be much. The soldiers would leave to family. They have families too so they wouldn’t really give a shit to go help. That’s the most realistic thing.
Still, in reality the military would’ve easily won against the walkers, they’re slow, their only plus is their numbers, also if they’re dead bodies which have reanimated they wouldn’t actually have the strength to bite through thick clothes
You actually have the jaw strength to bite your own fingers off but your brain inhibits this potential because humans are idiots. Walkers don't have this problem, hence their supernatural strength.
Robert Kirkman was the reason why the first season of FTWD was so short and so sudden to jump from initial outbreak. He also convinced the writers to make that 9 day time jump in season one. He is also the reason why they did not end up explaining what caused the outbreak as he felt that was unnecessary. FTWD could have established so much of the early days if Dave Erickson was given free reign to write the story he wanted. Also originally FTWD was going to be called Operation Cobalt but that was scratched and instead we got Fear the Walking Dead.
In TWD, the military isn't gone. It's still there as we've seen through certain episodes of various seasons. However, by the time season 8 rolled around...there was most likely not enough or in small pockets so weren't really effective anymore.
I really would have loved that they showed more from the military like they did in S3 with the governor killing them, for example a military group meeting negan or something like that, It would have been very interesting
I do believe that the Governor shot down the helicopter, as I swear after the first sputtering of the engine followed by the turbulence that I heard a loud crack in the background. Such a sound could have been a gunshot which hit the propeller and caused the helicopter to crash.
I might be wrong, so sorry if I am... but I’m sure the was a ‘story’ from the second gulf war, where an old Iraqi man, got a one in a million shot with an old bolt action rifle and managed to damage an Apache helicopter. I can’t really remember the full details but I’m sure the helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing and a QRF had to go rescue the two airmen. Yeah I just had a quick search, the incident happen - The 2003 attack on Karbala.
Andrew is a corporal in the army, which is the lowest rank of an NCO (Non commissioned officer & in leadership MOS). So if higher leadership not there explains how he might know some stuff because offices use NCO's as part of the command/ chain of given orders out. Since he was a NG (National Guard) a corporal would be acting like a higher rank of active duty NCO. Active meaning one who servers 24-7-365, where a NG is part time, not unless ordered into active duty. Because they (NG) are back up combat units in the army. I knows because I was active duty army myself.
My dad was in the California National Guard for 10 years from 1950 to 1960. Guard units then were made up of men from their local area. Everyone new everyone else in their daily life. My dad's and my high school history teacher was the First Sgt for the company and my dad was the company clerk. The company was an armored cavalry unit. Dad knew everything the CO and First Shirt knew. So I would safely say that everyone in the unit would pretty much know what was going on. As a side note that I found out from dad much much later, he and his unit took part in an other invasion in the 50s. His company was on maneuvers at Fort Irwin in the Mojave Desert at the time Hollywood was making "The War of the Worlds" movie. The scene where you see the American forces deploying and engaging the Martians were his company and one other. In the movie they were supposed to be US Marines but Korea was still active and no marine units were available. They were filmed in daylight and then filtered to look like night time.
Ummm, the 2 stripe would have knowledge because it’s the national guard. The world is about to end and these guys are locals of the state. The CO(commanding officer) would tell his first sgt and Lts of each platoon what’s going on then the lt of each platoon would break up and go to their individual platoons a notify their PSG(platoon sgt) or just bring everyone together with squad leaders, team leaders just everyone. Then basically give a general brief of the situation and what their job is as a platoon. It’s not highly unlikely that a small group of weekend warriors would know everything. Especially in that type of setting. Now operations overseas is a different thing. You’ll have a briefing with your squad leaders after they had a meeting with the LT and PSG. Then break down the information to each squad and what is the mission and that’s about it. The deployments I been on sometimes my unit would lend me to another unit because of my multiple MOSs and experience out the wire. I would get a brief on what my mission is and pretty much I never listened because when you get to the unit that asked for you or you got voluntold to go. The mission intel you got briefed from your unit isn’t the correct up to date intel. Anyways, what I find that is BS is the 2 stripe weekend warrior didn’t just tell the guy because everything was going to shit anyways. Also, that form is highly believable but would have more redacted things. Another thing is accountability. That 2stripe is a 11b(infantry) so he would’ve been a possible team leader next to a squad leader which is a E6(staff sergeant). Someone like him gone and dropped off the radar like that would’ve been searched for and if not found would be considered AWOL. Everyone in the military knows that OPSEC always gets blown no matter what. There is always that few that post stuff on social media or call whoever and tell them what just happened or what they’re doing. I still say in a zombie type setting like these in both shows. The damn military nor safe zones wouldn’t fall unless there was absolute complacency. Tactically, anyone with and scratch or would would be under armed quarantine. The entrance and exits would have 240b and gun trucks with M2 (.50). When they showed fort benning I kinda was like how does that base fall. All the combat units there with martial law. They would mow down slow ass walker and like fire guard watch all units would rotate shifts to make sure if anyone dies in sleep and turns they will neutralize the threat. Lol, zombies moving that slow wouldn’t end the world that’s for sure.
Really wish they went into more of the initial outbreak and the breakdown of society. Fear could've done so much more with that in season 1 and 2. We know That's not gonna happen now with the time skip, don't even get me started on that, lol. Great video as always!! Keep em coming! 💗💀
I think Erickson bit more than he could chew, Fear season 1 was made to show where it all began but budget problems. AMC didn't want to shell out more shekels for the first season of Fear, so we got an idea of what or how the apocalypse started but not in depth like AMC and Erickson promised, sad.
Lisa Ventura Season 1 of Fear didn't make any sense. Why would the military bomb the quarantine zones they set up & already knew were secure. The show made the military into the bad guys & just glossed over the initial outbreak.
@@keitht24 Idk. I'm guessing like in LA and prob everywhere else, things got out of hand. How secure can anywhere really be during this? Someone in the safe zone dies of a heart attack in the middle of the night and bam, outbreak all over again. And Daniel brought on the walkers at the military hospital, guessing napalming the cities was a last resort to try to contain. I would think it would create more walkers tho. Who knows?
You explain so PERFECTLY why we love the initial outbreak into survival seasons! It's more interesting to watch how people react, and survive the fall of the world vs watching them rebuild it. It's all good, but the first season of TWD will forever be epic!
important thing to remember too is S-5 shows the end result of the napalm , it didnt actually kill all of the walkers, as much as melted them into the asphalt in some situations. a severed head alone could be fatal so even 90% burnt up walkers remain a threat...
the guv doesn't need operation cobalt.., all they need are half a dozen Daryls' on a rampage armed with knives, crossbows and bad breath. hell they wont even need to feed them. they will survive out there on raw squirrel, earthworms and peanut butter
The scary thing to me was when rhey locked all of those Walkers in what looked like the old Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. They giy said it was mostly the dead but collateral living too who of course wouldn't survive.
In my opinion the most interesting takes on zombies are when they show the disruption of humanity. Cities rioting because they don’t know what’s going on or are slowly going into ruin. Seeing people scared, the military take affirmative action, it’s just all interesting to see.
To be honest the first FTWD episodes was really something different to the franchise, If I was a producer I will put at least 2 seasons of early stages of the apocalypse, also as Shane witnessed, the military shoot people and walkers most of them without knowing that the people would reanimate making the situation worst but overall FTWD was great for me, Until this Last season that I lost interest with FTWD changing into a Morgan subplot, and this come from a Morgan fan.
I always thought this though. Like if they started shoot or watching people die to walkers? And then watch them come back to life. You would think they would get an idea and be like "Hey lets tell everyone that when anyone dies they come back to life" you know? Like someone in the military somewhere no mater the rank had to witness that and spread the word to let people know? I mean come on.
There would have been more ground units with tank support dispersed . Living next to a base I see all sorts of things not used. Gunships alone could be dealing outcontrol aswell making nest on high points with firepower. 50 cals on roofs a street corner roofs. They would drop b52s and carpet bomb to level a threat around a permiter creating a wall holes to horde up the dead.
With post apocalyptic stuff like this, I'm always wondering what happened to POTUS and senior government...It's likely they died too, either not making it to a secure place or the secure place being overrun/out of supplies. P.s great vid
Shots from The Division 2 show both Air Force One and Marine One wreckages that suggest a failed POTUS evac...it would be cool for either show to have some of the group come across the wreckage of Air Force One/Marine One etc
I really think that what with all of the Continuity of Government Plans in place and all of the theoretical plans and contingency plans that the Pentagon has on file, I really think that there are a couple of ultra-secure government compounds in some old Cold War facilities where the remnants of the government are holed up. They’re probably researching and think they will be able to push out one day, but have no idea when
@King yeah it seems like there should be one or two somewhere at least. The FTWD podcasts RadioWaves tells about an Operation N.O.A.H. which is a government contingency plan that is mirrored to just like what we have in America today....(but I thought NOAH was a weather related thing but I guess they called the contingency plan NOAH as well?)
That's why there so many Walmarts. They can be transformed into military " Safe Zones" quickly. Food, water supplies Already there. Parking lot turns into " detention center" by erecting chain link fence around it.
Who would win? Thousands of trained soldiers with automatic weapons backed up with tanks, helicopters, and F22 Raptors. Or a lot of slow, walking, dead people that bite you. AMC: Oh, definitely the slow walking zombies.
Military needs a healthy society to run it. Here’s an analogy. Picture a fridge filled with all types of food (food=military) and if not supported by electricity (electricity=healthy society), the food will eventually spoil and become rotten. Since the industry is non-existent, you know, because of zombies; the military would eventually run out of bullets, fuel, food, water, equipment, etc. You already see how high the US military’s budget is too.
@@willshealy5963 I do agree with you. A well supplied army is a good one. But one with out supply will fall apart quickly. Look at the Germans fighting Russia in WW2. Or the Fins fighting Russia in WW2. But I disagree with one point you make. Officers in the military are trained to pretty much overcome any situation. Sure there human. But the chain of command is very clear, and when you know that your commander, officer has gone down. The next highest ranking officer takes over and starts commanding. You would need EVERY commanding officer of the rank of Major to pretty much die within the first week of the infection to actually render the military helpless. My second and last point though. Is that they are fighting slow moving undead people that have to get within biting or clawing distance to injure or kill you. The military has rifles that shoot over 500m accurately and each soldier is trained to shoot that distance and when they run out of ammo they are also trained on how to fight and take down people very quickly. I mean if you have 10 military armed people and like 5000 zombies, sure the zombies would overwhelm the soldiers quickly. But say those 10 soldiers now have Mk19 APC, 2 50.Cal Humvees and a nice line of fortification. Those odds go way way up for the soldiers fighting. Also not to mention they are defending points and not attacking and clearing areas. So it would be even easier since generals would see very quickly what type of enemy they are fighting and adapt the situations. If not the generals the people on the ground would adapt to fight it. Idk I don't like the way they portray them either. Because they don't show what or why it happened like that. You know. It would be nice to know if there was like a really ignorant general put in charge that was like "Pfft Riots. OO they bite? wait infection, ummm BOMB the streets with Napalm!" Then I would believe it more. But were left with pretty much nothing :(
@@willshealy5963 you no need a bullet OR warmachine yo fight those walker, you can just drive the humvee and crash them over, cause the twd zombie even can,t break the glass
One thing I never understood about zombie media is why not just wear Kevlar clothing? Like you can easily buy it right now and cover your entire body while looking like you have jeans and hoodie on. I don't mean the heavy bullet resistant variety either.
I'm not sure if this was pointed out yet or not, but the soldier was an E-4 Corporal, same rank as E-4 Specialist, one step under being a E-5 Sergeant, so it would make sense as to why he knew what Cobalt was. It could also have been command putting the information out so that everyone knew and was prepared for it as well, though.
I was reading a comment from 5 years ago that talked about wanting a 🧟♂️ show from the prospective of emergency services/military members. I 💯 agree! I’d love to see police responding to house calls having to do with zombies, or a national guard commander getting the 📞 to deploy, and announcing it to his men. The closest thing we get to this is “All of Us are Dead,” where we do see many scenes from the prospective of a certain military commander, as well as Nam On-Jo’s father being with emergency services. (At least until he gets on the 🚁) Influenza (Kseries) is coming out in June or July, where the boyfriend of Jisoo is a marine on leave.
Spin Off Idea : "The Walking Dead : Stories" Basically a Show About How The Virus Originated And How The U.S Military Dealt With It. And The Finale Episode Being Set On The Short "National Guard And Civilians Vs The Military" Civil War".
After watching both shows and seeing both starting to lose key actors/roles, I really hope they don't leave us hanging and instead explain the virus and who or what is responsible for it. After the CDC visit learning that everyone carries it, we need to know wtf happened.
I'm afraid your fears are their intention all along. The show's story or the producers do not have any plans to tell or film anything telling about it. - Thanks for watching!
Or a Russian TOS-1A Theromberic MLRS would of vaporized walkers with an effective range of 12km it's a good weapon system also FAB-500's soild kill thousands of them and level buildings
I would like to see a spin-off starting at the outbreak from the military’s perspective, transitioning through the seasons until it evolved into the CRM, the Commonwealth and other groups
They should have specific multiple diverse perspectives such as a doctor trying to stop the virus, government perspective, military perspective of a General (perhaps Commanding General), regular soldier, average civilian, a doomsday preper, and a person with a disability such as blindness. Each season should be structured like the TV show '24'. In Fear the Walking Dead the primary outbreak seems to occur over just a few days. Each perspective gets 3 seasons; one season for each day of the major outbreak, each episode covering 1 hour of real time. That would give 18 seasons of the most awesome zombie show I can imagine, and very tense, high action, and a staggering 432 episodes focused on the area fans most want to see. Why they haven't tried this yet is beyond me. The Walking Dead Fans are starving for more "man vs zombie" over "man vs man" in a zombie world. There's no doubt in my mind that it would be a very profitable venture!
It would also keep the cast fresh and maybe they would make it from start to finish. Maybe it wouldn't get so bad that the actors start leaving. etc etc - good points! - Thanks for watching!
Station two man fire teams on the top of buildings at street intersections. Give them, a tent, food, water, twenty thousand rounds of ammo, and a loud air horn or siren. Use the siren to call in the hordes and pick them off. One shot one kill. Station teams every several city blocks and have a city cleaned out in no time.
The National Guard guy would have probably known Cobalt wasn't evacuation code but he would not have necessarily known the details about humanely killing people and all the rest of that
My question is were did the military go after it failed because the government know about the virus for a little bit. so my theory is they all went to one of the mountain bunkers that can hold more then 500 people. officialy we only have 3 but we're probably have up to 10 give or take .
Jake's customs Most of the military personnel deserted to go to there families, a lot of them were killed by walkers and people like the governor and maybe some went to bunkers but eventually the would die from food shortages as well. Officially the Military in TWD UNIVERSE is no more, however in the wiki its status is listed as unknown so you never know
Yeah actually in TWD there's no more Military, in the past season we saw some military but as a walker, but there's the Commonwealth which is i think a part of the Governement
Jake's customs many of the personnel evacuated back to the safety of the Air Force bases. Some of them went to bunkers, but most stuck with the fortified bases. Those that didn’t make it to the bases or bunkers were either killed by the walkers or abandoned their stations and went to be with their families/friends.
No and yes If the bomb was by a horde it would kill the horde and any survivors near by destroying there body So kills more but makes maybe 10 more So yeah
People not near enough to the explosions to be incinerated but near enough to die from the hazardous fumes, the sonic boom’s impact, being thrown into something by the kinetic force or other indirect causes of the bombings, would indeed become walkers. Do you not know how actual military grade bombs work? The sonic boom can and will indeed kill those outside the explosion dependent on the size of the bomb, and often it is the cause of more deaths than the explosive fires themselves.
ngl but the National Guard was surprisingly well researched. The thing I think most service-members would recognize the most were the guys who stole the family's SUV, that the ranks were the following: Corporal, Specialist, and Private. The literal E-4 Mafia. The minor details of how they chose the actors who portrayed the National Guard. Many National Guardsmen IRL would probably desert as well, and many National Guardsmen do not have any combat experience. Lieutenant Moyer seemed to be, at least to me, someone who had been active-duty, probably a mustang (an Officer who was a former Enlisted guy) considering he was only a 1st Lieutenant and was an older guy, and this is sort of expressed how he refers to the rest of the National Guard soldiers as "kids" and not warriors. Its really the small things that were sort of subliminal that I personally liked and had a laugh about with the boys when we watched it together and could pick apart the details based on our own experiences. Though enough reality, ngl the Enclave looking kinda cute rn
8:18 I would disagree, I think we saw military discipline break down and morale get very low as the guardsmen saw how things were not getting better. They likely were all thinking about their families, and wanting to get back to them. When their commanding officer went with them into that school I always had a feeling the young soldiers “fragged” him because they wanted to desert their posts
If u remember the hospital scene with Shane flashback u can see a couple of soldiers executing a group of people so yes morale went down the drain unless that was there protocol or those people were bit
AMC really needs to fix TWD, let alone the story isn't as interesting as it used to be. I'm hoping that at some point, the show will get better overtime.
A lot of the top writers got fired through out the years I heard which definitely changed the walking dead’s direction a few times. Bc in season 1 the zombies were pretty intelligent being able to climb fences and jog. Kinda wish they stayed with those walkers. TWD had a lot of potential.
Military aint gone, they are doing their best to not engage with an enemy they cannot defeat in the usual sense. I'd expect the Corps of Engineers would be busy digging 'drop pits' to collect and isolate walkers. We'd see Soldiers in a post-walker world, but they wouldn't be engaged in combat with hordes.
The thing I remember most about FTWD is how disappointing it was. You did not get to see the govt response or military response as much as they hyped, and you didn't get to see society falling apart as much as they claimed.
I feel like in this kind of viral outbreak that the military and government would order to pull ALL forces to one location like dc, pull all equipment, ammo and personnel they can and when shits calmed down slowly but surely take back the country or take back what you can.
After the bombing of Atlanta I think the military send one chopper to see how much damage it did to the walkers and it did just 40% damage so the bombing was a complete failure so the military left Atlanta because the bombing wasn’t so successful and every city that has been overrun they bomb it hoping to finish all the infected but it didn’t work so the military left and never came back for city’s the military police fire fighters paramedics where overrun only a few survived and other regiments battalions just turned into a squad and soon after they left the people to fight for the selves only a few soldiers were alive so operation cobalt was failure and the bombing of city’s was deemed as a failure
To be honest, Cobalt should’ve succeeded. If only civilians weren’t selfish. Also that overrun stadium getting breached by the old man was the turning point. They could’ve won it..
I remember when FTWD started I was so happy to see the actual collapse. I figured that it would take most or all of the first season (then season one would end in some kind of last stand between walkers and what was left of the military/pre-walker society). And then season two and on would become the survival type show like TWD. I was so disappointed when it became clear that they were going to blow through the collapse in the first couple of episodes and move right to survival. Don't get me wrong, I loved TWD at that time and I loved the survival aspect. But like I told a friend, if I want to watch a show about people barely scrapping by in a new world then I can watch TWD. The whole reason I thought they made FTWD was to make something different, something with a little more action and to really get into the details as to how and why society collapsed so quickly.
The thing that most likely happened was once the contingency plan was enacted, the high ranking members of the military, Congress, and the president were evacuated to a safe location. Most likely a fortified bunker. When this evacuation was complete, all ties with the outside world other than a force large enough to guard said bunker were cut, leaving the majority of the military (or what was left) to fend for themselves. It wouldn't surprise me if one final order was given, some sort of fend for yourself or the American Equivalent to Clausewitz.
Your channel is becoming a mandatory add in for TWD viewing experience. I love that you share your opinions and this channel is only destined for bigger and better things. Keep on doing, dont apologise for content that is fandom approved. Just get on with the juicy explanations = Is it a good thing that we kinda need your channel to answer these new zombie moments that are not typical zombie lore.
Yup The governor had that helicopter shot down with an M82 Barrett which is well within that weapon's capability and he ambushed an Army convoy. Ever since the 1st episode of the walking dead, I have always wondered how Hawaii and Alaska would fare in this situation.
@@TWDExplained True, but being in a non-continental landmass could mean the difference between facing thousands of walkers and tens of millions of walkers. I think Japan would fare rather well due their favorable topography and strong focus on pragmatism. I have a theory that the wild fire virus isn't actually a virus. I think it's a prionic phage. I like to think of it as some sort of genetic fail safe device designed to prevent terminal overpopulation. It would be triggered by a very specific set of environmental conditions.
Iam in the guard and I hope if a zombie apocalypse happens, we dont loose all of our cool stuff and get killed by a bunch of bodies that walk at a pace of 1 mile per hour.
This is so interesting & good! I wish we could get a whole movie or spin off anthology like series just on the early outbreak of the zombie apocalypse.
I could kinda overlook the awkward wording of the operations order by figuring that there weren't a lot of people left on staff duty positions by that time; everyone who swore and oath and went through Basic probably had a rifle shoved in their hands and you had S1 personnel, cooks, mechanics, and so on doing gate guard at safe zones. Meanwhile, command probably took people who had been civilian government employees, like EPA, Forest Service, Immigration, IRS, and so on and pressed them into service to run the administrative side of things since they weren't as applicable as field soldiers... so you end up with informal "op orders" written by obvious civilians.
If "The Walking Dead" would have happened in real life, the cities would have been "sterilized." Now, what is meant by "sterilized?" ""Sterilization"would have been done with a number of tactical nuclear weapons with an air burst. That would have destroyed the cities, but the radioactive fallout would have been kept at a minimum level. This is not readily known to the general public, but this method would be used in the event of an untreatable contagion that could be "neutralized" and prevent further spread beyond the area of infection. This would also include, but not limited to Ebola, Marburg Hemorrhagic Fever, or any other Level 4 untreatable virus or bacteria.
@Savage Killer Thank for your comment. You have an extremely virulent outbreak of a contagion that has no known cure, vaccine, or remedy. Dead human beings are reaminating. It is spreading like a wildfire and have no means of containing it. You have numerous people that are being attacked and they themselves have become infected. You have others that are not infected, but run the risk of those people that may be infected. What are you going to postulate the odds that they may "turn?" The movie, "Outbreak" dramatized what the United States Military would do in the case of Ebola or any other Level 4 disease if there was the risk of an outbreak. In the past (in the real world), many locations are isolated and there no need to "sterilize" a population. If there's a risk of it happening here and became widespread, non-nuclear air blast weapons (thermobaric bombs) would be utilized and employed first. If that didn't work, the, the employment of nuclear weapons might be employed. The Government just don't talk about it. I'm sure if you were to do a little research, you'll find what I'm talking about. That's one reaso to get out of the city in the event of such an eventuality. Common sense.
@@savagekiller3074 I will even go further to state this. At the point that it has become apparent that the Zombie Virus has become so widespread, then initiating such an action would become a moot point. Having watched "Fear The Walking Dead," I suspect (strictly my opinion) that the agent that caused the Zombie Outbreak was the "Flu Vaccine" that people were innoculated with. Whether it was intentionally or unintentionally is anyone's guess. The fact that the outbreak occurred and people started to become infected, makes the flu vaccine a good bet for the source of the outbreak. Though I will admit, there may be another culprit involved. The creators of "The Walking Dead," "Fear The Walking Dead," and "Z Nation" have left the viewer(s) to figure to postulate the source of the outbreak. I have only given you my theory. Btw, I want to see "Tobias" to come back as a regular character to "Fear The Walking Dead."
That is just plain incorrect. To put things simply without risking losing my Secret Security Clearance... The United States does not plan to, never has, and never will employ the use of Thermo-nuclear weapons for the irradicarion of any disease within the CONUS or any other country for that matter. Regardless of what ever catistrophic epidemic spreads, the game plan comes down to this. Set up a cordon to isolate all infected and set respective quarentine times based on a viruses incubation period. If the disease spreads outside of containment, isolate the cases on a case by case basis. If there were a mass outbreak, then the CDC would begin their CP&P's to advise the public to prevent further spread. Martial law for all affected areas would be ennacted and safe zones would be established to test citizens for said virus, and would provide medical care to civilians, as hospitals would become major hotzones. These are some very basic measures that would be taken. The best I can compare how it would be treated, is to that as seen in Tom Clancy's "The Division" with the 'dollar flu". Like come on man. You don't need to act like you know something that no one else does, because there will always be someone with REAL disaster releif and epidemic control experience and/or knowledge to call it for being bullshit.
Malcolm Heavy, If there is anyone here is "incorrect," I would suggest that that you better look in the mirror. What one is seeing with the TV Series "The Walking Dead," "Fear The Walking Dead," "Z Nation," and a number of the serious Zombie Movies is a lesson in Human Nature. What human beings would do and lower themselves to. What's going on in this particular episode???? If the military (in the "Fear The Walking Dead" episode "Cobalt") was going to save the infected civilian population, then the question should be asked "Why was the military 'pulling out,' leaving the uninfected civilians locked up in the fenced off neighborhood, and scurrying away to save themselves???? Huh???? In real life, tactical nuclear weapons would be used (in an air burst) to destroy mass infected areas. The term is called "containment" and "sterilization." Do YOU really believe that the CDC's CP&P Policy is going to prevent civilians from trying to make a break out of the infected areas to save themselves???? Believe me, it'll happen. Even some members of the CDC have acknowledged that a highly infectious disease (pick any basic incurable Level 4 infectious disease) can move out of an area the size of a city before a "containment" could be put in place with Martial Law. Remember (here in the United States), we're a highly mobile Society. With Martial Law or no martial law, there are always one or more ways to get out of a city. Even me and my brother have a number of escape routes and contingency plans to get out where we live. I really don't care about your SUPPOSED "Security Clearance." I'm not impressed. Why???? I base my information on what I've been told and from my own research on what Government politicians and bureaucrats tend to do, say, and do in the event of a National Emergency. Save themselves first and let the American Civilian Population to fend for themselves. I DON'T need a "Security Clearance" to figure that out. Have any doubt???? Look at the plans for "Continunity Of Government" (COG) that have been made publicly available over the years. Mount Weather, Raven's Rock, the Shelter at the Greenbrier Hotel (till it was decommissioned), the President's "Doomsday Plane," snd other secret Government Shelters. Doesn't sound that the politicians and bureaucrats DON'T care too much for the American People, does it???? What I see with your response is a tendency with the same old line that We The People hear from them: "Hi. I'm from the Government and I'm here to help you." No, thank you! I'll take a pass on that "help." I can take care of myself and my family and DON'T need any "help" from the Government. Government tends to "help" themselves to being a social parasite on the People of The United States. Don't believe me???? Look at the History of Governments throughout Human History. History tells and points it out better than I ever could.
They should have kept how the society crumbled vague becouse when you get in to the details there is no plausable explanation how some rotting monsters that cant walk faster than a toddler did all this damage.
Ahmet Özdemir to be fair when there are groups of them they can overpower people. Especially considering guns need reloading and it takes skill to land headshots on something moving towards you. Also everyone is infected and turns into one. If people die for whatever reason they will return unless their brain has been destroyed.
Honestly the contingency plan probably made it possible for survivors after the initial outbreak just imagine the millions of zombies in massive hordes instead on hundreds or thousands
The most unrealistic thing about the whole thing is how the troops just fire & fire & fire & fire into the chest cavity of the walkers. Which is where the military does in fact teach them to shoot. But soldiers the world over are the most adaptable people on the planet. If doing this (whatever this is) doesn't work they're not going to be Bart Simpson with a fork in a toaster and keep doing the same failing thing over and over and over again because their damn life and the lives of their squad members depends on finding what Works. If the chest cavity didn't stop the walkers they would have gone for the head. Without doubt.
The biggest problem for the military would be figuring that everybody reanimates not just people bitten. Once they figured that out I really believe they could have built safe zones but then there wouldn't be a show.
How the hell did the military lose control of the situation? Literally just sit on top of your APC or any tall object with boxes of ammo and just take your time to shoot any Walker that comes by. I mean they move slow as hell anyway and with any kind of armored vehicle theres no way to lose
Man I was really excited and hyped up for this show, my dumbass thinking we were going to see the outbreak from both civilian and military perspectives. But that didn't happen. Like the song "Return of the Mack" says "YOU LIED TO ME."
It didn't make any sense in la for instance. where we're the regular army troops/marines etc to support the national guard. The whole lapd was wiped out within 24hrs you would have definitely head sustained gunfire continuesly from from the safe zones. The highest ranking military member you seen was a luitenant. And the biggest question is how come a militay that was supposedly defeated mount a nationwide bombing of every city on a conventional level?
They should redo the outbreak and focus on that aspect. FTWD touched on some very important things such as riots being the reason y the outbreak got out of hand. But not nearly enough as they promoted in their commercials and ads. As we could see, even police officers understood and knew the situation way before the military came along. You guys should watch Andrew R. Davis' (that's the name of his channel too) videos about this series. What "could've" been a great series. He hates FTWD and gives great feedback as to what they could've done instead.
We saw the refugie/army Kamp of that small group of soldiers in TWD S4/01 (if I remember it well) where the few soldiers and the helicopters were stationed before it all went south. Their Kamp was In front of a big supermarket. (Food and suplies very close and fences around it) We saw a lot of army tents, fences around the kamp, soldier walkers and non soldier walkers. Also an army helicopter was standing on the leaking roof. That Kamp was overrun from the inside and the few soldiers who survived and left that kamp, where later killed by the Governor. The helicopter crashed because of an engine problem, Michonne and Andrea saw the crash and saw the Governor taken the pilot with him. He told the Governor where to find the few other soldiers and their gear. Daryl found that former army/refugee kamp in front of that supermarket wich was guarded by walkers and he and Sasha lurked the walkers outside that Kamp to get in that supermarket the day before, by making a whole in the fence and with music out of a car. That supermarket was still full of supplies because of the fences and the walkers inside the kamp. A day later, Daryl, Sasha, Bob, Glenn, Michonne and Zack went over there for suplies. Zack died because he safed Bob, who was stuck underneath a shelf with bottles of wine, wich he broke himself and the helicopter from the roof almost felt down at Daryl. The pilot told about this camp and that they had to run, so they took a helicopter and all the gear they could get in a hurry.
I think we don't see the military because the upper echelons have already begun the retreat once Cobalt is started. Where are the Marines? Probably in a bunker on top of a mountain next to the US's strategic oil reserve.
Walking DeadExplained. This was very interesting to listen to. Every time Honestly, every time I think zombie apocalypse, I think worst-case scenario in that regard. Far as Operation Colbalt in Fear the Waking Dead, I think this was no exception far as the collapse of society including government. So I think Colbalt was the miltary's best effort to contain the outbreak in Fear the Walking Dead, but evidently fails to contain all the dead from the cities in the process. So just me, but that sound like the same worst-case scenario case of Resident Evil 2 or the Left 4 Dead. The dead in either RE/ L4D even harder to contain with RE's dead able to mutate into worse than normal zombies, and L4D's epidemic even harder to contain worse than that in Walking Dead. So I'd say Operation Cobalt was a partial success on part of the military, but ultimately a failure when everything in society falls apart. And collapse of society breeds panic that's the one thing that kills more than zombies in a worst-case scenario as that in the Fear the Walking Dead. But at least the zombies Walking Dead easier to kill by trauma to the brain than other fictional zombies outbreak. RE's/ L4D's epidemic even harder to contain OR kill with either or's dead able to run Walking Dead's can't. I mean to say that because the dead's living instincts not there anymore; All they care about after they turn dead is eat whoever's left living in Walking Dead. L4D's in comparison a rampid outbreak for dead to kill, eat, then mutate into worse zombies than normal that's the even worse part than Walking Dead. And even more worse is some zombies not able to be killed by simple trauma to the brain comapred to that in Walking Dead. So the survivors in this show are lucky the dead don't mutate or run. Its just outsmarting them the trick that kills them when in masses.
What I hated about FTWD is that they ended the downfall phase to quickly to move into the survival phase.
I think they listened to the wrong fans. That is why we had a time jump and it seemed as though everything was rushed.
Mark Nayda
So like the Blaire Witch Project?
I know. I would’ve liked to have seen the whole season show the slow in depth decline of civil infrastructure & society.
Show failed cause they killed nick
You're right. Concentration on the downfall from differing governmental perspectives, ie; military, civilian federal and state government etc, would have made FTWD wildly popular.
who else wants a show that shows the outbreak from the emergency service/military prespective? i think it would be amazing to see the breakdown from that angle
Or a game that looks at that! Like day to day tasks slowly become harder as it gets worse and worse.
Yess
Well the first ever "zombie" movie was from the perspective of the famous scientist who was trying to cure it from the start "The last man on earth" with Vincent Price
That sounds awesome, but I feel like it would be best as a mini-series like red machete, or at most a limited series like containment.
They should make a spin off from the military perspective
I doubt it could be a full show. But it is a great concept for a 4-6 show miniseries.
@@christopherconard2831 it could last, there's gotta be some government people still around locked up in an army base. If there's still civilians running around with guns and ammo. The military would probly dwindle down to the point they start looking for hardened survivors that can fight.
Thanks for watching!
They should just make a spin off where every episode is a different story during the outbreak.
YES!
FTWD blew it. It should have never been family focused. It should have from the perspective of the military (especially special forces), hospitals, what happened overseas and a SLOW breakdown of civilization. Walkers should not have been introduced until roughly next to last episode of the prequel series
Larry Burks couldn’t agree more
My thoughts exactly.
Wouldn't people get bored if they waited too long to see a walker? And no way a walker couldn't be shown on a viral video or anything for too long
Thats essentially what was going to go down as the second season of the walking dead but the budget cuts and all that jazz
The military would've figured out the headshot thing pretty damn fast...
Roger Young it’s set in a universe we’re no one knew what zombies were so it wasn’t even a concept
cursed_ninja 57 Not true. In one episode a character (can’t remember which) said "The damn things came from the horror stories parents used to scare children."
cursed_ninja 57 police and military are told after two shots center mass then to aim for the head, however this isn’t due to zombies but rather incase someone is wearing body armour
@@niggilywiggily are you kidding me? By 9 days the military and local police force should have figured out the headshot thing
Roger Young people die every day from several ways. If the brain ain’t damaged which is a large majority of the time, they turn.
Something that really bothers me about this is that if they napalmed the cities, why when rick went into Atlanta did he not see evidence of that destruction? Buildings should have been leveled and burned to ash, but there was nothing! And that would go the same for every major city we would see in the future episodes.
Because the writers added this plot in after the fact.
He dose if u Renee he passes by a couple burned out cars and later on in the series they show shots of the whole series and u can see burnt buildings
You can Napalm the streets. Wipe out the majority of the walkers, then retake the cities building by building.
Plus when they saw Washington DC it's perfectly intact.
The illusion: Kirkman and Ericson repeatedly tell us that "FTWD will reveal the stages of the initial outbreak and the breakdown of society".
The reality: show does a nine day skip.
Thanks for watching!
I would like to have seen those 9 days!!!!
MrMmnngghh j
And season 4 just said fuck y'all let's time jump big again.
They should just rename it as "The Morgan Show"
Being former military.
Tank same but I mean we definitely know about the whole shoot em
In the head deal plus if Shit got wack like this I’m going to my family bc our government isn’t going to look after us and I’m not gonna be some dudes lunch 😂
Like military bases in remote areas and the navy? If all goes south?
Well of course intelligence branches would've known but that information can't be disclosed to the public because of the sheer amount of panic it would generate.
yeah but let say a grandma is dying and since everyone has the virus if the dying person died withough the brain destroyed the'll still turn
and the safe zones the military is keping and eye out but a grandma just died and starts eating her husband and these walkers are the season 1 walking dead walkers that happends everything is gone
they would know a headshot kills them but they have to kill every dying people and that would cause a protest cuse people still don't know what is happening
Thanks for watching!
blackdragon6 flashback scenes from I am legend did a good job at building a real tension including the crazies. I really loved 28 days later for that perspective of emptiness but budget must be mental to shoot that in a apocalyptic way. Sort of why I got bored with the walking dead there is so only so many times Georgia after the apocalypse can look interesting.
@@jameslyddall I would argue the animated shorts from the DVD extras was better than the whole movie of it am legends.
There is a movie called viral
(And more realistic)
I hate the fact that its so FUCKING stupid
right! get in an armored HMMWV and lock the door! they could sit in there all day long while communicating what to do!

Man oh man, do I have the book series for you!
3rd season was its second wind. thanks for nothing new showrunners.
Rember when it showed mexico that was the only thing it showed what happend when the boat left from usa to mexico
It was a virus from space..aka "alien" He said so during an interview. Thats what started it and thats how everyone was infected .

There are plenty of examples of a military being defeated when a new type of warfare is used.
What i find irritating is nobody on either TWD or FTWD seems to think, "hey, rather than get face to face to stab the zombie with a butterknife. I should make a 6ft spear."

No military can handle a country wide mass outbreak like this.

Jarod 1999 realistically the military wouldn’t be much. The soldiers would leave to family. They have families too so they wouldn’t really give a shit to go help. That’s the most realistic thing.
A twd Series from the perspective of the US President 😯
Still, in reality the military would’ve easily won against the walkers, they’re slow, their only plus is their numbers, also if they’re dead bodies which have reanimated they wouldn’t actually have the strength to bite through thick clothes
it makes it seem supernatural how they easily took over the world...... - Thanks for watching!
SparkySharky 1234 well they probably would be able to get through the clothing if a horde of them are trying to claw and bite you
You actually have the jaw strength to bite your own fingers off but your brain inhibits this potential because humans are idiots. Walkers don't have this problem, hence their supernatural strength.
SparkySharky 1234 I think the issue with walker bite strength really isn’t an issue, but the military should have fared better.
And body armor and boots and they cant get in a tank
Robert Kirkman was the reason why the first season of FTWD was so short and so sudden to jump from initial outbreak. He also convinced the writers to make that 9 day time jump in season one. He is also the reason why they did not end up explaining what caused the outbreak as he felt that was unnecessary. FTWD could have established so much of the early days if Dave Erickson was given free reign to write the story he wanted. Also originally FTWD was going to be called Operation Cobalt but that was scratched and instead we got Fear the Walking Dead.
Yeah Kirkman is never going to tell us what caused it
In TWD, the military isn't gone.
Are u Corporal Adam from the video? lol😂
Xbox corporal or a ps4 corporal...😂
Adam Shotts I think he was already out of the NG during that time and maybe his unit wasn’t informed
Really wish they went into more of the initial outbreak and the breakdown of society. Fear could've done so much more with that in season 1 and 2. We know That's not gonna happen now with the time skip, don't even get me started on that, lol. Great video as always!! Keep em coming! 💗💀
Thanks and thanks for watching!
apparently with Fear not even addressing the immediate events after the dam, we will never know anything now about it.
There is an E-book out there that does a good job covering an outbreak from the military/1st responder point of view. A Glimpse of Decay is the title.
@@j.j.3349 thank you!🙂
important thing to remember too is S-5 shows the end result of the napalm , it didnt actually kill all of the walkers, as much as melted them into the asphalt in some situations. a severed head alone could be fatal so even 90% burnt up walkers remain a threat...
the guv doesn't need operation cobalt.., all they need are half a dozen Daryls' on a rampage armed with knives, crossbows and bad breath.
hell they wont even need to feed them. they will survive out there on raw squirrel, earthworms and peanut butter
Yes!
Thanks for watching!
Well the girl tht created the Alexandra was part of the Congress. So she survived. Also everybody at the white house might have left on a Helicopter.
Thanks for watching!
F22 are primarily dogfighters and are next to useless in a zombie apocalypse 😑
You forgot to add nuclear weapons which would be used almost immediately if a zombie outbreak ever occurred
Thanks for watching!
(At least until he gets on the 🚁)
Influenza (Kseries) is coming out in June or July, where the boyfriend of Jisoo is a marine on leave.
I enjoyed All of us are dead
I would like to point out, Operation Cobalt started out as a way to secure more funding for the Department of Defense.
Spin Off Idea :
"The Walking Dead : Stories"
Basically a Show About How The Virus Originated And How The U.S Military Dealt With It.
TheWalking DeadExplained they’ll just milk as much money as they can then just stop making more episodes when they stop making money
It’s probably in the air the military is infected everybody is
Idk if you found out yet but turns out there were spores from a meteor apparently 💀
@@TonyG-ui1towait really?
I also think artillery would have played a key role. airburst artillery could take a slow moving horde down very quickly
Or a Russian TOS-1A Theromberic MLRS would of vaporized walkers with an effective range of 12km it's a good weapon system also FAB-500's soild kill thousands of them and level buildings
In Fear the walking dead season 1 episode 6 a solider said either no superiors left man, their no one.
The governments probably off the coast of San Francisco on an Oil Rig
Ciaga wey no they are in a emergency bunker
Ciaga wey of course they’re not, they’re obviously in underground vaults wearing blue jumpsuits
Fallout
They are savoring oil the last oil
And calling themselves the Enclave
Agreed. An E-4 would not know the intricate details of this operation. He would be told what to do and follow orders.
I would like to see a spin-off starting at the outbreak from the military’s perspective, transitioning through the seasons until it evolved into the CRM, the Commonwealth and other groups
Yep - that would be cool!
The worst part of FTWD was Madison playing the Karen card all the time. Post apocalypse, that shit wouldn't fly.
Karen being eaten by a walker: *I want to speak to your manager*
Station two man fire teams on the top of buildings at street intersections. Give them, a tent, food, water, twenty thousand rounds of ammo, and a loud air horn or siren. Use the siren to call in the hordes and pick them off. One shot one kill. Station teams every several city blocks and have a city cleaned out in no time.
0:31 that’s how catastrophes are, it seems like forever when it happens however it’s comes as quick as it goes.
I love Fear the Walking Dead, but especially loved the first season... super stressful/tense/scary without much gore.
finally someone appreciate it
I used to live just outside of Edward's Airforce base. That would've been nice during the walker apocalypse
Crazy how Andrew went from robbing banks with his brothers and nephew J to being a soldier during the zombie outbreak
Andrew moves quick
Officially the Military in TWD UNIVERSE is no more, however in the wiki its status is listed as unknown so you never know
Peter V yea your right
Yeah actually in TWD there's no more Military, in the past season we saw some military but as a walker, but there's the Commonwealth which is i think a part of the Governement
I think the military moved to the north with cold weather and snow mountain where the zombie apocalypse cant work there , the zombie will be freezed
Everone had the infection so when the millatarry droped boms it caused more zombies?
Yes
No and yes
If the bomb was by a horde it would kill the horde and any survivors near by destroying there body
So kills more but makes maybe 10 more
So yeah
Napalm would literally melt the zombies and people through the bone so no.
I never thought of that
People not near enough to the explosions to be incinerated but near enough to die from the hazardous fumes, the sonic boom’s impact, being thrown into something by the kinetic force or other indirect causes of the bombings, would indeed become walkers.
Do you not know how actual military grade bombs work? The sonic boom can and will indeed kill those outside the explosion dependent on the size of the bomb, and often it is the cause of more deaths than the explosive fires themselves.
For Adams knowing everything about Operation Cobalt, I remember a saying about the military:
First to go, last to know
ngl but the National Guard was surprisingly well researched.
Thanks for the comment - good info!
Left 4 Dead: 2 weeks after the first outbreak when shit hit the fan.
Walking Dead: 2 weeks after the first outbreak when shit hit the fan.
@@brandonkelly4709 to be fair it’s called the walking dead for a reason and there called walkers for a reason.

Thanks for watching!
Excellent. I'm glad I found your channel.
Thanks for watching!
I think the whole of season 1 should have been exploring the fall of society. They skipped 9 days and spent a lot of time in the camp.
When Rick is in Atlanta it dosn't look blown up at all.
Cuz the walkers fixed it, how nice of them to fix it
After the bombing of Atlanta I think the military send one chopper to see how much damage it did to the walkers and it did just 40% damage so the bombing was a complete failure so the military left Atlanta because the bombing wasn’t so successful and every city that has been overrun they bomb it hoping to finish all the infected but it didn’t work so the military left and never came back for city’s the military police fire fighters paramedics where overrun only a few survived and other regiments battalions just turned into a squad and soon after they left the people to fight for the selves only a few soldiers were alive so operation cobalt was failure and the bombing of city’s was deemed as a failure
To be honest, Cobalt should’ve succeeded. If only civilians weren’t selfish. Also that overrun stadium getting breached by the old man was the turning point. They could’ve won it..
Wonder if Maj General Beal gave the order to carry out Operation Cobalt? Just a thought.
22LR semi auto Rifle, with Silencer.. with a 410 Judge and 9mm backups. And Several Knives.
Thanks Renee! Much appreciated!
Yup The governor had that helicopter shot down with an M82 Barrett which is well within that weapon's capability and he ambushed an Army convoy. Ever since the 1st episode of the walking dead, I have always wondered how Hawaii and Alaska would fare in this situation.
From what we know, it is global, meaning all states and countries. Thanks for watching!
"The National Guard will save the day!"
Words which have never been said about anything by anybody even remotely familiar with the NG.
This is so interesting & good! I wish we could get a whole movie or spin off anthology like series just on the early outbreak of the zombie apocalypse.

Idk I just think of the game when the word urban comes up lol
The military losing to zombies will always be dumb I can't hold
2:06 what if she was the first infected person that got infected from another country and spread it to the other uninfected city
How do you know this?
3:06 that one soldier looks like shane😂
They should have kept how the society crumbled vague becouse when you get in to the details there is no plausable explanation how some rotting monsters that cant walk faster than a toddler did all this damage.
Ahmet Özdemir to be fair when there are groups of them they can overpower people. Especially considering guns need reloading and it takes skill to land headshots on something moving towards you. Also everyone is infected and turns into one. If people die for whatever reason they will return unless their brain has been destroyed.
We also learned in the submarine mini series that Chicago was supposed to be nuked but the crew refused the orders.
yep!
@@TWDExplained makes you wonder what other city's actually did get nuked.

I wonder if the mythical land of Wyoming exists in twd
@@Man_Aslume u saying that because we saw Rick and can't spell her name lol in Wyoming?

??? You gotta rephrase that man I have no clue what you meant
Without doubt.
agree
Really interesting and keep up the good work your my favorite UA-camr
Wow, thanks!
The biggest problem for the military would be figuring that everybody reanimates not just people bitten. Once they figured that out I really believe they could have built safe zones but then there wouldn't be a show.
In our world I agree
How the hell did the military lose control of the situation? Literally just sit on top of your APC or any tall object with boxes of ammo and just take your time to shoot any Walker that comes by.
I mean they move slow as hell anyway and with any kind of armored vehicle theres no way to lose
Because if the military won, there wouldn't be a show. Basically reverse plot armor
Next can you do a video explaining why killing off Carl was beneficial to the show?
*Napalms city*
*creates more Walkers but a little burnt*
A spin off or film that shows what happened from day one from a government / medical perspective
watch walking dead world beyond
Was there a specific reason for you using k in camp? I'm not knocking I was just curious if it had a purpose I didn't know about
me too im fascinated as well

Thanks for watching!
