What about the XBUS in comparison? Almost half of the price even though I love that canoo partnered with Tesla for the charging process… great advertisement bonus!
I remember the days when Tesla was the underdog and EVERYONE said they would fail. Now you just lump them in with every other manufacturer even though Tesla has no real competition. Every other EV ever released pales in comparison to a tesla model. Crappier batteries, less efficient motors that are less powerful and most likely less reliable in the long run. Tesla is king of the EV's and it will be quite a while before these schills produce anything that can actually be a competitor. Canoo is here with something new and it will benefit them in the long run as long as the quality control is there. Good luck Canoo! Hope you all show us all that you can stand next to giants!
Tesla is starting to fizzle out. The profits don't come from selling cars but from government tax credits. With more EVs entering the market, Tesla will lose its advantage.
Canoo will knock it out of the park with the pickup, and maybe with the van and utility. IF they can deliver a reliable vehicle and battery system at that price. I want the 2dr Pickup with the metal folding sides, just like the Army versions.
The military has an unlimited budget and they buy junk all the time. That's not a selling point. Can I go to the grocery without having to wait for a recharge for the trip home?
It's a revolutionary design that doesn't look like an 8 year olds drawing of a pick up. They seem to have thought about everything that you could ask for, in a roomy versatile cab, at a great price point. It just goes to show that Tesla aren't the only ones who can innovate. I just wish I could have had a Canoo when I was still working. The convenience would have been appreciated. I also wish I got a chance to enjoy the military version as I was enlisted during the time when they were using jeeps and gamma goats. I did get to paint the camouflage on the new vehicles when they changed to Bronco 2s and Hummers.
Very verbose and even some hyperbole but VERY light on facts, especially anything new. The headline says "It's here!" and yet we don't see any of these trucks on the road because they are not being manufactured for the public yet. Canoo still only has one manufacturing plant operational in Oklahoma and it's pumping out vehicles ONLY for fleet use. That's probably a smart business move for Canoo but it doesn't do anything for the public. The goal for 2023 was 23,000 vehicles but did they achieve that goal??? Even if they did, all those vehicles were destined for fleets. I would assume that even if Canoo can ramp up manufacturing, every vehicle it makes for quiet awhile will have to go to their fleet deals or they risk loosing money. I don't think the average pick-up owning guy or gal will be able to get one of these until 2025. Am I wrong?
Nope you're right. They appear to be dribbling them out to their commercial buyers. I have not seen exact numbers delivered to Kingbee, Zeeba last week or if Walmart has gotten any yet. I totally get their rationale. They're not ready to sell to the public yet. How would you get service? Drive to Oklahoma? No this makes sense. If you want one, and I do, you'll just have to wait. I heard 2025 at best. Also the range is 200 miles not 500. Price will be a little more than the top of the line LV model which is about 50K. They have a great product and I hope they can get going. Yeah I have stock too.
I have been looking at Canoo about 1 year before you made this video. After seeing other videos about Canoo, especially one with Sandy Monro's video take on Canoo's van, I decided to buy stock in Canoo. In fact, yesterday I bought more stock in Canoo for my grandsons and more shares for myself. I am considering replacing my 2008 hardtop convertible because I can no longer get certain parts for it. This truck and the van have so much going for it. At $35000, this is a very affordable EV and I like so many things about the Canoo van I like, that I am now hoping to buy one when they become available in my area. Because of snow in my area, I need front wheel or all wheel drive. If it comes with bi-directional charging, it could power my house with electricity when there is a power outage which happens several times a year here. The one thing I would love is battery swapping with Canoo like with NIO. But when batteries are swapped, they should only charge for the electricity. This is done with what Gogoro does in its battery swapping model.
I think that all of the people in the world should be concerned with "climate change" as a number one . The Canoo vehicles are definitely a great step in the right direction , although for me the two hundred mile driving range is a no go . I already own a 2023 Chevy Bolt euv that gets me around three hundred miles from each full charge and it cost less than $30,000 before the $7,500 tax credit . So instead of attacking the so called giants , Canoo should just build the vehicles that the world deserves . Because the world is bigger than America and the world is on life support . Every ev manufacturer is making a contribution , whether they be domestic or foreign is irrelevant or it should be as such . So we should all raise a glass to Canoo for the effort , because we only have one planet that we are capable of living on . "Geaux Canoo" , keep doin what cha doin , God bless us all , don't forget to recycle , happy Mardi Gras , that's the way love goes and I'm out 🎭
Price? 40 k = cargo van base, 50k = 7 passenger van. And don’t forget, graphite batteries are just over the horizon, which will double the range. Power? 2wd has 350 foot pound torque. And that’s over the entire rev range.
I have passed the #Canoo Factory in #OklahomaCity Oklahoma on my way to my drive to my home in the mid-Atlantic. I am quite proud it a US company, (Torrance, California) built in America! Especially to the West, capturing the pioneering spirit of so many who ventured westerly to discover our vast nation & possibilities!
The flatdeck on the military version will catch a lot of farmers and tradies eyes. The competition is designed by toy users, not work users. Even the Rivian which is the best size option for me is wellside only. If the Canoo has a footprint the same size or less than the Nissan Navara/Frontier, then a right hand drive option has a realistic sales prospect internationally.
I Like the Concept! IF Toyota Comes Thru with the same Platform? Im Going for Toyota! The Cross Country Infrastructure is Not Ready for Electric Vehicles!!! I'll keep my Eyes on this Company Though!
Canoo may go the way of Elio Motors if they don't actually start production. The value of the stock a few years ago was $14 a share. Now it is around 16 cents a share. The fleet deals are nice and you do see promo pictures of the Canoo fleet vehicles, have anyone actually seen them on the roads or in the wild? There comes a time in the design/ manufacturing phase where they need to quit fiddling with it and actually start production and sales. Having said all that, yes I want one and I have shares of stock in the company. I'm frustrated because I've lost money in this company's stock.
While I would vey much want this in passenger van version, I'm not impressed with the delivery of this video. Tons of hyperbole, tons of raining crap on the competition, and very little data.
Yeah, they could have done it with no speaking at all. Check out the new Toyota truck which is supposed to be less in price (no bells and whistles though) and will likely be delayed in being imported because the big 3 can't (or won't) make a truck that cheap. They don't want the competition. Still, this Canoo is a nice idea.
It would be nice if these could also be turned into RV charge stations, ie shore power. That would make it much more versatile and make it perfect for camping, etc
They need to make a civilian verson of the regular cab military verson with the flat bed. That would be the most usable truck on the market for people who want a work truck.
Guys, the wheels go behind the driver. Canter, Elf, Dutro, Titan, Dyna, Atlas, Forland, Mighty...I could go on. Look at any truck in Asia; they're built correctly.
Even as an auto enthusiast in the west, knowledgeable of global brands, I've never heard of any of these. WTF you talking about? There's "cabover" which is an old ICE thing but even that isn't "wheels go behind the driver".
Make it hybrid AND with solar panel skin on the topside and we’re there !!! My God, for the life of me I don’t know what the resistance is to incorporating solar into these vehicles. SMART PEOPLE did this back in the 70’s. Good Lord help us.
Just ask Rivian. Apparently it costs $35k just to replace one of the giant unibody side panels that can get damaged in a minor dent, a fender-bender. One of these EV channels demonstrated that recently.

Still not confronting the affirmentioned charging time. Or that EV’s are more detrimental to environment than fossil fuels. That said, it is “ Cool.” Though I question why this ‘Canoo’ literally looks like a Japanese Kei truck. Yet we can’t make those road legal unless they’re 25+years old here in the US.
I've been a fan since they appeared on the scene. My excitement has waned because of the slow roll out. Wake me up when they actually start producing anything other than promo vehicles.
Tesla promised us an innovative and affordable pickup truck, unlike anything we've ever seen. They have only partially made good on that promise. At twice the price and a few innovations short, it is a most disappointing situation. The cannoo is very interesting, but I'm not holding my breath on this one either.
How much can it tow? Tryna high tail it outa sticky situation under load of military grade devices... thats gota slow it down or throw off deferentials
(The engineer(s) is/are genius )It’s nice but they should make it a hybrid variant ,have a small engine to maintain the battery charge. Until the battery technology gets better, if at all, keep under $20,000 along with future battery(S). the batteries should get 600 to 700 miles per charge. And away to keep the batteries warm in the winter cool in the summer, have the charging infrastructure throughout the US and every where else across the world. How about if you have to repair the body that is another problem. (Look at tesla what a nightmare )if you buy one who can service the vehicle? If so who is certified to work on the vehical? I love the truck and its versitality of it .I want to buy one but until they figure out these issues then I will buy one.
I’m crazy, but I love the canoo Just as long as you’re allowed to purchase it in the beginning, they wanted you to just lease it and never on it. My thoughts were forget it but if you can on it, I want one.
People hate the look of cybertruck. I like it. But this thing? Doesn't look good or bad. 35k? I'd have to see the other options for that price to determine if its good or not
Too much kitschy little garbage will inflate the price of this truck beyond affordability. The narrator says "SIMPLE", and then shows all these crazy little fold out compartments that NO ONE NEEDS OR WANTS. Give me a good infotainment system, heated mechanical seats and steering wheel, full safety features, and a 250 mile winter range with the cab at 68 degrees, and that's literally ALL I WANT in a vehicle. My Chevy Bolt hits the mark on all of these. It would be nice to have a pickup with the same truly "SIMPLE" design.
A great looking and practical EV truck. Of all the EVs out there this would be the one for me. And the price is really good. But I'm retired and on a fixed income so a new vehicle is not in my future. :(
No vehicles in the last 30+ years are EMP-proof. Would be nice to see on the spec sheet tho right? I wonder how much that shielding would add to the price, since ECUs are basically indispensable at this point.
Value and practicality require an actual product, Jeff. Their production estimates keep slipping. Show me a couple dozen trucks rolling off their production line every hour, then we can talk.
Few questions that come to mind after seeing this advertisiment. How much would scrach or dent repair cost on this thing? Will customer 35k version really have 500miles range or close to it? When it is available in EU? Are they planning to let local repair shops do electric work too or is it something that needs their specific tech to fly over(adds weeks to car repair time and rises costs). How much is range loss does weather do and I mean Nordic Europe weather where it changes from +30 to -30 celcius. I was about to buy sono motors one that was like 20k euros but that company went under. Now Canoo is 35k and it isnt 100%sure that it will deliver. Also 35k not breaking bank is bit nasty way of saying that it dont cost much compared to other EVs. Here I can buy 2 single person apartments with 35k and maybe even have some left over. So in my mind it is still expensive as it is almost my full yearly salary.
I’m sorry to say but as much as I love the Canoo collection of EVs, they’re not strong enough to run against the plethora of EVs around and those to be…😢
yadda yadda! i reserved on e 5 yrs ago with no signs of getting one soon. alo have shares $4 a share now 0.18 a share i think the company wont pull thru unless apple buys it
I have yet to hear 500 miles of range for any vehicle actually coming out. Definitely not canoo. They have posted a targeted "200+" range. Range is the single largest downfall of every ev truck. When you take into account you have effectively 80% of useable battery (unless they use lfp batteries) and 20% range loss in the cold, if you aren't able to charge every night to your highest rate of charge, you WILL find yourself stranded if you have a destination to a rural area for whatever reason. And obviously long car trips are a pain in the ass.. I am speaking from experience here owning a model 3 sr+. Every manufacturer needs to be targeting 300+ if they want people to seriously consider them, especially for towing or long range trips... Towing will drop your range below 100 miles on a 250 mile battery and this has been shown across numerous models. Simply not doable. I'm not sure where you pulled 500miles of range from, but if true this won't be as much of an issue but I seriously doubt it since not even tesla has held up their projected 500+ miles of range originally quoted
Tesla Cybertruck is Steer by wire. Big saving IMHO. No need to install a steering column through the front firewall as well as all the pieces for that. East to make left or right hand drive. I think all cars will be going this way.
I still prefer a gasoline powered truck - e.v. are of little use in cold conditions - e.v. are fine here in INDIA - but can't see them in Siberia or Canada
All comes down to price. Doesn’t matter how great it is, if people can’t afford it
I truly feel that Conoo gets it and is seeing the need for a affordable good EV that average person can buy.
@@steveb6287 Canon is nearly dead broke. The reason why they’ve been talking for the last three years is because they have the talking part down pat.

Everything sounds nice, but the major thing I'm worried about is repairability. With a unibody construction how are you going to repair panels
The same way you repair the 90% plus other unibody designed vehicles on the road today. There is nothing new to see here.

Best value and amazingly practical. Is a bit too weid looking for me, but will try not to look at it too much.
Ah yes Walmart and the US military. Just like us. Sigh.
I’m sorry to say but as much as I love the Canoo collection of EVs, they’re not strong enough to run against the plethora of EVs around and those to be…😢
They will not hit market at $35k and upgrades will quickly land you at double that PRICE
I down almost 80% on the EV company lordstown endurance pickups. I can’t even buy more shares. I can only sell and lose 80-90% of my cash
They need to offer a gasoline or diesel powered version, or Hydrogen powered. EV's will be going the way of the Do Do.
You said it's here.....but it isn't. It simply will not happen at $21k.
500 miles goes a long way towards range anxiety in australia
I would buy one of these if it is available in RH drive!
I can't wait to see if I can fit into it.
yadda yadda! i reserved on e 5 yrs ago with no signs of getting one soon. alo have shares $4 a share now 0.18 a share i think the company wont pull thru unless apple buys it
Its here? Where? They haven't even built the first vehicles they said they were going to make prior to the truck.
How can I test drive it
I gave up waiting and now that I will see them as Mail trucks and Walmart vehicles smh yeah I'm done waiting.
I like it, but until you can charge an ev in less than 10 minutes, it's still impractical and won't be adopted. It doesn't make our lives easier.
When can we buy one?
Great video
I wish they mad it with an ICE. Not going to buy a EV until that is the only thing left
It's goofy looking and I like it.
Their website says 200 miles not 500.
Availability???
I'm disappointed that it can only seat 2, not 3 people.
drive and break by wire... can't imagine what could go wrong there.
Planes are all fly by wire.
Tesla Cybertruck is Steer by wire. Big saving IMHO. No need to install a steering column through the front firewall as well as all the pieces for that. East to make left or right hand drive. I think all cars will be going this way.
I still prefer a gasoline powered truck - e.v. are of little use in cold conditions - e.v. are fine here in INDIA - but can't see them in Siberia or Canada
well.....we'll see...........just waiting..........
