Rupert is arguably the best character of all time. No one has ever embraced a season's theme like this guy has. In PI he truly believes he's a pirate, I think if the theme isn't about pirates he probably doesn't steal Morgan's shoes, that's how into the theme he was. In All Stars he feels he's an all star, in HvV he talks about how he's a hero. Even though he went first in BvW he showcased the theme by laying his own life down for his wife. He's not a very good player nor will he ever be, and as far as winning the game goes I'd put him damn near the bottom, but I'd have a hard time finding someone who played to the season's themes like Rupert.
Rupert’s game in Heroes vs Villains is incredibly overlooked to me. Strategy wasn’t there, but he was usually on the right side of the vote, got along with the villains besides Rupert, and made it farther than most
I have always been a Rupert fan. He was such a good fit for his original season. Rupert is one of those people who genuinely seem to love being a castaway.
@@OnceUponAnIsland there are players like Rupert who have a difficult time winning because they can't stop being themselves. I like that quality but that is not always rewarded.
Living under Rupert's shelter must have been terrifying for the contestants but oh man, it's one of my favorite scenes in the show's history, it's the best of survivor dark humor.
i think Rupert's spot in the Survivor Hall of Fame is undeniable, however i do feel like as time goes on he becomes a bit more unlikeable with every season he's in
My original favorite how can you not love the pirate! His game is so relatable with how much people would play. Which unfortunately is a dumb strategic game
For me it was fluctuating. Loved him in Pearl Islands, thought he was kinda meh in All-stars, great in Heroes vs Villains, and didn't have a chance to maneuver in BvW so meh again.
Tbf, if she keeps Rupert, she chances going home in a rock draw which is always risky, even if she did survive it, going to the finale with Rupert is a guaranteed loss for her! But yeah, I get what you’re saying
I live not far from Rupert in indiana and met him a frw times at his arcade in shelbyville and he seems like a real good dude. Still a youth mentor and still wears the tie dye
I agree, Rupert was unable to see his flaws from his last game (due to back to back), therefore it must have been hard for him to find out what his flaws were, and how to improve from there. I guess I’m some ways it could relate to Russel and how he didn’t win in the finale either time, though I thought Russel deserved Samoa. That’s just my opinion

Oh Rupert is my all time favorite 😁 You could just tell the guy has a heart of gold 💜 Is he perfect? No one ever is... But he has integrity and fortitude! I remember being so sad when he was voted out on his first go around. I wanted him to win and I do think if he had made it to the end he would have no doubt won the million! He has a special place in my heart to this day 💜
I really wish Jerri had said something specific about the shelter instead of just, "It's a bad idea." I don't think she actually gave rationale as to why it's a bad idea
Probably someone who benefited the most from a very glowing edit but the first episode of Pearl Islands, (Beg, Barter, or Steal) is one of the very best episodes of SURVIVOR ever and is the reason I keep it high on my list of seasons to watch for newbies. Rupert plays a role in that with the shoes, he is a larger than life character that greatly contributes to and leans into the theme of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if they modeled the season around Rupert, but I don't think they did stuff like that early on like they do now (I read that Pat influenced the theme for David vs. Goliath).
Eh, honestly I'm mixed on Rupert this season. I thought he did great socially (well most of the time anyway) but I think that he should have made the move to get Rob and Amber out at final 5. Think about it, Amber and Rob would have voted for Tom, Tom still would have voted for Jenna and Rupert and Jenna voted for Amber since Rob had immunity. It would be a tie between Amber and Tom, they couldn't vote, those 2 could easily get Amber out on the re-vote. Rupert would most likely win final 4 immunity since he was the closest next to Amber who was gone which would leave Rob to get voted out. And he could have been in a position to win the whole game here. Just my opinion. Thinking about the many ways that All Stars could have been a better season is annoying.
What I'm shocked is that Rob didn't vote Rupert out when he sees Tom was loyal -- I agree, then moment Rupert knew about Tom being the target, he probably should've exposed Rob, although I'm not sure if he's that nuanced to pick that out.
Considering Rupert was the favourite from the previous season and the stacked field I’d say Rupert had a much more difficult game to play this time around and overall did play a much better game in comparison

It's so weird that nobody thought about getting rid of Rob and Amber. Even when it would have been easy. The individual immunity can't protect two people at once, so blindsiding them would have worked no matter what?(And no hidden immunities to worry about) Then we'd have atleast gotten actually two potential winners, than just Rob wins even when he loses kind of ending. Not saying it doesn't make good tv or that Rob and Amber didn't deserve the win, but come on. it was obvious they were going to the end together and nobody wanted to even try. Even though Rob went out of his way to belittle people at times. Feels like Robs gameplan is always the same from season to season. Win through strong social manipulation. And it either works cause he has sheep around him that are unwilling to blindside him or too dumb to notice he is using everyone. Or he's on a season where people see his aggressive manipulation and he's voted out fairly early. Either he gets the perfect bunch of people around him or he fails. Not saying it's bad but he kinda stuck to that idea in all four seasons he was in. His first season he lost out to another strong player, and then HvV he lost the war against Russel. His winner season and semi winner season he had more passive people who seemed to trust him for no reason and even when people pointed it out they just shrugged and said "No"
Considering the fact that all of them are returning characters. It really baffles me how all of them were that naive. Aquaman.... If this title refers to the DC comics character of the same name, I must respectfully disagree . Arthur Curry (Aquaman) is a man of great dignity, intelligence, honor, respect, and nobility. He is king of Atlantis, husband to the beautiful Xebelian Lady (later Queen) Mera, and father to at least two children in the comics. He is a superhero skilled in both undersea and land based combat, and he is one of the most powerful metahumans in the world. He is also fictional. Rupert Boneham is a ex-reality show contestant, an above average fisherman, and a strong survivalist. He has also shown himself to be an egotistical blowhard at times, a subpar strategist, a raging crybaby, and a wannabe superman/pirate. He is no king of Survivor, and his skillset proved to be more and more obsolete , and his flaws more and more pronounced each subsequent time he played. If Rupert Boneham is Aquaman, Donald Trump is Chinese.

@@OnceUponAnIsland If I can get my wife interested in the show I just might look into those seasons.
28 is on Netflix. Seasons 12-28 are on Amazon Prime. 1-34 is on Hulu and of course all 40 are on Paramount Plus.
You said there were 2 former winners but there is Eathen richard and Tina so that is three
2 former winners on Rupert's tribe. Tina and Ethan. There 4 total former winners in the game.
OH IM LATE BUT YES!! TEAM BLACKBEARD!!
Rupert "Pirate" Boneham
I couldn't see why Rob or amber weren't voted off much earlier so foolish I didn't understand it
Has there ever been a 4th place finisher who had less of an impact on their season than Rupert in All Stars?
Top of my head...
Season 2 - Elisabeth
Season 6 - Butch
Season 11 - Lydia
Season 22 - Ashley
Season 26 - Eddie
@@OnceUponAnIsland all good contenders! It just always sticks out to me how popular Rupert was yet had so little impact on how that season played out.
I would have took the tennis shoes too 🤷
Allstars was my favorite season, but Jenna Lewis was my least favorite part, her attacking the winners made the season worse imo. If she was first boot, that would be amazing.
I’VE BEEN BUILDING HOUSES FOR 25 YEARS!!!
rock draw was 50/50 then if rupert won him and jenna could go to the final 2. trying to win immunity final 3 she had slim chances lol
What if it was his plan all along to kill his team to be merged haha
I honestly find Rupert really aggressive and hot tempered. Dont really see the heroic thing. And one of your points for hero wasnhim saying he could light the fire with a lighter?
Because that was a joke by him and jokes are positive moments in a story.
Am I the only one that thinks that Chapera's shelter looks like it's made by junk?
I don't know if I like Boston rob or I just think he is a good player
How was jenna a villain in borneo?
She was portrayed pretty negatively from what I recall.
Mark Burnett even said she was cast to be a villain.
I didnt know he casted her for that. Interesring that they would cast the young single mother as the villain.
Rupert won 1 million $ at the reunion???? Not 100k like all the others?
America's Tribal Council
But we won tho, on fan vote.
5 best players to never win
1. Malcolm
2. Ozzy
3. Russell
4. Spencer
5. Rupert
Cirie???
Has the “provider” strategy ever worked? Ugh. He’s a great hero, but a dim, unintuitive player.
I have a feeling this guy has a *_slight_* bias against Boston Rob
Rupert or me? Because I made an hour and 23 minute video all about him and Amber and their incredible story.
@@OnceUponAnIsland More or less just the clip at 27:17, lol
I mean that is the right move to make and it needed to be made sooner lol
Wait... so technically, Amber survived the car curse.
Technically she didn't win the car. Richard was given a car in season 1 as well.
Hmm... I was thinking of the situation with Yaoman and Dreams, since Yaoman gave him the car and they got double whammied. XD
But I forgot that Hatch also got a car.
Hero. Smart. Dumb. 😂
I love Rupert but he isnt that smart. I mean come on who the hell would build a underground shelter in the sand on the beach???? Rupert thats whos.
boston rob is the DEFINITION of an alpha. piping the hottest girl on the show then making fun of everybody else, being a beast in challenges, and still going to the final
ok I never watched this but wow I dont like Rob
Watch my beauty and the beast video. Your tune will change.
He's definitely someone who can dish it out but can't take it.
It refers to Boston Rob calling him Aquaman which is in this video.
@@OnceUponAnIsland Ah yes, I forgot he mentioned it in this season. It's been such a long time since I've seen it. Still, Rupert got a million out of Survivor by the fan vote.
Im cringing
