🙌🏽🙌🏽Thank you beautiful! I’m single and joining with three children. Ages 9,6,3. And you’re right We dont have to give up custody. Dependent waiver just got approved ☺️
Seita J Sooo tech school you won’t have your kids so that part won’t matter. Once you’re operational like at an actual base the best jobs for like mon-fri daytime jobs would be like anything medical, finance, personnel (office jobs). Some jobs like communications, radio maintenance and stuff work the some times but you may be on call sometimes.
Thank you! 😊 and if they were to try to push me towards mechanic work? Do you know if any of those are more so 9-5? I was thinking something like structural. I considered HVAC but it looks like the might deploy a lot.
Thank you so much !!!!! I needed to come across this video . I’m going in as a single mom and hoping to be leaving for Basic training in March of 2020 I have two children as well !! And I have been searching for a video like this and it was just out right in front of me !! Thank you so much God bless you and your family & the best of luck
your so inspirational... im 24 and a sigle mother after i saw your video i took the asvab and scored a 57.. my sons dad and i have a custody agreement and hell keep our son while i do bmt and tech school. im waiting tod o my medical hopefully i get it done in the next two weeks and i plan on goin in open general.. just to get an earlier ship date .. im not too picky about the job i get.. but thatnks soo much for all the information its been a big help
I'm going thru the same process as you, joined army 4 years ago but got out before tech school, now trying to join air force and now a single mom of two...hows the process going for you ?
You give me life, and I'm trying to follow I you or footsteps thank you so so so much! I love your videos & this one inspired me to pick my head up. I'm trying to join & im 19 w a 2yo. I'm a single mom but the court documents are holding me back. Everything is in place but just that bump in the road. I'm going to do it & I'm glad you post videos to keep me going!
Thank You so much for this inspiring video! I wanted to join the Military straight out of high school (10 yrs ago), but I had a low score on my Asvab. I tried again in 2006. Low score again! I’m in my 30s now Single, with 2 kids and I’m motivated to try to join the military again. Preferably the AF!
Hi so I'm actually in the process of doing that as well but a few questions do you have the risk of the father fighting to change custody while you're away?
Would you say this is still the case? I really want to go into the Air Force, and I have 2 boys 15 & 8... and I would have a plan with my kids. I regret not joining right out of high school.... and what to try before it gets too late, now that they changed the age range.
Vickie Cardenas The age of your kids really doesn’t matter, what matters is if you’re in the age bracket to join and if you have someone to keep them while you leave for training and possible deployments.
Thanks for this video. I'm a single mom I just graduated college a couple of weeks ago. I'm a certified medical assistant with 48 college credits. I'm looking into joining the Military I can enlist as a E3 with my college credits.
Great video, your videos are so informative but I would love to know more about the waiver that you got approved. What did you have to do? How long did it take to get approved?
Being a single parent do we still have to go thru the court system to give temp custody of our kids...how quick do you get your kids back after tech school and basic
Michelle Ivory So I left my kids with their mom. Their dad was still involved but no custody agreement was made. I had a family care plan that I made with my recruiter
My tech school was about 2 months so after that I went straight home and got my kids. I was home for about 20 days and then we left for my duty station together.
Shaquiera Stewart hey love no not really, most peoples leadership is understanding of your baby being sick as long as you have the proper paperwork showing you took them to the dr
It'll get approved soon. Since it has to be approved through like a chain of command it can take time just because it's waiting on people's signatures but other than that you should be fine as long as you have a solid family care plan.
Hey I want to contact you, have inspired this single mom... Last Thursday i just step into the airforce office and over the weekend i have done things i had to do prior going back next Tuesday
Hey can you tell me your recruiters information? My local office is not having it. I’m in south Florida. And I’ll drive to meet someone who is willing to help me.
Elizabeth Cooper Hey, my recruiter is in Gainesville Fl. He’s about to PCS to another base out of the country but there’s another recruiter in the office with mine that I’ve heard good things about. Contact the Gainesville office, just google the number.
Hey girl love your videos! 💚😁 i got a question. If I have a c section scar from giving birth and it was 6 years ago, do I need paper works for that for meps or I’m disqualified?
Hi There Hi hun, that's a really good question. Both of my kids were vaginal births but do not believe so just because it wasn't an illness or anything that you had to have surgery for it was for a birth. I really don't think they would ask for paperwork but check with your local recruiter. He/she would know exactly what needs to be done in that situation.
Thank you for this video you game me hope. Do you know how old the perf your child to be cause I plan on joining maybe a couple months after have my child I’m currently pregnant but I always wanted to go and I would hate to give up that dream
Oshiaaa Moo No problem hun, I would say probably about a year old but I suggest speaking with your recruiter. They’ll be able to give you an exact answer.
Do you work odd hours or would you say it’s normal daycare hours? I’m working on getting my waiver signed and I don’t wanna have to get a job with weird hours
My job works odd hours, I work nights sometimes. If you want a mon-fri daytime job I highly suggest doing your research and talking to your recruiter. You could do an office position, maintenance, communications just to name a few.
Anonymous Gal I’ve never heard that but I have heard 6 months. My sons were way older than that when I left so I didn’t have an issue. Check with your local recruiter.
I really want to enlist but my son's father is a nightmare will try to keep my son away from me and won't accept my calls etc if I have to leave him in his care....does it have to be the other parent or can it be a grandparent that keeps the kids?
@@shantavia8858 This is what I pray I can do...but he is "supposed" to get my son every other weekend but only comes when he feels like it...but...he HATES me and will make my life Hell...my mom could make my son available on those weekends tho...🤔🤔 How long was your Basic and Tech School?
jshaianne26 I was away for a total of 4 months 8 weeks of BMT and 2 months for tech school. I wouldn’t advise you to leave until you work that situation out. The last thing you want is for your son to be with your mom and he take him from like school or something and she can’t get him back because he’s the parent. I didn’t have that issue.
Taliyah Hudson So I graduated tech school, went home on leave and to get my babies and then we moved to my first base. I applied for daycare/before&after school prior to me getting to my base so once I got there they were already approved. I signed my lease on base the day I arrived because I did the application for that early too.

This is awesome. I am thinking of rejoining now, two kids later, and a single parent! Cheers to whoever put this in play. Thanks for this video

This video has definitely eased my mind about join the AF as a single mommy. Thank you and I can’t wait to see more uploads from you!
Jessica Ronquillo Awww thanks I’m glad this helped you.
Very helpful, was very hard to hear you over the music though
Ashleigh Janssen I’m sorry love, I filmed a new one tonight itll be up soon
I just wanted to thank you for the information on the waiver. It's been so hard to find info for single parents joining the military.
Hi so I'm actually in the process of doing that as well but a few questions do you have the risk of the father fighting to change custody while you're away?
No, you have to be present for him to fight you for custody. Even then, you can still join with joint custody
Please make more videos there's not alot of single mom stuff on UA-cam .

Yes
I'm late, but I'm considering joining and this was very helpful being that I have a 3 year old little girl!! Thanks!!

Another question who watches you kids on your shift . Can you make a video best jobs for single moms ? And how much is baby sitting for you ? :(
The Air Force provides child care. They have a "day care" on base for airmen with children
Also, how much you pay depends whether you are E1 E2, etc. The lower rank you are they less you pay
Question: What’s the process when a child get sick? Is it hard or impossible to take off for your babies. If you don’t have anyone living with you?
Shaquiera Stewart hey love no not really, most peoples leadership is understanding of your baby being sick as long as you have the proper paperwork showing you took them to the dr
How long did it take for your waiver to be accepted
Alysia Lucas About a little over a month, it has to be signed by a lot of higher up people.
