Hi Pirate Handyman! My garbage disposal is working...its turning on and flushing waste down. However, it water is backing up on both sides of double sink. I did what you shared on another video regarding taking p or u shaped pipes apart. I even washed them out to clear any sediments. I saw no clogging in any pipe parts. I plunged both sides the first time and also put ice cubes in disposal side to clean blades. Please advise. Thanks so much 🙏
Aye, matey, sounds like the clog could be in the drain piped that goes into the wall, possibly behind the wall. Look at the video below, and snake out the drain pipe as far back as you can. If this doesn't work, I'm afraid you'll need to call a plumber. ua-cam.com/video/8XqTBy5DKRY/v-deo.html
Hey Pirate Handyman, I’ve got two questions. 1. When I take a shower most of the water doesn’t come through the shower head which leaves me with less pressure. 2. Plus my water doesn’t stay hot for very long, any ideas? Thanx
Well, the first issue is most likely mineral deposits that have built up in the shower head. Take the shower head off, then soak it in a cleaner, like Limeaway. Let it sit for a few hours, then rinse it out with hot wat. The second problem may have to do with your water heater. How old is the water heater? Have you ever drained it to get rid of the mineral deposits? We have a video on how to do that. You might try that first. If you still have a problem after doing that, you might have to call a professional.
I did not know that! I’ve always just taken a big flat blade screwdriver and gave it a whack on the topside of the blade 🤣 now I know the proper way👍🏽
Aye, lass, glad ye found it helpful - smooth sailin'!
