to give you some context, wicked is a very successful broadway musical that’s been running for over 20 years, and this is the film adaptation for it. the whole story is about how the wicked witch of the west and glinda the good were friends and how life took them down their separate paths. this was the story that basically started the trend of villain origin stories, so disney basically copied wicked with things like maleficent and cruella lol. this movie is only part 1 as they are splitting the story into two parts movie wise. part 1 is more of the prequel, but part 2 actually takes place alongside the wizard of oz. hope this helps 😊
