Seriously need to get me a kayak again! forgot how much fun I use to have, once I got my boat I forgot about how up close and personal it is on the water, sneaking up on fish etc. For all of us who love to fish but work 5-6 a week we watch your videos vicariously, again thank you. I think I might know your neighborhood I do hvac for residential, but no worries it's safe with me..lol
Mark. Leave the drive locked while using it. That locking tab is designed to break if you hit anything and protect the drive unit. I always carry an extra locking tab with me, as well as a shear pin, prop, nut and washer and a wrench.
Nice to see you out in the Old Town rig. Fantastic to see you land some fish. Not sure if I would like the pedaling idea. Not quite sure on the shortness of it, be interesting to see it in rougher waters. Well enough chatter looking forward to the next comparison vid!
Try cooking that flounder in the broiler! Score the flounder then add spices, lemon slices, butter and worcestershire sauce, not to much. Cook for about 20 minuets in the broiler not covered. You will love it.
i also have this kayak and am struggling with the cheap cart i am using. do you have a recommendation on a good cart for this boat. ive had people recommend the ctug.
Nice quick review on the Old Town PDL, Mark. You still need to make a wheeled storage cart for stowing the kayak(s). It'll save stowing and lifting them off the garage floor to your truck. Just roll up to the truck bed extender, slide 'em in and out. Saves on loading/unloading time.....and wear & tear on the back.
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I love any help you can offer me.
@Atticus Langston i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Looking forward to more videos of this kayak. I purchased one on preorder from Austin kayak on Aug 23rd. Still waiting for it to ship. Pretty amazing that you got one for free already, while others are still waiting for theirs to ship. I'm jealous.. Fishing season is pretty much done for me up here in Washington, until spring. We already got snow. So it will be my winter project getting it setup for spring, if it ever arrives that is.
I really hope that you put this yak through its paces and take it out in some choppier water ( as safely as possible of course) and tell us how it feels. It's a very tempting buy right now and I think your I for would really be appreciated.
Gald to see the rain has stopped for you to go fishing I was wondering if and Nick were ever going to be albe to get back to fish good for u making it work
awesome kayak really considering the pdl. i love fishing seabrook i work at the water plant sometimes. i always bring my rod everytime i do a job there lol
Been waiting on the first video of the new yak! Seems fantastic! Ive been looking at a lot of kayaks lately, something for the winter when my boat will be used much less. May have to check one of these out. Awesome video like always. Great info!
Congrats on getting that yak man! Just saw that one after watching this one. Also saw that you fished TB in Sabine Pass, i live in the area if you’re ever looking for someone to fish with. Don’t have me a PD in my Wildy Radar just yet though, would have a heck of a time keeping up!
I tossed back and forth between the Topwater and the Hobie Outback 2019 and got the Hobie, but I have always wondered if I would have like the PDL. I had an Slayer Propel 10 and sold it because It bothered my hips peddling longer distance. To you like the PDL better now?
I have had my kayak for about 6 months. Just recently I have noticed a small amount of water in the hull. I’m hoping it is coming in through the rudder cable holes. When you had this boat did you ever notice this happening? I didn’t notice it the first few months. Wondering whether to contact old town or not
Enjoyed the video. Do you think the pedal drive will be in the way when you're in the marsh and have it raised? Doesn't look like there's much room to land a fish with the drive raised.
I really appreciated your videos on the actual use of the Old Town Topwater PDL. I'm thinking about ordering one and I was curious if you have a paddle recommendation - brand, style & size?
How deep is it out there? I’ve got a small jon boat I load in the bed of my truck with a little outboard. Was curious if deep enough to run out there? I’ve never pulled in there on my bay boat so I wouldn’t know!?
Hey, Mark, is this kayak OK to use in the shallow marsh? I'm just getting started in this type of fishing. Looking to buy 2, one for the wife and one for myself.. So lookimg for something that's not to high dollar but going to be efficient.. When the drive is up and you're push pulling thru the shallow, does it bring in to much water thru the opening?
In your opinion, what would be a good kayak to get started on? I'm working with about 4k for a couple kayaks.. The Outback would be nice but i don't think i have the budget for one right now.
I have experience with the slayer 10 propel and it’s stable enough for my 300lbs butt and all my gear to stand up and fish is.... The Titan is the Slayers big brother.... And when I say big brother I mean it... the titan 10 is like 20lbs heavier than the slayer 10.... Sounds like a great deal if it have the Boonbox landing gear... Only other upgrade that I would say you would need the is the Boondox rudder.... The native Propel system is very quiet unlike the PDL that is very grindy sounding...
Unfortunately it is in a bad location if your planning on hauling in the back of your truck and resting the rudder area on your tailgate and the nose on the roof of your truck... other than that it’s not bad, especially if you buy the boondox rudder system cause the boondox is metal and the OEM rudder is plastic...
what a good video like the boat but check the peddles i have heard bad thing about them wearing and falling out of the hole that they are in but great video as all ways
Shimano Calcutta Conquest 100. I have two of them and they’re super tough. Been using them for nearly two years. I’ve only had to replace the drag washer.
looked stable for sure. haha... I could see your habit of putting the rod in your forward facing holding was frustrating your muscle memory... just a few modifications then the kayak will be like home.
Hello mr mark can u please tell. Me the information on the hogie baits that you an nick use I would like to order some is there a website are phone number I can call thanks an tight lines brother

Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t know if it would break loose.
MDLR Fishing any other questions about this kayak let me know and I will get you an answer. You’re gonna love it.
Nice to see you out in the Old Town rig. Fantastic to see you land some fish. Not sure if I would like the pedaling idea. Not quite sure on the shortness of it, be interesting to see it in rougher waters. Well enough chatter looking forward to the next comparison vid!
i wish all fisherman would be respectful to the ocean as you are.. thanks for sharing
Good to see somebody enjoying themselves
Thanks 🙏
love your excitement, like a kid on Christmas morning!
Nice kayak, even better price. Yea flounder will bump wait bump again then set the hook .
Try cooking that flounder in the broiler! Score the flounder then add spices, lemon slices, butter and worcestershire sauce, not to much. Cook for about 20 minuets in the broiler not covered. You will love it.
Great review, the color of that kayak really pops when you see it in person. Nice 10 foot yak great price- looks super fun!
Nice setup, one word of friendly advice is don't use a scupper cart as it can damage the kayak, unless it's recommended by the manufacturer.
i also have this kayak and am struggling with the cheap cart i am using. do you have a recommendation on a good cart for this boat. ive had people recommend the ctug.
@@MrRedskindiehard I made one for my seaghost from PVC, it rests in the scupper channels on bottom of yak, then I strap it down.

@Atticus Langston It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass!
@Leonardo Walker Happy to help xD

Ha! Troy Owens. Good dude. Sweet little yak Mark.
Sweeeeeeet 😎 been biting at the bit for this video. Can't wait to see how you trick it out. Thanks for sharing
These are on back-order at ACK. I imagine they are on back-order most places.
I really hope that you put this yak through its paces and take it out in some choppier water ( as safely as possible of course) and tell us how it feels. It's a very tempting buy right now and I think your I for would really be appreciated.
Topwater is a good looking kayak! Thanks for the overview. As always, love the videos.
Looking forward to testing one out very soon. Great video bud keep doing what your doing and keep them lines tight!!!
Was looking at one at marine sales (Dallas) Saturday .....
Weight and size are important... seems just right.....
Great business!
MarineR
I like you truck bed extender made of 2 -3" pvc it looks like. How did you attach it to your bed of the truck? Did you do a video on it? Great video!
Been waiting on the first video of the new yak! Seems fantastic! Ive been looking at a lot of kayaks lately, something for the winter when my boat will be used much less. May have to check one of these out. Awesome video like always. Great info!
Very nice Mark, looks like a great Yak!
Did anyone notice how buried the skidsteer was at 15:17 lol

During inclement weather, small amounts of water will find its way in.
Enjoyed the video. Do you think the pedal drive will be in the way when you're in the marsh and have it raised? Doesn't look like there's much room to land a fish with the drive raised.
Good quick review. Im 10 minuyes from that spot. Im going to purchase a vibe seaghost 130 at the begining if the year
Looks like a good value? Thanks Mark! Keep'em tite!
I really appreciated your videos on the actual use of the Old Town Topwater PDL. I'm thinking about ordering one and I was curious if you have a paddle recommendation - brand, style & size?
I use the in hull access for attaching my emergency kit/toiletries and my 360 light to the lid! I'll send photo of mine if interested. Semper fi!!
Rah!
That one beautiful kayak!!
How deep is it out there? I’ve got a small jon boat I load in the bed of my truck with a little outboard. Was curious if deep enough to run out there? I’ve never pulled in there on my bay boat so I wouldn’t know!?
Do you still own this kayak?
Does the water get inside the deck from the seam of the peddle housing jarring around?
How is it to paddle? Looking at this one for paddle only. Too heavy?
Hey, Mark, is this kayak OK to use in the shallow marsh? I'm just getting started in this type of fishing. Looking to buy 2, one for the wife and one for myself.. So lookimg for something that's not to high dollar but going to be efficient..
When the drive is up and you're push pulling thru the shallow, does it bring in to much water thru the opening?
It works fine and no on the water. This kayak is very heavy and slow though. Just be prepared.
In your opinion, what would be a good kayak to get started on? I'm working with about 4k for a couple kayaks.. The Outback would be nice but i don't think i have the budget for one right now.
I just bought one last night. Awaiting shipping 2-4 weeks or whatever. I’m about to wet my pants.
Should deep fry the flatty then sprinkle some Tony's. No batter just fry and season and enjoy.
Best fish in the world!
Another free. Kayak how do u do it how can I get me one
You mention the seat was high a couple times... can it be adjusted lower?
No, it’s a fixed height. The boat is amazingly stable so it’s not much of a concern to me anymore.
LOVE THE COLOR, WHERE CAN I BUY THAT SAME KAYAK?
Check out ACK’s website. They ship everywhere.
For $2K, I would go with the Hobie Mirage Compass 2019.
Nhan Ha; Hobie doesn’t have instant reverse. Plus the drivetrain has a five year warranty free maintenance.
Man I enjoy your videos fellow
VETERAN 🇺🇸 I’m DTF 😂🐟
Thanks for your service!
awesome boat! 👍🐟🐟
Awesome video
I like that paddle clip. Thinking of putting one on my OB. How do u like their Pfd, Mark?
It’s well made but I have a small body and the high back hits the seat and makes it uncomfortable.
Thanks for the buggs lure
How would you say the stability is compared to the 2019 Outback?
Love the video... but yes your right, that PDL drive sucks badly... the native propel drive is so much smoother and quieter...
There is a native titan propel 10.5 used for sale near me for 2k with boondox gear. Looks in great shape. Any experience with titans?
I have experience with the slayer 10 propel and it’s stable enough for my 300lbs butt and all my gear to stand up and fish is.... The Titan is the Slayers big brother.... And when I say big brother I mean it... the titan 10 is like 20lbs heavier than the slayer 10.... Sounds like a great deal if it have the Boonbox landing gear... Only other upgrade that I would say you would need the is the Boondox rudder.... The native Propel system is very quiet unlike the PDL that is very grindy sounding...
Ok thanks! Once last concern, the rudder, is it in a bad spot when it comes to unloading and loading? I like how others flip up and outta the way.
Good Review man. Seems like a decent yak.
what a good video like the boat but check the peddles i have heard bad thing about them wearing and falling out of the hole that they are in but great video as all ways
pedals not peddles
Nice kayak
what is that bait caster you are using? how is it holding up in the salt?
Shimano Calcutta Conquest 100. I have two of them and they’re super tough. Been using them for nearly two years. I’ve only had to replace the drag washer.
Awesome. 2 grand. I need another job. Any discounts for disabled veterans?
I’m not sure about that.
What rod and reel are you using?
Great video!
Thanks!
No I keep doing what you doing looking forward to seeing more videos about that kayak hopefully I can get one of the beginning of the year
It was supposed to say Mark keep doing
Great video! What color is that?
Photic blue I think.
Thank you! Great looking kayak! I’m considering buying one.. any problems with yours?
Haha i work for that delivery company!
That exchange look real shady Mark lol
😂
Specs? How big?
The link in the description will let you know. Thanks for watching!
MDLR Fishing Of course it is! 🙏🏻
BTW, I will never order something from ACK ever again.
Oh my god! This is mu dream! How much for one? Bro
Range from 5-15k
looked stable for sure. haha... I could see your habit of putting the rod in your forward facing holding was frustrating your muscle memory... just a few modifications then the kayak will be like home.
How did you get it for free?
They just emailed me out of the blue.
Looks like these are sold out
Mariner Sails in Dallas just got a shipment of them not to long ago.
@@MDLRFishing oh I click the link, I'm in southern California, I'll see if they have it at my local kayak shops.
how did you get it? can i have one hahaha!
Hello mr mark can u please tell. Me the information on the hogie baits that you an nick use I would like to order some is there a website are phone number I can call thanks an tight lines brother
