Love all your video's, very informative. I've picked up a few techniques you use. Regarding Flaming Gorge, when is the best time of year to fish it and were you fishing in the Northern part of the lake. I hear Brewsters Pool has a great run this year. Is now the time to go? How long will the run last as thinking of making a trip up there. I live in Central California.
The best area for big fish is from Buckboard south to Anvil Draw generally late June is best but it can vary depending on flows. The Brewster does indeed have a record run of Sockeye on the the way. I would say the 3rd week of July thru the 1st week of August should be best.
@@spiltmilt thanks! Ended up going to Jordanelle instead due to a time issue with one of my buddies who had to be back early for a wedding. Caught Several bows but got two kokes with One 17” and one 15”. Have their filets in the fridge right now.
I am wondering how the Kokanee compare to sea run Sockeye for taste? I am sure they are very good but being lake bound do they build up the fat reserves to get that buttery delicious taste of sea run Sockeyes?
Utah has a required class you take online regarding their invasive species regulations. Idaho has boat inspection stations at the border that you are required to stop at if you have any kind of watercraft. dwrapps.utah.gov/wex/dbconnection.jsp?examnbr=512626
Very nice Kokanee. I saw the Paulina boat up there this year on one of our trips.
Couldn't be better timing. Just got back from my kokanee lake and getting ready to clean them.
Well…….beautiful boat, beautiful lake, beautiful fish. You are a very lucky man.
Thank you for adding the map to your commentary
You are welcome
18min late but still here to Watch yes! Literally watching you is better than a TV show
Very cool! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for your time and sharing. Your videos are awesome!
Thanks, this was the one I’ve been waiting for. I hope you follow it up with a Kayak video on the FG.
Unfortunately no more FG content. Hopefully I will get back there next year in the kayak
Love the video glad you got another crack at the gorge. Now you need to come with me on my boat to strawberry 🍓
Yeah I hooked to big ones but they both spit the hook. 😭 Hopefully I can return for some redemption
Interesting fillet technique at 7:06. Do they harvest the belly meat separately?
Those are some very big fish.
Not used watching you Kokanee fishing w/o your OT kayak. Regardless, enjoy your vids. Thank you!

Can you tell me where Brewsters Pool is? I’ve never heard of it. Thank You
Its a large basin in the Columbia River at the town of Brewster, Washington
Where did you get your net ?
Someone caught a 25.5” almost 6 pounder out of strawberry today. I’m headed up tomorrow an hope to get lucky too.
Good luck!

They are quite oily but more mellow flavored IMO.
Great video . If your boat is registered in say Montana do you have to get a Wyoming permit or something?
Wyoming has an invasive species stamp requirement. I do not believe Utah has one but they do require inspection at most boat ramps.
Thank you

Yes and Idaho has invasive species stickers or stamps just like Wyoming.
Paul"eena" or Paul"ina" lol
So annoying I know.
