Today I adopted 2 female guinea pigs!! I am so excited to have them!
Don't give Petco money
Don't give Petco money
Don't give Petco money
They are shit and their animals live miserable lives in enclosures too small and they force solitary animals to cohabitate
Don't give Petco money
Big deal till the clean up
get ready for them to pee all over your walls lmfao
Would recommend getting a glass water bottle as plastic rot easier, also do research, alot of things are poisonous to guinea pigs, they also need a hide. Like NEED NEED . It makes them feel safe,
Edit: they can get alot of stress from moving, its way better to give them a hide then to let them be in the open for the first time. You should put a hide right next to their first standing spot
This is coming from a guinea pig owner with two rescues. Please do more research. They need hay food pellots water and fresh veggies and wooden chew toys, please just do research.
Even if it’s temporary. The poor guinea pigs where just stressing because of the new place, when i got my two, they stayed in their massive cage most of the time, due to massive amounts of stress, its not because ‘they aren’t scared’ all new guinea pigs are terrified at first, they just need hides right away.
Congratulations!!! 👍
It's soo good seeing guinea pigs with proper cadges and care! B.T.W they are gorgeous 😍
Thanks!
excuse me what?! PROPER LOLOLOL
the cage is a little to small
This cage is too small. 2 Guinea pigs need 2m²
@@lou5278 my two girls have 4x2 foot cadge!
One of them is going on for an operation tomorrow😭😭
I love this so much because some owners don't realize what guinea pigs really need. And to see some people that have actually done their research is amazing. Also good job to you by bringing and saving 2 adorable guinea pigs!😃😄🐽🐷🐹
Congratulations! Having piggies has been one of the best things to ever happen on my life. I can tell your piggies will have a beautiful life with you!!! Lots of Love from one Guinea Pig Mom to another ❤️
That smaller brown one looks almost like mine! It’s great to see you did research before you got them. Not a lot of people do, so I know they’ll have a good life, good job 👍
love to see other people living the crocs and guinea pig lifestyle
Yay! Great job researching before you got them! Love that you've already expanded their cage too.
Hey! No hate at all, you are doing a great job, coming from a Guinea pig owner. But be careful with those chewable “edible” Guinea pig hides, they can be toxic if your piggies eat too much of it! Just keep an eye out, maybe be safer than sorry and take it out and replace it?
Thank you for saying this in general because I might get 2 guinea pigs soon! ❤️
Aww congratulations! the piggies are adorable. Your Abyssinian guinea pig actually looks a bit like my guinea pig Bumble!
THANK YOU. Some people don’t do research before adopting it was a good thing that you set up the cage before and adopted a pair I hope those Guinea pigs live a healthy life❤
Just want to come on here and say that for a small channel there’s videos actually video that I like stay the whole time and wanted to watch it was really well put together but the cage just need a lot more like stuff for the campers to do and I know it’s a temporary cage and this is actually amazing that you rescued them and please keep posting because this is actually just amazing
Thanks for the info! I will be posting a video some point soon with cage updates!!
I have two guinea pigs at home and they are both 4 years old! Heres a tip I have for saving money on hay: Buy a bale of timothy hay from your local farm supply store once a year and for us it costs 20$ a year on hay vs. 15$ each month!
😍 one tip: they don't need an extra bottle for water. It isn't good for their neck :). They can drink from bowls.
My pigs never learned to drink from bowl and they refuse to so I will continue to use bottles
The vitamin c is good for your Guinea pigs but I recommend Oxbow pellets. Also make sure to give them a fourth.
Congratulations! You did it perfectly 💕💕✨✨💕
you have amazing guinea pig care i am happy that some people actually research guinea pig befor getting them but i would think about switching there pellets over to oxbow guinea pig pellets
Jenna: *grabs the wooden hanging round toy*
Me: *she knows what she’s doing!*
How exciting !!!! Congratulations
Wow finally someone that does research on something and doesn’t just get an animal by impulse ✨🤯💖
I got my birds on impulse and they both died after 2 months :(. Biggest mistake ever made. I am never doing that again
@@minilamma4879 nooooo
They are beautiful! Congratulations!
Congratulations! They are adorable!
Awww so cute and sweet you chose well they are gorgeous💗☺️
Jenna your doing really well with your channels and your so responsible!
Tysm sxnset it means a lot!!
That's great you made them a nice cage. A lot of first time owners buy them a small cage.
I can see for a first guinea pig owner you did your research, so good job on that, the rest you will learn in time. :)
They are marvelous creatures. I have 7 atm (1 nutered boy and 6 females) and I own guinea pigs for more then 20 years, but started with 2 furry potatoes just like you ;)
thats so cool!!!!!!! im happy for you!
So cute!!
So cute and sweet, you chose well☺️💗
Love them! Love the cage
Awwwe how cuteee 🥺
I’m glad you did your research! 🤗
Congrats on your new babies ☺️
Im currently saving up to get two Guinea pigs as well Im so excited
This was so cute 😍
Aww so cutee! new subbie
They are so cute! It’s great to see someone who actually know how to handle Guinea pigs! I’m planning to adopt Guinea pigs aswell! Any tips?
I do think the waterbottle is a bit low. Do make sure that when they are drinking they don’t tilt their heads but reach straight up to drink from the bottle. Other than that your set up is adorable and the piggies are great too! It’s great that you rescued them and they have a good home now! 💜💜
Tysm! And actually my water bottle is higher now and the reason I had it that low was because my pig was super tiny and couldn’t reach the water bottle if it was any higher!
@@urfavjennaaa gotcha! I just wanted to provide some advice because it’s very common of piggies to develop a head tilt if their water bottle is too low. I’m glad that you are taking care of them well! Congratulations on being a piggie parent! ❤️❤️
@@natkakat tysm!! And also one of my pigs already has a head tilt because of an ear infection from her old home!
@@urfavjennaaa aww I’m so sorry for that! :( that’s unfortunate that that happened but I hope they’re okay now and thriving!
Yooo those crocks tho? Absolutely fire
Yes obviously
i also rescued a pair of piggies last month! they look super similar to yours, just they are babies
Congratulations.
Finally someone who actually takes good care of their piggies and doesn’t just impulse buy.
Enjoy them I hope they live a long happy life, wish you all the best! ❤️
They are so cute
OMG THERE SO CUTEEEEEEE
So fun fact you can also use regular toenail clipers to trim there nails if you don't have what she bought and I've found it to work better as it won't slide out of place
I have already informed my parents abt that but they don’t want me using them even though I think it’s best to use them as well!
So nice to see a guinea pig owner buy them proper cage and pellets. Its so cringy when individuals who post these kind of videos buy cramped pet store cages and colorful bags of food with artificial material inside. Im not sure if youre a first time guinea pig owner but if you are, bravo you definitely did your research. Just a helpful reminder to make sure you have an exotic vet on hand in case you need one, and good luck with the piggies! 💙
Guinea pigs should never eat pellets.
@@lou5278 um yes they can? So long there not the kind with all the artificial colored parts in it. Those pellets by ox bow are alfalfa based so its pretty much grinded hay. I feed mine the same thing.
@@rayraysnowpaw9660
No, because guinea pigs have a stuffing stomach and the pellets absorb moisture which causes them to feel fed up for a while and that's bad for their whole digestive system. In addition it's very hard and they have to chew in a very unnaturally way, so it's bad for their teeth
@@lou5278 well every person I've talked to say pelllets are fine so long as its not the kind with artificial ingredients. You're not supposes to give them a lot of pellets because it will make them overweight. I know my guinea pigs get pellets and still eat all their hay and veggies and still want more food.
@@rayraysnowpaw9660
Being fed up for a while doesn't mean that they stop eating other food. It's bad for their digestive system because the food stays longer than it should in their stomach and colon. My first guinea pigs had bad teeth problems because of wrong food (not leafy enough) and a diet which is only based on pellets, veggies and hay doesn't wear their teeth enough down. They need food which contains much silica.
I know that it's very common in america to feed pellets but there has to change (worldwide) a lot about this whole guinea pig owning topic. I'm from germany and we have many vets who are specialized on guinea pigs here, so our standards are much higher.
Aweosme videos ! so glad to see they were able to get along & live one cage . Certainly makes things a little easier as an owner . Do you happen to know the first beat in the video ? :)
No sorry I’m not quite sure!
I love guinea pigs
Cute
I'm thinking you will need a bigger tunnel and house very soon, those are really cute and big piggies 😂🥰
Mhm! I have some bigger ones now tysm! ❤️
They're absolutely adorable and precious!! Congratulations! You did a wonderful thing! I wish you lots of happiness with them, and may they be strong and healthy, and live a long and happy life with you! It seems like you're doing all your research, and we're always learning, but you're off to a great start! I just subscribed to your channel, again, Congrats!
Yup! I’ve been researching for more then half this year and I think I’m ready to get my girls this year in June!!
hey, congrats! i also had some guinea pigs but they died a few days ago...............
just something that the vet told me is that they need these vitamins. (:
Awwww I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️
💕
I love guinea pigs so much best animals differently recommend
Okay so I don't know if you watch the L.A. Pig Rescue UA-cam channel or Scotty's animals UA-cam channel. They both do with guinea pigs Scotty doesn't work with L.A. Pig Rescue he takes a lot of their male guinea pigs and fosters them. Scott who runs the Scotty's animals UA-cam channel. That man is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to guinea pigs. He is a sweetheart you did reply back to your messages it might take him a couple hours but he does reply cuz he reads every one of them. He actually has but unfortunately my head my guinea pig this kind of information was out for me to have. It was unavailable for me to have. And I wish it was.
Little Adventures, It's Pigs and other channels are GREAT to watch! HIGHLY recommend both of those for pig vids!
This is adorable!! I love your videos Jenna!!!! ❤❤❤
The piggys are adorable 🥰 my pig died 6 month’s ago due to upper respiratory infection 😭
Aww I’m so sorry abt that!
My guniea pig Peter died the same back in 2016 broke my Hart my health issues sadly no more guniea pigs I understand how u feels 💔 😢 😔 😞 I use to keep guniea pigs from a teenager to them 2016 sad miss them 😢 😞 💔 😔 😕 😪
So good! Their cage looks awesome! 🐹
I have literally the same size of cage for my Guinea pigs.
I love their cage and all the supplies you have provided them with! One thing I do have to say is, petco and petsmart are huge chain pet stores and they dont treat their animals very well, please look into some local pet stores or breeders for your next adoption!! ❤️And I mean this with all respect. Animals aren't being rescued if they are from big chain industries, because you're just paying for another animal to take their place. I've gotten a few amazing pets off of Craigslist, a calico persian, and 2 wonderful mice, oh! I also just recently got a new mouse and she is the sweetest! She let's me scratch and rub her head, but she was terrified when I first got her, bit me multiple times and ran out of her cage away from me so she's come a long way. I'm pretty sure the original owner got her from petsmart. And usually animals from there tend to be more frightened because all of the trauma they've been through and some die from it and not just from trauma, they're beaten, not taken care of until the point of infection or death and some are just killed depending on how frustrated that person was that was handling them that day. (this usually happens in the industries they came from before being taken to petco/pets art) (I know sunpet is one) Animals do not deserve to be treated this way . It's up to us to be smart consumers, please start looking into some breeders and I hope you have a great rest of your day!
I hope this educated someone out there!! This person in particular I think may have gotten hers from a breeder but I'm not exactly sure. But it's better to tell people about the mistreatment from petco and Petsmart, than doing nothing at all
Actually I did get them from the closest rescue (wheekcare rescue) and I know that they don’t treat their animals very well
I know that pet stores don’t treat them very well wheekcare rescue does take very good care of them
Well done for proper researching before getting guinea pigs.
Tired of seeing poor piggies being stuffed in tiny cages with wrong bedding and dangerous toys.
They gonna have long and happy life with caring owner.
Omg where did u get that cage at?? And I love ur Guinea pigs 💕
I got it at www.guineapigcagesstore.com
Hey! what pellet brand did you get them? I would recommend oxbow essentials, my guinea pigs loves them :) glad to see you're taking good care of them !!
I got them Mazuri pellets and I they love them!
oxbow garden is actually better than the essentials! the garden is soy free where the essentials is not
They shouldn't eat absolutely no pellets. They are super unhealthy for their stomach because they feel fed up. Guinea pigs have a stuffing stomach, so they can only poop when they eat the whole time. It's also very bad for their teeth because pellets are hard and they need to chew in a very unnaturally way.
They need mostly fresh leafy food like salads, grass, meadow herbs, culinary herbs, etc, than vegetables, than hay and then a little bit fruits (-very rarely and only stuff like Apples)
@@autumngrace. thats great ! my guinea pigs can only eat essentials tho, they tried eating garden and they had diarrhea :( i'll definitely try again
Love this but I suggest getting them at shelters cause the guinea pigs at pet co are gonna get adopted fast but at shelters they don't so I suggest shelters
I got mine at a rescue about 1 and a half hours away and I didn’t get them from a pet store
Congrats on the babies, also just in case look up everything on how to care for a piggie, they need constant veggies morning and for dinner.
Yup I feed them fruits and veggies every morning when I clean their cage and when I get back from school!
@@urfavjennaaa don’t give them fruit every morning!!! It’s very bad to give Guinea pigs a lot of fruit since Fruit contains a lot of sugar for the Guinea pigs! But you can still give Guinea pigs fruit as a treat! And just in case if you don’t know Guinea pigs can have these foods:
Lettuce (you should give them romaine) Cucumbers,Peppers,Celery, carrots, apples, blueberries, bananas, strawberries, and much more types of fruits and vegetables! Love your channel!
@@AutumnWCUE yes I’m aware!! I rarely give them fruits! Thanks for the info!
@@urfavjennaaa your welcome! 😁
Hi! Your piggies are so cute! Im getting two guinea pigs myself in about a week or so, and I was just wondering if you could do a vid about what they eat in a day? I cant find out how much they are supposed to eat..
Here’s a link to a chart of what they should eat mgpr.org/newsite/GP_Info/Guinea%20Pig%20Diet.htm
I hope this helped!
You can watch some piggy UA-camrs like little adventures!
Yup!
It’s funny how one is big and the another one is small
How are they doing? Were they cage mates?
Yes! They were cage mates!
They weren’t always cage mates though!
Sadly, Josie (Abyssinian piggy) was not taken care of in her previous home! Her other cage mate passed away with her watching.. 😢
And she has a slight head tilt because of an ear infection when she was young!
Meg (ridge-back piggy) was born into rescue and put with Josie!
Hi! I love the cage set up so much! I would recommend more chews and two water bottles so they both don’t start fitting and they can stay busy!! But I love it and love them!! ❤️❤️😁😁😇😇🥰🥰🙈🙈
My piggies get along quite well with one water bottle! I also have a water bowl! And actually my pigs hate chews! But I give them a TON of hay! Tysm!
@@urfavjennaaa Even if they dont use them you still need to offer them...
Good video & you really should get Two guinea pigs
they're Not good ALONE
Their social Animals they Need company.💘🐹🐹👍
I have two ❤️
God loves you
names?? 🤩
Congratulations 🎉 ! I love this video so much. Saw a comment that said not to feed your guinea pigs pellets after you’ve used that bag but from an experienced guinea pig owner I would advise you to carry on feeding them just so long as your guinea pigs don’t have any problems with the pellets. They are actually quite important and without them your guinea pigs could become underweight! They look so happy with you!
Hope did you recuse 2 Guinea pigs from Pet Smart.
No I rescued them from a REAL rescue not a pet store!
@@urfavjennaaa. Awesome. So the Pet Smart was your food or cage set up. Both as an owner of rescued Guinea pigs are not the ideal place to go.
Mhm! Tysm! For the info!
Hi.... Am Hema Prakash from India.... ❤❤❤
I wouldn't say that is adopting. Adopting is from a rescue or a rehoming situation. This is purchasing in my opinion.
I adopted them from a rescue center I had to drive 2 and a half hours to get there I just bought the supplies from a pet store ❤️
@@urfavjennaaa that's awesome!
I feel like the cage is a little too small
No actually it’s not this is the size that suites the pigs the best! ❤️
they look like my i gave my away how weird
Please don’t by from pet co pet smart or big animal stores rescue
I recommend after that bag of pellets is gone, stop feeding them. Pellets are basically hay in pellet form and hay is way better for their teeth. Veggies are the way to go!
Guinea Pigs actually need pellets as a good source of their diet. You can see in this video that she feeds them hay AND pellets. Buying the right pellets can be difficult because of the choices. I recommend Oxbow Guinea Pig Pellets as they are the best brand in my opinion and work best for my pigs. It's interesting to hear your perspective but you should do more research!
@@kieracarillo pellets are literally just hay with vitamin c. But after time, the vitamin c breaks down and it’s no longer in the pellets, at that point you’re just giving them hay.
This is highlyyy untrue. Pellets have a lot more than just vitamin c, good high quality pellets have a variety of vitamins essential for pigs needs. Pigs will not get enough nutrients without them. Hay is way better for their teeth, which is why you feed unlimited hay but limit pellets to 1/8 cup per day. Also limit veggies, 1 cup. Please do not feed your pigs a pellet free diet, they will lack the nutrients they need
please please do not buy from pet stores
I didn’t buy them from a pet store I bought them from a rescue!
@@urfavjennaaa I know, i mean in general especially Petco they support really horrible things like animal mills. and use the money people give them to support bad places instead of putting it to taking care of and sell happy healthy animal and sell good products
Yes! I feel really bad for the pigs and other animals! 😢
As far as the savings goes most rescues are volunteers I'm certainly not giving them my banking info. I didn't have a bunch of savings and my dogs are five four and seven years old they see the doc when their sick .it does not require savings plus most disease and injury are preventable. So you should not need a vet that often outside of routine things . Now run along and eat that nasty vegan organic garbage you love so much
@@alexiswaller3065 what the hell are you even taking about? im not rich but im not stupid either and know that you need to AT LEAST has $300-500 saved to get any animal because they need to be seen by a vet if needed. and on pretty much any animal from a rescue there is going to be an adoption so you need to have savings anyways, and its not rescues not trying to let people with less money not have animals it responsible of them to insure that if that animal gets sick it not going to live in pain, and or get dumped somewhere because the person cant afford the animal.
u need another hide
Look at some of my most recent videos because this was a temporary cage set up! ❤️
