i think he comes off dreamy because he's always got lots of things going on in his mind, not necessarily bad things yknow, but when you're as much of a creative and poetic genius as him, i find it hard to believe that he's only focusing and thinking about the interview at hand. also as Vilena says, i believe Alex takes immense care with the words he uses, which probably owes itself to his lyrical work, and/or vice versa. ALSO i think what the comment above mine says is definitely true, maybe the craft (or art, in Alex Turner's case) of songwriting leaks into his normal speech

"Tha Knows" is the correct term where we both grew up.
It literally makes me laugh like how anal everyone is on these types of videos about Alex either being /a cocky dickhead now' or 'god he's so high' or 'he's doing coke' or 'he's so pissed' like why does everyone care so much?! He's a young rockstar, they do drugs, they have a bit of fun. Everyone just chill out and stop taking it so seriously. Personally I don't even think he's high here, he always speaks slowly and deliberately, if you read anything Alexa says/has said about him, it's because he's really intelligent and wants everything he says to come across exactly the way he wants it to.
I’d never read a more accurate comment on this. That is exactly what it is, and people just interpret it as him being high on every single occasion or interview or concert ! Does that even make sense !

You can tell in this interview they have tired from touring and being in the public eye. Watch Alexs' interviews in 2007 about Glasto or performing live and you can just see how much he's enjoying himself now he just seems drained. AM was a really good album but these guys are in their early 30's now and getting married, I predict a little bit of a hiatus.

It does seem like they are/have been on cocaine. I believe they live in LA now, and that's a city known for good coke. So it's probably true.
They probably are on it, but I'm not sure about in this particular interview. Charlie makes you a chatty and turns you into a bit of a motor mouth. They seem and sound to mellow and relaxed.
