I've been a long-time subscriber. I live in Avery County, NC and we've been utterly devastated by this hurricane. I'm still without power or water and where I live they don't know when it will be back. I heard it could be up to a month. We're still looking for people up here.

from leaving a door or window open to a wooden or tiled floor....commercial and residential......they are using every excuse not to pay. It is an angry disgusting shame. I have friends there and they are shocked in every which way. Those companies are leeches and liars. I hope things get better, somehow. Thanks Jacob for showing this. Not everyone really understands how dire it was-is.

I have yet to venture out much since the hurricane, and after this video I'm even more reluctant to. My little slice of Florida made it through just fine, but there are so many places very close to me that didn't. I understand that we were the only place in Large that didn't lose power. But my mother and I are fine and my brother and niece are fine, and I'm thankful for that. Remember everyone, tough times don't last, tough people do. Much love to you all.

I've been getting all the updates from Waynesville. The shots of Frog Level (and my old house) were awful. All of my former neighbors are safe, so I'm extremely grateful for that. It was so much worse than the flooding in 2021.

Thank you SO much for posting this! I lived in Waynesville and Maggie Valley for decades. I moved away just 2 years ago. None of the news outlets have reported on Waynesville, Maggie Valley and other more remote areas of Haywood County. While it's a relief to know now that the flooding in W'ville isn't as bad as in other areas, I couldn't agree more that it's very, very sad to see do much of a town I've known and loved damaged so much.

The media is not talking about this enough. Stories from out of Asheville are gut-wrenching to hear, along with stories of extreme mismanagement by the feds, all while private citizens with the resources to help are being turned away in many cases. People should be enraged about all of this. It's horrible. Black Mountain, Swannanoa, Marshall, and the areas around Chimney Rock are practically GONE. I have two friends who are still trapped in their general vicinities. People here in PA are loading box trucks with supplies and just hoping to get in. Shocking.

Do you know where Utah Mountain is?? It’s on the Waynesville/ Maggie Valley line. I’m sick to my stomach not knowing if the house I grew up in, my grandparents house, the house my grandfather built with his own two hands and so much love, is okay or even exist anymore. I can’t get in touch with the couple we sold the house to. My grandparents aren’t with us anymore but my dream to one day buy back their mountain dream home, the only place that was ever really home to me, feels like it might be gone forever. I need to know either way. If you know anything or could help me find out somehow please comment back and I’ll get my email to you. Please and thank you and god bless.

I used to live in Osawatomie, KS. They had a flood over most of the town in 2007. The trailer home I had lived in about 2½ years earlier had a waterline a good few feet above floor level. I'm so glad I wasn't living there at the time. There was block after block of houses and businesses with piles of debris at street side. In a couple places there were cases of water stacked on the corner for whoever needed it. The National Guard was at the hwy exit into town to watch for looters and scumbags. I'm happy for you and Jen, that you guys did not suffer too bad compared to other folks.
My heart goes out to these people. TY for the vidya!

@@laurastrobel718 UA-cam comments will not let me add a link, but you can find it on his channel. It was a couple of weeks ago and called "I finally got into Casa Bonita!" 😀

Wow.. it’s so sad to see such a beautiful area in that condition. Glad you and yours are safe! Curious to know what type of damage Ghost Town has now, it was already in rough shape.

My heart is breaking for the people of western N, C. Just looking at the damage there in your down is just something that is hard to comprehend. I am so glad that you and Jennn are fine. Just remember most things can be replaced and places like the park can be repaired. Please keep yourselves safe during this time and know that you both are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you both. ❤🙏

When you post your travels here on UA-cam, you share a small piece of your life with us. And the true fans accept and appreciate the glimpses we get thru your eyes and the camera lens.
    But....
When you share THIS part of your life...words can't even express the heartache we go thru as well. I'm in far west Texas, probably as far from there as I could be. But these are still people. People same as me, living their lives and doing what they have to do to survive. Neighbors.
Here's to hoping that the time frame to normality come swift and easy for all.
Bless them. And Bless you and Jenn. When the time is right for you to go back "on that long lonesome road" we will be here ready to ride shotgun with you.

Everyone is still caring and sending help. Locally Mooresville, Concord, Charlotte have help and supplies. Choppers fly by here frequent unless you count the time a certain person and the photo op shut down the airspace in Western NC to hault rescue and aid. Hearts with Hands in Swannanoa are local to the area so they have food and supplies right in their backyard.

This is tragic. I hope they get the help they need. I would imagine some of the glass was broken by floating objects. The baseball park is a sad loss. 🙏🙏🙏
