Wow!! What a race. Great action from start to finish. Hoping for more wet races!! Great commentary too from David Addison and great insight from Joe Osborne!!
28:53-29:35 Honestly I think the UK is a little arrogant so I don't wanne be too nice but that piece of racing right there? Literally the best kind of racing in the world and it could've only happened in the UK. Only there can you find this fantastic combination between weather, old-school tracks and by far most importantly: a deeply ingrained racing culture where drivers have the skill and respect for each other that they can keep from crashing while driving absolutely beastly GT3 machines on a relatively tiny and super bumpy track like Oulton Park. Everybody who's ever played some online racing knows how easy it is to just dive-bomb the person in front of you, great racing comes when people can moderate their aggression.
28:35 - straight of Assetto Corsa Competizione, though I would (a) wipe out all three cars (b) receive contact penalty or (c) become intimately familiar with Barry-r....fantastic racing action...never going back to NASCAR...!
People always complain about stupid F1 rulings, but that drive-through for Harper was awful. Yeah, you aren't allowed to overtake before the line, but if somebody blatantly hits the breaks what are you supposed to? Next time, preferably just crash into everyone, I guess ...
Well it's better than the seemingly random rules in F1. Abu Dhabi 2021 comes to mind or the random red flags at Australia a few weeks ago. It is a pretty black and white rule if you overtake before the start / finish straight it's a penalty. Nothing that Gounon did was against the rules.
@@Maenfy So next restart if you get a bad run just slam on the brakes and 7 cars behind you will get a penalty ... I don't have the British GT sporting regulations but normally they are clear that at restarts you can't drive "irregularly" and that "overtaking" only counts as such insofar as both cars are going at full speed (ie somebody spins out or whatever that's not your fault either). I'm not saying Gounon did anything wrong, after all there's a slower car ahead and although he clearly more than enough space it could have been honest caution on his side. But you shouldn't penalize another car for the car ahead suddenly slowing down either.
@@Sp4mMe Yeah but wasn't like Gounon was coming to a stop. Yes he slowed down but in this case Harper should have been more careful. Obviously easy to say in hindsight but it is what it is.
@@Maenfy It was gamesmanship from Gounon, but yeah, allowed, by the letter of the rules. I think they did the right thing by the letter of the rules. And next time in the driver birefing they should just clarify that no brake checking should be allowed before the S/F line at a restart, same as in F1
@Atticvs32 i agree with you here. If the rules haven't been broken then all good. Teams who invest so much time and money will take every inch, on and off the track.
" A brave, brave " Marshall picking that bonnet off the track, hilarious, what a snowflake World today, nothing at all dangerous doing that.....nothing, lap lap lap.🤣
This does totally prove british gt should always be an hour long race and no more. 2 hours isn’t long enough for strategy but to long to be an exciting Race
First time watching British GT, what a cracking first race. Intend to watch the championship this year.

That Merc paint scheme is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 so many memories.

Great Race, really enjoy the broadcasters, always learn with their comments.
That was a tense last 5 minutes,! Great racing.!

The first race is really exciting

Every full race video on youtube should have a comment with a timestamp of the start, you're doing the lord's work my friend thank you.
Great commentary
Cracking race. BGT absolutely trouncing BTCC these days for spectacle.
Another great British GT race. The commentator did say "wetter than a mermaid's flannel", didn't he - I wasn't sure for a moment!?
Amazing action in British GT again. Great coverage as well. This as good as racing gets. Save your F1 money and come and watch these racers instead
Incredible race!
What an unsportsmanlike move by Gounon. You shouldn’t be allowed to brake with no reason at all after you accelerated at a restart.
He ruined his own race to cause a penalty on that BMW
11:51 start
What a Race!
Very entertaining race, i'll be a keen follower from Down Under. Curious to know why no Audi's in the field.
So if a car breaks down before the line on a restart, does it mean that all cars behind it stop? Those rules need review.
If a car has an obvious issue it can be overtaken, it's same during a Safety Car or FCY.
Why the car 91 was penalized?
Why are you guys uploading these videos in such low bitrate?
I love how Borodin is racing, proper Estonian racer 👀😅
Not to hate on Chris Froggat but he sounds a bit like Wallace from Wallace and Gromit
1:14:55 "Wetter than a mermaid's flannel..." Excuse me?
😂😂😂
Really bad recordings from Oulton Park, I can hardly hear it, half the volume of Bathurst.
Excelente
