저는 결혼을 하지않았지만 며느리가 생일날에 미역국이 아니라 케익을 선물 했다고 해서 신경 쓸 일은 전혀 아니라고 생각해요😀 외국에선 케이크가 축하의 의미이고 한국에선 미역국이 축하의 의미로 먹는 음식이니까 서로 똑같다고 생각해요!! 굳이 '며느리'가 아니라 세라라는 존재가 자신이 축하하는 마음을 담아 드린거니까 걱정 안하셔도 될거 같아요! 며느리이기 때문에 무조건 무언가를 해야 하는게 아니라 진정한 가족의 구성원이라면 자신을 부르는 명칭에 따라 무언가를 하고 당연하단 듯이 생각하지않고 얽매이지 않았으면 좋겠어요

시부모님 생신이라고 며느리가 꼭 미역국 끓일필요 없어요. 그게 큰실수는 아니죠.. 상황이 되면 끓여드리기도 하지만 그냥 미리 식당에서 식사하는걸로 끝내기도 많이들 하고. 케이크를 사가도 나쁘지 않은데요. 축하에 의미가 있는거죠. 세라씨 말대로 규호씨가 아내에게 해주듯 부모님께 끓여드리면 의미있고 좋을듯 하네요..

I was going to ask in a comment last week if you guys could do more cooking in your videos but I didn't. haha You heard my prayers! I'm just about to move out on my own over here in Vancouver, Canada and the stuff that you guys make looks fairly easy. I would love to see some of the recipes you use or even if you did a video on some of your favorite things to cook at home.

Love your videos. Helps me to see how much Seoul have changed since I, along with my family, moved to U.S. some 45 years ago. Hi, and happy birthday to all the Virgos on this ongoing birthday bash! (I just had my birthday Aug. 29th). The food really looked great that Kyuho made for you, and that carrot cake, wow! I myself like birthday pies, instead of cake. (since it's fresh fruit season, I love pies. My favorite this time of season is a pie I make, Peach-Walnut pie. I've made fig tarts too, off of my fig tree, and the peaches come off of my white-skinned peach tree in my backyard. Take care guys, have been enjoying watching your vlogs! xoxo from Chicago!
Always enjoy watching your videos. Gives me a glimpse of places in Korea where I haven't been. Would love it if you either linked places you show in the videos or identified them so when my husband and I return in April, we could venture to some of the places that look so interesting. Last time we visited Korea, we did all the touristy things- which was fun. But April 2018 when we go again, we want to walk along paths that are not just where everyone else goes. So the bike ride to the convenience store looks like a place we'd enjoy strolling along. Yet, I have no idea where it is. :)

Also, honestly, I feel for Kyuho. My mom made me stuff for the dorm (back during Uni in Hawaii) to take back with me, and she got so mad when I forgot to grab the cookies (she made a big heart shaped one for me among the set to share with my roommate). Like Kyuho, I also didn't realize I forgot it 🙈with all the other stuff I was bringing it didn't even cross my mind until my mom called me 2 hours later

Sarah you are right though, if the children don't have that tradition of making her soup, then you don't have any obligation to do it either. But it was really nice of you and Kyuho's mom seems to be more progressive so she'll understand. Also, I recommend the webtoon 며느라기 if you haven't heard of it, it has a birthday soup related episode. It's on instagram @min4rin. Very insightful.

11:34 Technically, you don't need to download any app for lunar birthdays. iPhone can handle it. You just add Chinese calendar on Setting > Calendar > Other calendars and put the person's Chinese birthday on Contacts. But you should know some Chinese characters to understand the Chinese calendar. Then the Calendar app will indicate you the right day every year. Hope it helps you.

Great content guys! I noticed your passion for stray cats. I live in Mexico and we have a big stray animal problem. There are not many spay/neuter options. Also- there is a notion that the animals, males mostly, should enjoy their sexual activities. What are the cultural connections in Korea? Are there lots of stray animals? Are there programs for stray animals that does not include euthanasia? Keep up the great work!!!
