Great country. In May I drove my Defender to Alice Springs then walked the 234km Larapinta Trail west to east - from Redbank Gorge back into Alice. From the mountain tops the views go on forever.
Yes, carrying tent and everything with me and staying on mountain tops, in gorges and at some official campsites. Took 13 days and I lost about 15 pounds in weight, haha! I left the Defender at the long-term parking at Alice Springs Airport, then collected it when I was done and went to Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon, Coober Pedy, Port Augusta, Broken Hill and back to Queensland. On the way there I went via Winton, Mt Isa and Tennant Creek. Enjoy all your videos - they keep me motivated about traveling around.
Great to have tracks like this, so many have been bitumenised or otherwise commercialised like you mentioned, takes all the fun out of it. I hope they don't change this one

Great video! You might enjoy Australian Wildlife Conservency (AWC) videos & their work with conserving and also re introducing captive bred indigienous endangered animals in large remote fenced off areas, keeping them safe from roaming foxes and cats...such a great cause & also a charity..
Great video, thank you. When you went past palm valley camp site, deeper into the valley, was it possible to wild camp? Are 11 mins you mentioned a wild camping site by the Finke River, any location details would be appreciated. Thanks again
Another fabulous production Stefan, thank you for sharing your visible excitement and appreciation of the region. Cheers

I loved my visit to Uluru and Kata Juta in 2017. Amazing place indeed.

Yep, ABC talking now of the Tanami & Others being Bitumen. I believe this is for future electric vehicles & the phase out of Fossil fuel vehicles.

no there was no way to camp wild outside the dedicated campground in the Palm Valley, unfortunately.
Beautifully done, Stefan. Great footage. Really enjoy your stuff. Cheers G.
