  • How to install a dado blade on a Sawstop woodworking tablesaw and set the blade brake spacing. This tutorial is shown on a Sawstop 3hp PCS with breakaway view of the outer blades and chippers as they relate to the dado blade brake.

    turning the riving knife handle down seems like it is loose....is that ok?

      I like the riving knife to have a light but positive action. The riving knife shouldn't wiggle or feel loose at all. The handle gives you pretty good leverage. It's adjustable so you can set it the way you like. Thanks

      @@TheThoughtfulWoodworker but when using dado set, the riving knife is out of the picture....so the handle just sits in downward position, kinda loose?

      @@waterbuddy92 Yes it's okay if it's loose when not in use. As long as it's turned fully downward. Sometimes the saw won't calibrate if you don't turn the handle all the way down. Thanks.

      @@TheThoughtfulWoodworker Well, you mentioned that Jonathan Katz-Moses tested a dado stack in the Sawstop and carbide teeth flew everywhere. I want to watch that video.
