Honestly Im still slightly scared by the cube robot thing...feel like every time you turn your back it pops out.

The betas for both are frigging insane, but for very different reasons.
The HL2 beta was an even more nightmarish dystopia than what we ended up getting, whereas the portal 2 beta was an insane technological fever dream
@@hackr6751 the HL2 we got was way less dystopian _feeling_ though.
Dunno if it was just my experience playing it but given what we see from Gordon's eyes, the citizens live kinda like ppl under the occupation of the Soviet union, rather than a nightmarish extra dimensional alien combine most of the time.
Similarly, this portal 2 beta feels way more... Decadent and bizarre than what we got.

None of this was finished product, so they didn't excactly consider putting it in as it was - Even if they stuck mostly with the same choices and concepts, you'd still see the level of polish and development that the cores did get.

anyways, i discovered this video on my birthday in a very beautiful time for me. i was looking through the community tab for portal (still not sure why, but i was) when i found this song, loved that section of the song i knew so much id go everywhere singing it when eventually i decided to give in and play the actual song and fell in love. it took me a little time to properly emerge into tally hall, but i was enchanted by the quirky lyricism, 2000s garage rock charm and blending of creepy themes into this one beautiful song. but yeah, if youre here, a long time later, watching this video fascinated by the unique nature of this song, for some reason reading this comment, then do me a favour. get on some headphones or turn on a speaker and listen to tally hall's marvin's, good and evil, and the side projects miracle musical and joe hawley joe hawley.
