Rock Hudson Complete Life Story (History and Nostalgia) Rock Hudson Movies Rock Hudson is likely most remembered, whether he would’ve liked it or not, as the face of the AIDS epidemic that ravaged the gay community and many others during the 1980s and ‘90s. But his life wasn’t that of a martyr, nor necessarily one of empowerment. Rather Hudson was a man of his time, who left an irreplaceable legacy in Hollywood history during his all too brief life. Born Roy Harold Scherer Jr. in 1925, Hudson was raised in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka. His father left the family when he was a young child and moved to Los Angeles. He was later adopted by his stepfather, who changed his last name to Fitzgerald. Hudson's stepfather was an abusive addict who violently discouraged the young man from acting. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Read more about the Rock Hudson Life Story: geni.us/RockHudsonBiography ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 💥 History and Nostalgia Channel: (20th Century History Documentaries)💥 Welcome to the Remember This UA-cam History and Nostalgia Channel where we discuss thought provoking subject matter from recent the recent past... get ready for 20th Century History Documentaries content on all things from conspiracy theories to real events and how they shaped our lives. I just looked at his wonderful series McMillan and wife. Excellent. We need mores tv shows like that. Rock Hudson. Gone but will never be forgotten. God is the only one who can judge him🙏🌷❤
Had no idea about the struggles of his early life then what he had to face in Hollywood not being able to be his authentic self. The subject is treated with kindness and respect and although Rock’s life was full of challenges he achieved so much and indeed helped to bring awareness to the HIV at the time. He had quite the screen presence and I loved him in Giant.
Rock Hudson♥️ Was An Extraordinary♥️ Fantastic♥️ Talented Actor♥️ Plus He Was A Gorgeously Handsome Man♥️ With Dreamy Bedroom Eyes♥️ May Rock Hudson🌹♥️🌹 Rest In Eternal Peace✝️🕊✝️
Just as a teenage I had so many favourite stars. 70 years ago I wrote for photos. I never felt an a connection to Rock. I thought he was good looking. I knew nothing of homosexuality but he just never appealed. I’m astonished his dear wife never felt it. How I hope with all heart she found a better life. Dear Phyllis’s gates I send you all all my love.❤
Rock Hudson was a heat throb...his life is so public how could he have kept it quiet... I remember him for his movies and not because died of HIV AIDS...why remember him for his death? Remember him for his life. I loved many of his movies he was a wonderful actor.
Hey Phil, thank you for making these videos. You have a very pleasant voice and a calm demeanor. I instantly subbed. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Greetings from Germany. ⬛🟥🟨
Wnat lovely man he was. Truly a soldier his whole life. When the entire world was against anyone who lived outside the expectations of so called decent society. I'd rather his soul than those who judge people
The Australian director of the 2022 movie "Elvis" should write/direct a theatrical movie biopic on the life and career of Rock Hudson. I apologize that I forgot his name.
I loved him as an actor, particularly in Giant and in Pillow Talk. I saw Pillow Talk at the Sydney Film Festival a few years ago. It was great to see it in a cinema as I had only seen it on TV or DVD until then. People in the cinema laughed and really enjoyed it and by then it was over 55 years old. I loved him in McMillan and Wife and I recall reading his book written just before he died. It was a sad revelation, that he had to live his life in the closet and the only place he could be himself was at his home called The Castle. I was very sad when he died. I hated Marc Christian, a gold digger and a grifter. He did not deserve the law suit claiming that Rock didn’t tell Marc he had aids so he could keep sleeping with him. It was a lie. I believe Hudson was bisexual, not homosexual, as he had relationships with women too, particularly Marilyn Maxwell. But the love of his life was Tom Clarke with whom he lived for many years, and when he was dying Tom moved back in and cared for him until his death. Marc Christian was there and did nothing, he just called the press after he died so he could make money, and there was a big undignified scene of Rocks body being taken out of The Castle in the back of a van. No one at the time could work out how the press found out. Then they checked the phone records and there were two outgoing calls straight after Rock died. One to Elizabeth Taylor and one to the National Enquirer….. it wasn’t hard to work out who made the call.
Sorry to say, but he was definitely very handsome, but no great actor. I feel sorry for him as I do for others who sold their bodies to make a career. I even cannot imagine how it feels. I'm talking about men and women. No, I have to correct myself, I do not feel sorry, when those people later on show severe mental problems in their lives. You always have a choice.
