This was my first marching show. You can actually see me booking it at the front of the line at 8:43 lol. These people made a profound impact my life, especially the senior class of 2018. Thank you. As I'm reminiscing my four years in this band, I can't help but imagine: "What If?" What If I had given my absolute best effort as a freshman? What If I had spread more positivity in the culture of the band? What If I learned everyone's name, and got to know them a little better? What If I put more trust in my friends? What If I had shared my dream with others? As an alumni, here is my advice for any current members of this incredible, world-class, love-driven music program. A dream is a wish your heart makes. It is up to you alone to fulfill that wish. Share your dream with people who you trust. When many people share a dream together, no dream is "too ambitious" or "unrealistic". Ignore the numbers, ignore the negativity, focus on your DREAM!!!
Unfortunately KM seems to be a shadow of what they used to be. What are they averaging numbers wise... 140??? David Starnes isn’t exactly known lately for stellar show design, just look at Carolina crown. I will say though that the members did a good job with what they were given and it was packaged well even if it was very corny.
@@pumpkin462 Starnes hasn't been with Kennesaw for several years, he left after 2011 and the next director, McGrath, left after 2016. While Kennesaw had been declining through the latter half of the 2000's and early 2010's due to decreases in size caused by new schools, we were still a finalist band up to 2014. However, the loss of our incredible vis caption head and some pretty poor decisions on competition attendance in '15, combined with an incredibly bad design led to the 12th place placement at Atlanta in '16. Though the current directors and ed staff are very good, that type of instability was obviously no good competitively. There were also some questionable decisions made by the semis judges, placing Kennesaw in 25th after a pretty obviously deserved 16th place in prelims.
@@adamgray2060 Was not Allatoona High school the last school established in Cobb, which was 2008. Idk. But Cobbs bands have all been decreasing in size, even Lassiter. I'm a bit worried. Even Harrison has Shrunk in size. Who knows. Cobb county has great bands programs but like I said I'm worried.
@pumpkin462 you are entitled to your opinion, but please don't speak negatively about the band program. This channel exists to show a part of the school's history and not about scoring and "which band is better?"
