very useful series. Please keep it up. love reading the forum - but it consumes a lot of time. You are just so much faster and watching one of these short videos every day will keep us perfectly informed.

re. the car alarm: 4 ferry trips across Bass Strait (2 x return Melbourne to Burnie). 2 segments were relatively smooth, 2 were sufficiently rough to rule out using the elevators in the passenger section. On all occasions, instead of locking the car with the fob, I simply turned the key 90 deg anticlockwise to lock the car. The lights do not flash.
My "intuitive" understanding was that while this activates/deactivates the door locks, it does not activate the alarm. While other vehicles' alarms were triggered on the "rough" crossings, mine wasn't... maybe I was just "lucky".
There's no tell tale flashing LED anywhere as in other makes to indicate whether or not an alarm has been set...
wondering what others may have experienced.
Next time I'll remove the fuse! Thank you Ingemar👍

quite interesting. might not be activated by the key - will try to find that out. thx

The left side door lock... the heater issue... the damned noisy alarm... Yup, my Grenadier has thrown those at me... Thanks, Ingemar - most helpful...
I must explore the mapping system one day... it looks like fun.

i was surprised that the alarm went off on the ferries! luckily thiose things can be fixed/worked around. the heating still needs some update regarding the controls. u would expect more in a modern car

Nice one, Ingemar, this will help many. Yep, I've had all those issues. And worth saying, the door latch issue will lock you out of 'drive' (which is itself stupid as it prevents you looking out of the door during low speed reversing, which you need to do as the driver's side mirror won't rotate out enough). I suggest the latch issue is serious enough for an official recall under modern regs. If the latch won't catch once you're in the car, it can be hard to fix, beyond repeatedly slamming the door! My dealer fixed the complete absence of heat, but the output is still low and slow and the system poorly calibrated - I doubt max range is beyond 7 degrees, unevenly distributed across the dial control. Then, at less than full heat, the split up/down (standard wet winter setting) control blows cold air at your feet.
Never had such a poor heater control on a car - even 'old' Defender was better! A mystery how it got through production sign-off. I know it wouldn't have been approved during cold weather testing in Sweden (where most auto manufacturers test). Ineos are well aware of these issues, so I'd urge all owners to make a fuss about them. Ineos dealers are frustrated with the issues too and are keen to iron them out. And this isn't just a few unlucky cars, it's nearly all of them. Unhappy customers are a pain and online reputation a real risk these days. But if we don't shout, we won't get. And let's face it, these 'niggles' are unacceptable on any modern car, let alone one like this, which is mostly an absolute joy and a brilliant piece of engineering.

totally agree!! i don‘t understand why they can‘t fix those things quicker 🤷🏻‍♂️.
btw: it should only kick you out of „D“ if you don‘t wear the seatbelt AND open the door.

    • @jameshoward9700
      @jameshoward9700 Рік тому +1

Cheer! Yes! As for no seatbelt - pretty standard when I'm in the farmyard moving trailers. Also, doesn't the rear camera turn off in some combinations of low range/off road mode? I need to go out and re-test - last time I lost the camera I was more concerned with my cows..! Oh, and the occasional impossibility of transferring from Hi to Low box... These things are sent to try us! Do keep u[p the great Grenadier content Ingemar!@@grenadier_exploring

A little suggestion for your car alarm issue. Instead of pulling the fuse (not circuit breaker, sorry I realize there may be a translation... thing) you can buy a fuse tap and wire it to a switch that you can merely turn on or off. Only problem is, where to place the switch and do you or don't you drill a hole for it somewhere? I have used a screw holding something else to mount a flat piece of sheet metal or plastic which then holds the switch.

as far as i know it‘s just the diameter of a small bolt. that should be fixed easily. in some early models they just filed them a bit and fixed it. sure they will solve it soon

Hi Ingmar, thank you very much for the insights. And as a lot of ohers I have the door know issue and the poort heating system. Is there any possibility to turn off the alarm function on the key? I am ahubter and it happened already three times that I turned on the alarm - so good for the boar not good for me.

    Hello Ingemar,
I have one more question regarding the mounting of the AX27.
I have the AX 27 and the Max awning from The Buschcompany and exceed the dynamic roof load even higher.
I have also ordered the RhinoRack from Ineos and fixed it to the crossbars (3 on each side). That was quite a lot of work. And just taking it off quickly doesn't work. How did you mount your roof tent on your HGM rack? Thank you for your commitment. Wolfgang

Re Cooling System Bleeding Routine for Deisel:
After 1.) 'Open Vehicle Hood', the next step should be to 'Open the Cap of the High Temperature Circuit'? Is that correct? Thanks

@@grenadier_exploring Hi guys... CCU could stand for "Central Control Unit"... makes sense since this controller (in conjunction with the "software") is the central element that provides/executes/enables temperature control.

Nice video. Re the maps, it’s a real shame Ineos did not install an Android infotainment system then you can have Google maps directly on the car system and sync accounts etc…. much more convenient than phaf with USB sticks

Android Auto should work so i can display google maps etc and sync your contacts! that’s what i do with Apple CarPlay.
The workaround in this video is for the Basic Pathfinder system installed in the car (if you don’t have any cell coverage etc.)
