I would love to know which test kit is most accurate, as compared to an ICP control.
I appreciate the effort you have put into showing the different testing options available, but you omitted to point out that once you have purchased the Hanna Checker, you can simply purchase those reagents, so after that initial investment, you purchase the reagents only which makes future tests that much cheaper. I appreciate you showed the 25 reagents and associated costs , but it wasn’t that clear.
It’s been a long time since I purchased a Red Sea kit, but I believe the same applies, whereas, certainly Salifert, you are buying the whole kit again, I’m not familiar with the others in this test, but I suspect they are the same.
How did they compare on accuracy. I have API, Red Sea and Hanna and lately Hanna has been off significantly. I have carefully tested making sure no air bubbles or finger prints were in the vial and followed all instructions correctly. Red Sea and API read about 8-10 while Hanna is showing 30’s.
Good job 😊 not to long of a vid & really hit on the important things . Phosphate would be cool , Really enjoy your work . I really think your something 😊 Thanks
I found it very informative... And look foward to all your video,s.. I learn something in every one !
Parabéns! Vídeo incrível!
Loved this video! Very helpful! Thankyou
This is good idea , seems like one of the complicated test . A update is welcome . & I think you'll do a good job . You go Hillary. Im a fan ❤
You missed probably the most important thing to look at: ACCURACY of the test. I've seen other videos comparing Nitrate test kits and they don't share that information either! Forget about ease, time, shelf life, price and number of tests...if one of them stands out as being far more accurate than the others, that is the one I am buying! I have both the Hanna Checker Nitrate Tester and API's Nitrate Test kit for saltwater. The Hanna Checker consistently reads 18-21 ppm. API test kit consistently reads 5-10 ppm but definitely no where near 20 ppm. That's a HUGE difference! At 20 ppm I want to get the nitrate down, but 5-10 ppm is just right. So which one is correct??? I don't know so I am now buying the NYOS Nitrate Test Kit to break the tie! LOL
You're making fantastic videos!
I'd like to know about all of them.
Not even sure what tests to do now when the cycle is done.
Love your posts !!
I would love to see a comparison of the top ICP companies for cost and easy to read results.
My Hanna Nitrate High Range nitrate is always bang on with results from ATI. Ditto with the Phosphate ULR.
I have tried all kinds of test kits and the one I use is the Hanna checker when you are color blind you are limited on test kits where one color looks one way but could be a different one
Even if you aren’t colorblind it can be difficult to see the difference in shades. I appreciate test kits like the Red Sea one, where you can easily compare against a control. I am curious to see if anyone does an accuracy comparison with ICP tests
Would've really liked to see all these tests used on a tank with nitrates to test accuracy between models. Especially when using color coded tests compared to Hanna.
which is the most accurate?
Great comparison. Personally, I love using my Hannah for ease of use. But, API has always been my fall back and have them for far more parameters than I do colorimeters.
At the end of the day, these are all still hobby grade tests and will only give us a ball park accuracy. But I find it hard to beat Hannah's precision and API's cost for my own tank.
I hope you do more of these.
??? What is great about this “comparison” no-accuracy test?
Yes more like this
Potassium test kits please
Accuracy is the most important test who cares how easy and cheap if it's inaccurate. API is junk and doesn't seem to work at all compared to the Salifert test kit I compared it to. The Salifert read 50ppm while the API still says zero.
Hanna takes me around 3 min not ten
What is the point of testing without measuring the accuracy? It started really good but then no accuracy. Thumb down. Wasted time. Sorry.
