Nice vid. I have one question I hope you guys can answer: is the dog from 4:13 to 4:16 of this vid is a purebred malinois? He looks exactly like my mali! Lack of the typical black mask, that not bushy tail and the general color pattern (especially that narrow black band along the neck)...is the same! This is the first time that I see a malinois looking like mine! My mali was adopted as an adult and I can't figure out his origin. So is that color pattern (especially the lack of the typical black mask) is just a very rare but normal variant of the malinois or is it a result of an admixture of two different breeds? Thanks.
@@Audemarrrr_ You mean a mix of two different purebreds? Do you have an idea which breeds could result to that appearance? I can't figure out! Thanks for your input.
Thank you for your comment. I understand what you are saying. French Ring is a fast-paced sport and I like fast editing to go along with it. I've created a new video of the Western Regional Championship from last year that is still edited quite fast. But I did slow down some sequences to show the exercises in more depth. There is also a lot of slow motion in the new video which allows for people to see more of what is actually going on. Thanks, again!
How do you get started in this sport, where can I find a breeder with dogs with this drive but that are social and you are able to live with, on/off switch , great video , very inspiring
Thomas Howlin malinois don’t have an off switch lol. If you want one from this kind of working lines, don’t expect him to be ever chill 😂. Great dog, but they’re pretty much active 23 of the 24 hours a day. Definitely not your common pet
If you want a working dog with high drives but a little more chilled, look at a Dutch Shepherd. Basically a first cousin to the Mal. I bred and trained Mals for years but I still believe the hardest suit bite I ever took was from a 85 lb Dutch.
@@thomashowlin4353 Working dogs with high drives, which most malinois that I know and work with are, must be closed in kennels or apartment boxes, when you go away. Otherwise you risk serious damage to your property. This is even beneficial to them, because the environment stimulation is limited to a minimum, so they can get some quality rest. Good working dog with high drives does not or even can not calm itself, if there is some stimulation around him.You must provide environment for this. Some dogs benefit from almost completely covered kennels or boxes. Then they can sleep more and better. If this is practiced in normal activity /rest ratio, this can really be beneficial, not only for the dog, but also you and your property. Puppies especially with their high prey drive don't stop at anything. My friend's dog was left in a secure room in a house (my friend thought so) as a puppy. Nothing in there, solid floor, walls and just a few old blankets, for dog to lie on. When he returned, the blankets were in pieces, and the electrical outlet was pulled out of the wall. The dog didnt bite through the cords yet, so all was relatively well. They must really be secured well, when you're gone. Some of them are more calm, but you asked about the good ones with high drives. A 2 to 4 hours activity is a must, allmost every day. And this means also mental excersise, not just running to the horizon and back. They love learning.
Showdogs should be illegal especially for working breeds. I mean it doesn't hurts chihuahuas or bagels anymore but it damages malinois and many other breeds.
@@hansstrouf The Dutch Shepherd is now considered a different breed but you are right about the origins. Lakenois, Groenendaals and Tervurens are Malinois with a different dress
all are allowed but they dont make it to that level bro. Om that type of level (Ring, IPO and PH) usually you will see dutchies, terveuren, malinois, bouviers, german shepards and sometimes dobies and rotties
Very cool to see the women rocking the ring ... tough sport for a dog and handler impressive work for sure
Great vid thanksss

I need to know the name of the malinois at 3:07 😍 looks identical to one of my mal’s relatives

Too many cuts in the vid in my opinion. Hard to tell what’s going on if you don’t already know about FR.

Are mixed breeds allowed
Inevitably since the Dutchman is a Malinois with a different dress, he is in the Belgian lineage
