Thank you for sharing this information. I have a query..
my pap smear report says that I have High-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions. What are the causes of HGSIL? I had intercourse around 10 years back. Does hpv takes so many years to reach this stage? Can the size of the lesions clarify the time when the infection took place? Is it possible that hpv can be transmitted to our body by nonsexual activities? Wanted to know the cause of my lesions: is it due to an infection during sexual intercourse happened 10 years back or due to some non-sexual transmission happened in the recent past? Please clarify
Thank you
Hello 👋🏻 I am not a doctor, but I have personal experience as well as medical training. Usually a healthy body will clear HPV on its own. This timeframe varies greatly. I was told “it clears in less than two years” usually. It ia possible that your exposure 10 years ago exposed you to HPV, you fought it off (mostly) and a dip in your immune system allowed it to proliferate once again. This happened to me. My immune system was weakened from pregnancy and the HPV “came back”.
As far as you being exposed via non sexual means; apparently that is a medical possibility.
Yeah it can take 10 yrs or more to turn into cancer .. usually the reasons are genetic plus risk factors like multiple s*Xual partners , smoking , use of oral contraceptives , immunocompromised people etc ..if u r genetically susceptible and on top of that if u r smoking or any other risk factors are present then it will take less time to occur and definitely it will change to hsil ...but from normal to hsil takes yrs
Notes....pls
