I am in the VR&E program and it was a crap show to actually get approved for it. The counselor was incompetent and denied me initially because of "reasons" that they could not explain other than audits wouldn't allow it. Then I contacted a Department of Rehabilitation representative (not knowing they work together) and they said I DID qualify. I told the DOR rep about the experience and it turned out that I was lied to. Just be prepared to be persistent because there are people in positions in that organization that just don't care or might be incompetent.

My prospective career is MRI tech and is relatively relaxed with minimal exposure to traumatic events. I applied to VR&E a week ago and I am just waiting on my initial meeting date.
