i will never stop talking about this series. i’m 32 and i have watched it 22 times through. i feel such a deep connection with it, especially as a private school kid in 2005, who lived on all of the songs they used in the series (from the ben gibbard songs, to the gorillaz, to modest mouse, etc.) but most importantly, it depicts the juxtaposition of the love and grief i have dealt with, not just throughout my adolescence, but also in my adulthood, so well that i will return to it time and time again. i CANNOT thank you enough for not only writing this book (which i am finally reading), but allowing it to be depicted visually, and so beautifully at that.

The characters in this novel were uniquely quirky, people that can be so varied and detailed. It allowed.me to truly connect and dissect their feelings. I read it probably 5 times.in 3 months. And as someone with Aspergers it just helped me realize so much with depression, trauma, social interaction, friendships, and a lot more. I just wanted to say, John I read looking for Alaska at a moment in my life when I really need it. It was one of the first times that a book gave me goosebumps and Affected me so much that it became a safe place for me. It truly was one of the greatest things I needed at the time to help me get out of the dark place I was in. I’ve read the book over 30 times now and every time I still remember the scared girl I was when I read it, how much it helped me, and how far I’ve come.

Buddy, I am 50 years old, have never read your novels, and only learned about Looking for Alaska a couple of days ago because UA-cam spitted up THIS clip after watching a bunch of MentalFloss videos. I binged it, with a 2 day break at five....Beautiful stuff. I wept mulitple times.....but, damn, it was about friendships...and the intensity that you feel them at this age. It taps into so much of the fire that was at that age. How romantic EVERYTHING seemed, at all times, because it was the FIRST time. I can see that this was very real for you. Thanks. The series was great. It missed one thing, at the end....but I'm okay that it decided to ignore it.

This book has changed my life. I'm a junior in high school, and all my life i've disliked ELA classes and reading, especially when they would assign books, i hated reading and audio book. Until I read Looking for Alaska, I got to pick it out of a list of books recommended to me, and I thought this book was going to be more adventurous like the book Into wild which we read earlier this year. But I can safely say its not, and this book is the first book I've read front to back on my own, and I've enjoyed it. and It has changed how I view books, I've been starting to put my phone down to read, and see what happens next. So, thank you John Green.

But it was okay . Yet anyway loved the pranks. Even though the overall book was okay for me I feel that there was sth huge missing from it. Something I can't point to. I might be the only person in the entire world who didn't get to love the book the way that I wanted to love it. I mean I had this book with me for ages and I kept struggling with it. For me it's hard to point out what's exactly wrong with it , it's more like a "I wanted to feel more out of this book kinda feeling" .And I think Alaska deserved a better ending. I mean after going through all of that, if that was me I don't think I would've mentally survived. Being a person (like any other human being on the planet) that relies on books to feel better inside ,to just escape this world for awhile, for that short period of time from start to finish ,I just didn't feel that feeling I usually get while reading books. I have always been a strict enforcer of the rule "if the book came first, read the book first," but I can't make sure every person on earth follows my rule. Knowing the author of some of my favorite novels fully supports and enjoys the adaptations of them makes me feel so much better about all the people who won't read the book.
