While considering buying a 914 in the mid 80s the driving salesman took us around the fastest corner I think I have ever taken. It felt like the tires were going to rip right off the car. Low, wide, short and light makes for fast cornering. I had bought a new Firebird with a/c instead though. I had since bought a Fiero (not the fastback every Japanese sportscar looking GT version, the unique 914 looking version) and had it lowered to the extreme with the best available suspension (similar layout to the 914)(it also had a/c). With more money than brains in my younger days I have had some pretty nice cars and got lots a various traffic tickets, but easily had more fun in that Fiero under the speed limit than any other car at any speed. EVERY corner was just fun. City driving was fun.
