I lived my first 6 years in Ajo. We moved in early 1977. If you are still there we lived on Guest House drive which is on the sw side of town between the school and the open pit mine. We used to walk down to the town park and every year they had a Christmas celebration there. We would also go to the lookout above the open pit frequently as it was only a few minutes walk. My mom would take us hiking up A mountain while my dad would go golfing at the golf course on the north side of town.

Did you see the murals at the town square? The town square is sooo beautiful and the coffee shop is devine! Sitting outside and taking in the local vibe while enjoying the coffee was such a highlight for me.
I saw the cute area with the archways. I got coffee there one morning. ☕💖

I have a Coleman camp oven like yours. Love, love love it! If you have problems with things burning in the bottom and raw on top. Get a pizza stone and put it in the very bottom. Works perfectly.

Ajo has Olsens on 85. They have vegetables. Not like Safeway, but they have a decent selection. :)
YES there is a REAL grocery store/hardware....OLSENS...and a family dollar too

There is a grocery store in Ajo it's called Olson's marketplace across from there is an RV park where you can have a shower for a dollar... You don't have to stay there to have the shower for a dollar either. It is called belly acres RV park there is also a laundromat that used to be a drive-in restaurant there is also a really good car wash and it's cheap

What an awesome christmas!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Jan.7 here. Sitting in my bed eating a beef brisket bbq sandwich and feeding my dogs. Sorry ..I'm a carnivore..but your food always looks so good. I've tried a few things and they were delicious.
Having almost the same. I don't eat a lot of meat but brisket, roast beef..cant resist.
How is the ground on the dog's feet? Do they ever get pricked by that deadly looking cactii? How do you keep from getting lost. I don't see any road signs. Do you follow GPS coordinates to not get lost? The Christmas tree is so cute! Lunch looks yummy.

I couldn't make it to Arizona-😭...weather was to severe. Loved watching this after I drove 2/3 of the way but had to come back. Very nice. Maybe next time. I am not a full timer. Just a traveler. Happy New Year!
