- 2023 has been a stacked year for gaming. From Zelda, to Mario, to Spider-Man and more, we are here once again casting our votes for The Game Awards. Who do you think is going to win Game of the Year? Let me know in the comments!

OG Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 came out 20+ years ago and were considered the granddaddy of CRPGs (the precursor games to your western rpgs like Skyrim or Dragon Age Origins). BG3 is a very different game but it retains the top-down perspective and its the best turn-based RPG on the market. I don't blame ya if it doesn't interest you, these games were traditionally seen as inaccessible by even old developers who tried to switch over to more accessible forms of western RPG such as the examples I posted above. There's little to no filler encounters and every fight has a neat little puzzle or way of resolving it. People love the amount of options they get when resolving a single fight. Think what ToTK did for open-world games but done in a turn-based rpg.
The fact Persona 3 Reload isnt In the most anticipated list saddens me. But yeah I truly think itll either be Totk or Baldurs gates 3 as the winner.
With what I've played and seen of all of the GOTY category games, this is probably the closest/hardest "which one deserves it most" race we've had in ages. I've played BG3, Spidey, RE4, and seen enough of Alan Wake/TOTK/Mario to feel like all together, that for once, I won't be even remotely upset if ANY of them win. But uh, JUSTICE FOR OCTOPATH and so many other games that deserved at least the nomination for stuff.
All of these games deserve it tbh, this year was absolutely bonkers (in the best way)
I had such a difficult time to vote for best game of the year and RPG.
My heart couldn't handle the stress and I wished I could vote more than once 😂
I guess we'll see who the nominations when it comes around.

Did I nominate the rest of the FF16 soundtrack? Also yes.
You GOTTA play Spider-Man 2, i was shocked you didnt vote on Spidey for some of these until you said you hadn't played it yet, its my personal GOTY

Hogwarts Legacy didn't get even a single nomination. That is just plain idiotic.
