For your information there are already a central sanskrit university in india. In kashi there are several sanskrit university. There are lal bshadur shastri national sanskrit university in india.
Some if these sanskrit university are so modern tgat they start giving online certificate and diploma.
So you don't have to worry for sanskrit. Sanskrit can survive even without your help.

The source of mahayana sutras are unknown. The many theories about it say nothing about its indian origin.
Currently these Mahayana sutras are preserved in Chinese , Tibetan and Sanskrit language. That makes 1/3rd sutras are in sanskrit. The problem is that you wish to project Indian pre mogul or pre East india as a glorious one Without any issues. One must be honest to admit that we had a lot of good things but we were not the best as we had our own share of slavery , mired in caste system and our own internal colonization. Right wing problem of restoring a glorious past that never was and Left wing problem of a Utopia that never will be .

He is very fond of using the word “decolonization “ but does not realize that a lot of good things were also done in India by so called colonizers. He will never talk about Freedom of religion, freedom of conscience. He himself sits in the US enjoying all the freedom and the goodies and lectured others about decolonization.
