There are many videos of temporary housing or camping structures like this. Although this is the first I've seen that incorporates a boat, it's not the first to be paired to a bike. Try looking up 'Corplast' or Paul Elkins.

Ok, that’s a seriously neat invention!! I would love something like that, only as a pull behind trailer for my motorcycle. I enjoy camping and fishing, so that would be perfect.
This concept under $500 would change America's homeless shelter problem. It would also open the riverways back up into business which many towns in the west were established this way. You could effect in turn help the world economy with this idea.
carbon dioxide is very good for the Earth Biosphere. What matters much more in the design is energy efficiency and no garbage output. If you achieved it, you're good. I'm working on that now.
Really well thought out and constructed. I would love to build one myself. Will there be licensed Diy plans for sale before the production of the finished market product. I live in the US so importing a finished one would be out if reach for most normal folks.
It is a very good idea, and a great way to get free camping. The police are not used to looking for someone out on the water and would have trouble finding you and being able to tell you to move along.
That's pretty cool. I wish there was at least some reference to materials and a little about construction. A diy person could take that information along with a few screen shots for dimensions and run with it.
@@joewoodchuck3824 Agreed. But you sound adventurous and motivated, why not try making one based on this video? It looks like blue foam insulation board available in most home improvement stores. Maybe you know someone with an old bicycle and battery operated boat motor to donate? You could also look at other videos, granted they may only incorporate the bike and shelter..... but not the boat. Try looking for 'Corplast' shelters made by Paul Elkins. Also try looking for 'Bicycle camping trailers or caravans.' I love to browse the many lightweight designs and ideas! Some have the bike built in, others are towed. Some are for one or two people and can fold up. Many are solar powered for lights, battery or phone charging.
It's been done before just hasn't been commercially available. But I have seen a couple very similar ( idea wise ) examples here in Northern California. They were done using a gas powered 3 wheel scooter for on road and a small gas powered outboard engine on water. The scooter attaches to the mini house boat / trailer using a small 5th wheel set up. It's really a cool setup but I think the builder just made the 2 and it never went further
In “The States,” we must register a boat (with motor or sail) with the State and display the registration number on the boat. And, of course, we must pay an annual registration renewal fee.
@stan Lee Yes, the state does the taxing. (I made no mention of the feds.). And, in Michigan, if you put a motor, engine, or a sail on it, it does not matter how small it is, if there is a human on board, it MUST be registered and you get the privilege of paying an annual fee. 🤪

Amazing.. have you thought about Rotomolded hull..? My father is in the business and takes on many projects to build the molds that resign is put into, then into an oven where the mold is rotated 8 ways to coat the inside evenly.. once the mold comes off, it is completely durable and UV protected. will last 100 years.
Watch 2:30 again. Notice he takes his feet completely off the pedals. And maybe *pay attention* to the videos you watch before you call other people rude names.
Super cool! But, I must point out one thing that these types of people always have in common: They don't have rent to pay. It always seems that the people able to chase their dreams have some kind of head start- old money in the family, an inherited house, career set up through nepotism etc. Many of us in the world dream of doing such things, but we have families to provide for, and a rent or mortgage to pay. This lifestyle is simply not an option. Would be nice, though...
If you use a bicycle camper-trailer, the cops give you a $200 ticket if you try to sleep in it at night, but if you are in a boat, they don't, so the best type of bicycle camper-trailer is one that floats and prevents you from getting arrested / ticketed by cops each night you try to sleep.
Be cool to see the back wheel be shaped like a propeller that you just rotate 90 degrees when you in the water to use as a propeller rather then a wheel.
Perhaps I didn't see it correctly... lol...What I thought I saw was a tricycle. Once pulled out of the water the two wheels pull out from the sides & off you go. I honestly don't remember a 'back' tire.
Love your idea I cant think having them wheels underwater at all is a good idea. I would probably use a mid drive motor with chain drive to the water wheel bearings will hold up better and mid drive electric motors are better for pulling a load.
They're only down until the boat is afloat, then he raises them up. The grease is unlikely to get washed out of the bearings from a short period of immersion, and bike wheels have to cope with getting soaked in normal usage, so it should be fine. If you think about it, road-portable boats are almost always launched from a trailer on a slipway, even into salt water, and they don't have special wheels or bearings to cope.
this is the definition of freedom.
The windshield wiper killed me. Brilliant thinking outside the proverbial box on the entire design. I camp out of my small plane myself, and can even sleep inside it, so I can relate to this.
