I once asked dougo about buying a boat like that because I wanted one. When he messaged back and said that thing was more then he could handle my wife said not a chance 😂😂😂. Thank you Doug I will forever live boat Vicuriously through you 👍👍👍👍. It is a sweet boat tho and I'd fill the tank to go for a ride on a nice July day 😂😂😂😂
So the flower couch had to go! Where is Toby going to sleep during his long supervision watches? At least they got the saddle tanks done, tempted to say "in record time" but that is what editing is for. Anyway you got what you wanted done apart from parts needed, so good day. Thanks for the laughter and genuine nature of these guys. Love you all. From UK.
These yearly tasks keep coming around. I truly look forward to each time of year and the associated activities that go with it. Now that I have been watching for a number of years these tasks have become part of my circle of events vicariously through these fantastic video's. I thoroughly enjoy watching each one, the people, their interactions and the appearances of missed people including Grandpa Merlyn and of course Toby the other week.
Awesome video guys. Best part was when grandpa was supervising the boat repairs 🤣. Only reason Eric keeps cross threading the bolts is because his eyes are always crossed 🤩. 🚜🚜🚜
Dougo, never start an outboard without water going to the lower unit. you likely glazed the impeller and melted the plastic water pump housing. Also to get the gear case of a DF350A on use a starter lead button direct to the starter of the motor. Meshes every time for me. Been a lead tech for a marina for close to 27 years and you all had me pulling out my hair and yelling at my PC! Keep up the good work and I look forward to planting season with you all. God bless.
Dennis Ivers rigged up to air compressors on his combine with pipes directing air & a switch inside the cab. It blows all the chaff off of the combine. Every year he gets someone while they’re loading the head. Never gets old.
As a boat mechanic this was so funny to watch and yes we have 5 guys do it 😂and theres a stand for them you normally have to hammer them on there never fun
Same guy from before who did this on top of a dirt driveway in NH! Boy this has PTSD written ALL over it, especially when the biggest Swede says “is it in neutral?” Heard that statement a few hundred times it feels like trying to line everything up. I wasn’t there physically to help but do understand I was with you spiritually screaming at that to go together for your sake’s!
Chet why don't you guys have a pair of metal cones made to fit in the ends of the sprayer tank supports? This would make it a hell of a lot easier to put the tanks on. Once in place take the cones off from under the tractor since you could make them long enough for easy access.
It’s fine, that is how we drain our motors in the late fall/early winter when we come off the lakes. You almost need another green tractor in that line up. Oh wait! Can’t wait to see the new tractor.
Is it true a little Larson on the way. If so congratulations !!!! Merlin is looking good, nice to see him. With you would sit down and talk with him once in a while about the past . Take care, spring is coming !!!
Chet you have the platform to be heard, speak freely its your first amendment right. If you stay quite the other side will always win no matter what the topic is!
I feel you on the windmills Chet. We recently had windmills put up around where we farm and they are annoying and ugly and extremely non cost effective🙄
At 12:15, is that a Montgomery Ward three wheeler in the background? I have my grandpa’s that him and my dad / uncles used to run fence line with. Started restoring it but couldn’t find information. If yours is one, any way you could send me pictures from all around it? If your like most farmers and have the Manuel somewhere, a copy would be worth more than the lottery!!
If you have a run plugged in a full ccs tank get some fittings to plumb a splitter to pull seed off the next row. Then you can plant till the tank is empty. Make sure to plug the plugged line in case it opens up.
Might need visual target 🎯 that you can see over the tank and aim for the tractor 🚜 and the saddle tanks. It is a recurring problem for installing the tanks every year. Maybe a Simple stick and a big red ball on the top. A vinyl traffic Cone sitting on the top of the saddle tank. Bungee down if it doesn't stay put. 16:24
The lower unit is called the final drive units. Is called input shaft to the prop shaft . My little sister used to put them together at the boat shop. Use of a Cheer picer or overhead crane.to hold in place. Can you play with the chef to get the final drive shaft light up with the output shaft .
Thanks for another great video Chet. It was interesting and enjoyable. Not the flower couch. Oh my goodness. We will miss it. And those that rested on it and the dogs. Goodbye couch. Boat mechanics now. Those boat motors are hard to work on. Seems everything fits just so. Running without water. Don’t know about that. Boat water pumps are touchy. Beautiful double props on that motor. Wow. Hopefully all will be ok once in the water and running!!!! Ship ahoy Dougo. Sounds like the planters are ready to go for spring planting. And you have the fertilizer tanks on the tractor. Good job done there. Looking good- - ready for spring field planting. Yeah. Saw the old hay rack. Boy that brings back memories. Used to work baling square bales each summer as a young boy. Lots of fun in the hot sun but the pay was good. Many years ago. Thanks for everything Chet and crew. Was great to see Grandpa Merlin for a while. Very nice person. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Hope you see this Chet. Try buying a Kussmaul 12volt compressors. They make them to mount vertical or horizontal. They last significantly longer than the viair. Or similar brands. I use to sell them constantly. Kussmaul out performed everytime!
Chet....you can rebuild those compressors for a lot less then replacing them those are the same compressors I have on my pickup for my train horns $220 to replace or $70 to rebuild the pump( piston and cylinder) do a little research you'll find what you need it's super simple
With your operation I can see wind towers being a pain, but if you end up farming around them one thing you'll like is the all season 80,000lb road into the field and if you happen to own some, it's a nice check for no more ground then they take up. After construction you'll have to fix every tile the crane crosses and make sure they deep rip it's track.
Good video…looking forward to some lake video. Now Dougo can swap out the rear deck speakers. It’s called a prop shaft but output shaft describes it too. Yes, marine grease on the gear shaft and prop shaft so you can get them off next time ya smack a rock😎. As already mentioned, those water impellers don’t like being run dry so always hook up the water muffs when not in water. I’m sure they coated the impeller in glycerin, but that keeps it lubed until water gets to pump (seconds not minutes). I’m no marine mechanic but have been maintaining my boats for 40 years and sometimes it’s a battle to get it stabbed and sometimes it goes on like butter. Sometimes the shifter gets bumped and you got to start over as forward isnt forward anymore which sux. I will say that’s a big motor on a toon…it should really move, especially with dual prop setup.
Hey Chet, is it possible to mount a larger diesel or petrol driven compressor on the planter with relief valves that would auto stop and start . This would do away with having to replace compressors all the time.
Do what ever you can to stop the windmills but if it is for sure happing just go with it you get used to it. In Kansas people have lost 1000s of acres from landlords due to wind make disagreements.
Isn't it crazy that we all were so attached to that flowered couch?💮🥀🌻 What a loyal Larson Farm fan base.
I'm going to miss the flower couch. It's been a staple of the show. 😅
It was a shrine. Lol
It's always fun to watch farmers work on boats.
Great to see everybody working on the boat today Grandpa looking good
you guys kill it all the time great watching you all work together always learning something be safe god bless
Grandpa Merlyn is back for a very brief apperance, I haven't seen him in ages. Great job on the added tractor saddle tanks and everything else!
I noticed that the crew was there to help Dougo put his boat back together! Well done crew!!!
I once asked dougo about buying a boat like that because I wanted one. When he messaged back and said that thing was more then he could handle my wife said not a chance 😂😂😂. Absolutely great to see Merlin in a video !!!

I’ve seen that
Gonna miss the flower couch.
You guys should have a boat life shirt bust out another thousand
Looks like a pretty productive day
Out with the struggle bus.
In with the struggle boat.
Got that pontoon ready to hit the water just in time for the first major snow of the winter! That's OK, it will be spring again in a couple of weeks.
Chet, will Jean stop by the shop sometime in the future?
Not the flowered Davenport. Keep that in the shop boys. That’s a nice couch.
Chet to Brodie, “So you are a biter too?”….”Me too”. Poor mice home relocated to the cold outdoors? Nice musical interlude!
Ok….make it hard!
The happiest days of a boat owners life…the day he buys. And the day he sells it.
Captain Dougo ready for the water.
There were a lot of opportunities for the guy from Lowry to say, "That's what she said" in this video..
How many farmers to put a boat motor bottom end back on? You folks are great, keep up the wonderful videoes
As a boat mechanic this was so funny to watch and yes we have 5 guys do it 😂and theres a stand for them you normally have to hammer them on there never fun
Put a air 10:33 brakes compressor on the planter tractor 🚜 and save on the 12v compressors.
Now have to take back apart and change the water pump
RIP flowery couch 😢

I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO Chet 😊
Great video guys. Thanks for sharing. You guys make the best offseason repair/prep work videos with the explanations and shenanigans.
Chet why don't you guys have a pair of metal cones made to fit in the ends of the sprayer tank supports?
This would make it a hell of a lot easier to put the tanks on.
Once in place take the cones off from under the tractor since you could make them long enough for easy access.
Good call. They would bolt on to the existing threads, slide right in and then swap them for the plates. Easy day. 😊
I always liked your videos chet that you make they are very entertaining
It’s fine, that is how we drain our motors in the late fall/early winter when we come off the lakes.
You almost need another green tractor in that line up. Oh wait! Can’t wait to see the new tractor.
Oh no! Say it ain’t so! Brodie without his hat again. Like Superman without his Cape!
I’m from CA and enjoy hearing your Midwest accents. West Coast is boring. 🥰
Is it true a little Larson on the way. If so congratulations !!!!
Merlin is looking good, nice to see him. With you would sit down and talk with him once in a while about the past .

Guys they make a very handy Jack for putting lower units on ! Worth its weight in gold !
Brody enjoying that Sour Apple Blow pop! Hahahaha glad to see they made it on the farm!!
Always love your vids
Chet you have the platform to be heard, speak freely its your first amendment right. If you stay quite the other side will always win no matter what the topic is!
Keep it up men,I noticed Doug avoided the cost on his B.O.A.T.
You Guys need an airplane to work on next. Enjoyed the video.
Need the Scotch Brite wheels for cleaning the plug inside for the anti-seize. 6:33 Emery cloth is a workout.
Just a idea ,You might want to use teflon spray when installing those tanks. And they should slide right in easier with less friction.
Order for stock: Emery cloth, sanding Flap wheels, And Anti-seize in a XL big bottle. 7:20
Saw that big log I bet it's beautiful inside 💯✌🏻💚🌱
"Larson's marina, where we use the right tools every time." Love it!
All Saddled up and ready to plant
I am glad the toon went together well cuz it's time to pull it back apart for a new water pump. As chet would say "junk"
No Chet it was always a struggle with those tanks, you just forgot the pain!
Looking at the props for the boat got my blood running for a summer of fun on the lake. Hope you enjoy the fruit of your labours fixing the props.
Get little fans for the compressor cooling - see if they last longer when you cool them. 23:27
I feel you on the windmills Chet. We recently had windmills put up around where we farm and they are annoying and ugly and extremely non cost effective🙄
looking like it takes every one in the shop for that job good team work

another great video
"Just between you and I Baby" Priceless!!!
omg the impeller boys and douggo
Great video
If you don't have a water muff get a trashcan full of water for testing the engine. and or a cooling 10:33 Muff and Trashcan to catch the hot water
Good videos guys
oh boy. running it without water !!!! never saw that before boys. you guys are a funny bunch
nice video. Great job guys

Love your content fyi You can rebuild the John Deere planter air pumps from a kit from air blasters ~$150.00 the new pump is over $1200
You haven't hung Brody iff the gantry crane. Or gotten a Safety Airbag for it. 3:24
I get excited when you come out with new bideos
Thanks for another great video Chet.

You know we haven't had nap on the couch scene lately. That used tobe a regular occurrence.
Always a thumbs up. Id retrofit that air pump in a heartbeat.
Get 2 way Radio walkies and Handsfree Headsets. 9:05
Another great video. Really enjoyed it. Thanks 👍❤️
They wanting to do the wind mills in henry county iowa. One hell of a fight going on. Signs everywhere. No wind mills

I had an attachment that used water from a garden hose to run it out of the water and keep it cool.
Hey Chet, is it possible to mount a larger diesel or petrol driven compressor on the planter with relief valves that would auto stop and start . This would do away with having to replace compressors all the time.
Definitely a 'thumb' up this time...
Starting a boat motor without muffs on it providing water is a bad idea, unless you like buying water pumps alot. 😅
Pump was just built,perfectly fine.
Yeah that was cringe
Wrong. You can do it for 10 to 15 seconds with no damage.
wrong, the impeller is rubber. It will overheat quickly...
@@2chippedMarine engines use a rubber water pump impeller. Starting the motor like that can quickly destroy them.

I bet Nicki is laughing her head off, looking down on all 5 of you struggling
It'll make great content if the big swead has a snorkle mask on trying to retrieve the lower unit from the bottom of the lake this summer
Use Milton brand air connections for the air lines or hose reel. High quantity!
11:16 loose wire hanging down. Oughta make a grain cart/Fertilizer spreader combination. 1 less piece of equipment.
Love ur videos chet
