There is no comparison: the original, analog, studio recording of the entire orchestra in Pye Studio that session(10/16/64) sounds so much better to my ears. It sounds ALIVE, in the moment, with brilliant musicianship and engineering. But I give this version a thumbs up for the tribute to a great, classic pop song.
Petula's PHENOMENAL and BRILLIANT vocals singing this treasure of a song is totally UNMATCHABLE. Also the masterclass trumpet 🎺 section in the totally awesome instrumental break is second to none. A SIXTIES CLASSIC THAT WILL LAST FOREVER. Thank you for this wonderful song Petula and Tony it's PURE POP PERFECTION.
