The thing from Midnight was terrifying, made worse by not knowing what it was...
@@ЛеонидПак-о9ф it would be cool to maybe have an episode about it finding out what it is and what it's capable of, but at the same time if love for it to stay a mystery that is why i love the episode so much
Midnight is still my favorite episode ever, no obvious monsters...just...weirdness....
+TheJackFroster Definitely in my top 5. Maybe even the best but it's so hard to chose I decided to name all my top 5 equally as the best ones.
+rrozinak water on mars creeper me out I couldn't sleep at all after watching it XD
The fact the doctor was so out of his depth, he almost lost, and we never ever know what that creature is, or how powerful it is, or what it could do is what makes that episode so amazing for me, it's still one of my all time fav episodes to this day
Always good to see Sally Sparrow :) But no Silence? That has to be on any hair raising list, as does the Don't Blink scene with Tennant looking into the camera.
+Mike Wood
Silence? Who's the Silence?
...
...
Do they...
Have anything...
And I mean _anything_...
...
To do with all those tally marks...?
+Mike Wood what if the silence WERE in the video but we all forgot?
+Mike Wood I totally agree. I wonder why? They could even bring Sally Sparrow back (and her boyfriend) for one episode. I also kind of dislike how they handle the new and the older Doctor episodes. They are the same show. For example, Davros has an artificial hand. I wonder if the viewers know it was blown/shot off in Revelation of the Daleks.
where the hell are the Vashta Nerada
P.H. yes but when the Doctor is explaining about the Vashta Nerada "run, just run." or at the beginning of the ep when the lights start going out. That episode and the Waters of Mars are definitely the scariest ones for me and neither are featured.
+I sold my soul to tumblr Yeah and the flood from the waters of mars. To me they are the scariest!
+P.H.
Well they kind of do. You see them more directly in that corridor scene, for example.
+P.H. Hey at least the Vashta Nerada appear more than whatever that was in "Listen" which in the end was nothing more than The Doctor's own paranoia and Clara once again being the smartest person on the show (Something I hate)
+I sold my soul to tumblr Why havent the Vashta Nerada teemed up with the angels yet?
Why do you have to remind me of the Empty Child, I'm going to have nightmares for weeks now
+Doctorwhoman186 Couldn't watch that one for seven years after it aired. Still, if only they'd kept the bit from "Tomb" where the Cybermen speak. Creepiest voice ever.
The last episode that genuinely scared me was The Waters of Mars :'(
+Tom Monty
"Cold War" was scary. After you find out the armor is empty and they are stuck in a submarine with a fast-moving alien hidden in the dark who is killing everyone because he has nothing to lose or live for anymore and you don't even know how it looks like.
"Hide" when the Doctor goes into the pocket universe to save the astronaut from something unknown.
"Listen" when he's on Earth in the future and no one is supposed to be there but something is coming in (or is it just wind?) and the Doctor is getting crazy.
This unknown threat is always quite scary to me.
rrozinak Listen was poorly done. Hide had a hilarious monster (that scene where it has a spasm down a dark corridor.) And Cold War was just meh...
Tom Monty Listen wasn't perfect (I hate the scenes with Danny/Orson which just draw us away from the actual story of the episode) but there were some really good scenes. And the whole concept of the Doctor's curiosity and fear fighting something which isn't really there was great. (I'm ton sure about the final scene with the young Doctor though... )
Cold War was an average episode but it had some really scary moments.
You neglected to include "Silence in the library" and "Who turned out the lights".
"Close door three" "He is awake". Gives me chills every time.
Great video! Love these scary moments, my personal favourite has to be the Beast taunting the characters in The Satan Pit :o
+TARDISArchives
You should have also done this kind of list now for Halloween.
That would have been cool. :)
you 10 scary monsters keeps on showing up for me and the vashtas really scare me
The Weeping Angels have to be one of the scariest things I've ever seen, and I've seen Corpse Party!
The Empty Child episode is the scariest one for me above all. I remember how I watched it for the first time and it was night and I was absolutely terrified. But I won't say the episode isn't brilliant, because oh it so is.
A new one to add to the list is that one with the ghosts. Man was that a scary episode
+Lindsay Hands (Handsprime) I didn't even watch the rest of that episode, I got so scared
Yeah this new season has gotten really, REALLY good at scaring you. Could almost make a doctor who horror movie at this point. And I like the way it is. The atmosphere really works with this doctor and I have always had a love for horror movies so this season is great for me.
No Tenth Planet? I think that first scene with the Cybermen killing a group of people and then staring with their dead eyes at the screen is terrifying O.o
Nothing post season 5 is scary. Moffat's episodes back in the Tennant era were mint.
+ThePlasticDuckys So you've never watched 'The empty Child' or 'Blink', good to know.
+Cryer24597 Oh sorry. I misunderstood the comment. I read 'post' instead of 'pre' and 'mild' instead of 'mint', but either way. Now I have to say he never seen 'Time Heist', 'Night Terrors', 'Flesh and Stone', the Silence episodes or 'The Beast below'.
I'm surprised you didn't include any clips from The Horror of Fang Rock, The Talons of Weng-Chiang, or The Curse of Fenric. Those were very scary episodes.
What of the great bits about that part in The Tomb or the Cybermen is the struggle the actors have getting out of the tombs! Love that story
Wow. Spearhead from Space scene is basically gunmen going out to the public and shooting people. Nerve-racking in a way I hadn't thought of before.
For midnight when Donna repeated what the doctor said he said “don’t do that...just don’t” the doctor was actually freaked out by that and even weeping angels and Daleks didn’t freak him out and they came in thousands but one mysterious life form copying what you say freaked him out
Good, but there should be a clip from 'The Waters of Mars'. It's the scariest episode ever by far.
The listen epsiode is definitely on my 5 scariest episodes list, I flew out of my computer chair and right under the covers XD
the scariest moment for me was when nancy hid under the table from the empty child
thank you for making this, Happy Wholloween everyone!!!
Also, Mummy on the Orient Express? The Foretold looked pretty creepy, right?
Spearhead from space used to scare the hell out of me
One of the scariest Doctor Who episodes I watched was probably Blink, the scene just after David Tennant on the screen and horrible realisation "you're not looking at the statue are you?"
Nightmares for months.
The Empty Child is more sad than scary to me.
He was literally looking for his mother.
That bloody gasmask boy gave me nightmares for weeks
Ah Blink one of my favourite Doctor Who episodes ever!
Where's the Vashta Nerada at?!
The scary episodes are some of my favourites!
The "Listen" episode never fails to creep me out and thrill me. Same as "Midnight"
So many episodes that gave me nightmares through the years (weirdly the weeping angels didn't scare me that much, but there were plenty of other monsters that did the job)
-The Unquiet Dead-the Gelth left me traumatised for YEARS and I still have trouble watching the episode without cringing somewhat
-The Empty Child-the gas mask transformation-enough said
-The Idiot's Lantern-the faceless people left me unable to watch the episode until about two or so years after I first watched it
-Midnight-pure nightmare fuel where the Doctor was left truly powerless
-The Waters of Mars-an episode that left me so scared I was awake all night and too horrified to drop off to sleep-I was scared of the taps and the shower the following day😂
-Listen-I haven't felt such chills as I did with the thing under the bed scene
SPEARHEAD FROM SPACE AUTONS! I was spooked for life when I watched it for the first time so long ago!
The ood is my pet favourite part. From it's red eyes to their tentacle mouth being covered in blood, that alien provides absolute horror.
Scared is a superpower!
You should be proud!
Midnight has to one of my favourite episodes!
"Blink" STILL scares me to death.....*shudders!*
Twelve breaking his calm demeanor for sudden loud panic sold that first moment SO well.
I wish they'd mentioned Horror at Fang Rock, but overall the list was awesome!
You wouldn't by any chance be recalling that "smile" Reuben did, would you?
That expression alone is enough to make the whole story the scariest.
No Yeti (Web of Fear, them unstoppable coming at the soldiers through the tunnels) or Sensorites (Episode 1 cliffhanger)!? Why was the classic series so needlessly poorly represented!? (Its not as-though the new series clips are in any way better than the classic clips used anyway)
I'm never sleeping again
+KAT HAWK and what about The SIlence?! some of their episodes scared me so much I had to leave the light for like a month
+KAT HAWK No point in leaving the light on. You won't remember seeing them either way.
+findingbuglantis You could mark your arms when you see them, though. :)
I watched some of these episodes they give me goosebumps.
The speech the beast gives through the ood about religion and belief is really impactful, thought-provoking and unnerving, shame they didn't include it here.
No Silent, vashta Nerade or waters on mars creatures? They all belong in this list. I think the Cyberman and the puppets don't look scary at all.
+Marloes van den Bosch
It's not a "Top x list".
Scary moments, that's all. Not the x best, not the x worst, just scary moments.
Fayez Youssef Mhm no..... he's talking about the Flood creatures from "Waters of Mars".
At school, we watched the angel scene and I nearly screamed XD
I really like the Tomb music.
"Listen" scared me half to death...that one scene...
"Hey, who turned out the lights?"
> scary doctor who moments
> oods
wait no
It's 10:30 at night, why I'm I watching this?
i wish there was an hd version of the classic doctor who
For me it was,
“Don’t Blink.”
the midnight was pretty scary
I love the empty child.
4:05 Don't think I don't see your hand moving Mr Extra!
Awesome you guys are amazing. Almost as much as The Doctor.
I have to ask where the silence is and where the Vashta Nerada is but all in all this was great. Anyone else just get chills from watching the one scene of the empty child?
the scene with the two campers from Episode 3 of The Stones of Blood is my own personal scariest moment
I'm not scared of weeping angels but somehow I'm scared of toasters
Concussion is a serious thing. You are right to be scared of toasters.
Midnight is the scariest episode for me. So creepy!
Yea, I'm having a bad dream tonight. Tennant era has the best storiest tho.
The House from the Doctor's Wife was pretty psychological. While I doubt the channel has the rights, the entirety of Scherzo would fit in here quite well.
the extra in blue jeans at 4:02 earned his pay that day... just look at him that must have hurt
No The Flood?
Also I wish someone would explain to me why the Weeping Angels are considered so scary.
I personally don't think them to be totally terrifying, but I think it's the fact that the face looks so terrifying, and you wouldn't want one to be chasing you in the dark down a hallway... That would be scary!
The Weeping Angles don't personally scare me by I know why they're scary:
Imagine a killer, a horrifying sight, that you can never look away from. Imagine the second you look away from something it moved up to you so fast, you didn't even have time to register it. Now imagine if that killer caught you, but instead of killing you outright, it ruined your life by sending you back in time, away from everything and everyone you know.
@@antonymilne1346 I enjoyed Blink at the time, but over time, the angels have just become a bit silly. Especially Liberty Angel.
you can say what you want, but the darkest doctor who moment always will be "time Lord victorious moment"
WHOA.
The BBC made a video that wasn't completely Moffat's era?
That's amazing!
This has more RTD era in it than their ten year anniversary video did.
The epilogue to the Waters of Mars. A dark Doctor was brilliantly scary.
The Oods absolutely terrify me 😫🙈
I always thought the Skye scene was hilarious 😂
Watching these while growing up was terrifying. Not so much anymore sadly.
"Are you my mummy"
I loved every second of this video
the Satan pit and The Impossible Planet were my first two doctor who episodes, weird one to start on
The only thing that scared me when I was younger were the Angels.
The scariest bit is that episode when Clara and the Doctor go into the TARDIS and the two guys with them turn into creepy two headed monster things
The old Autons look so horrifying to me. They will haunt my nightmares forever
I started watching the Doctor with my daughter this Christmas after I had marathoned all of NuWho the previous August. Once we made it to Satan Pit I had to start showing her the behind the scenes and Doctor Confidentials so that she wouldn't be scared of the show and her mom wouldn't be mad at me for giving her nightmares. Seriously though where are the Vashta Nerada, "Hey who turned out the lights?" I'm 30 years old and that creeped me out.
The Weeping Angels and the vashta Nerada were the scariest!
More like where's waters of Mars
Midnight...the scariest episode because of the scariest monsters in the universe....us....
Good to see tomb of the Cybermen on here.
For the the scariest episode used to be "Midnight" but is now "Waters of Mars"
sleep no more is by far the scariest episode ever
They forgot the scariest part of the video! The Peter Capaldi jump-scare at the end; "Don't forget to click below and subscribe to the Doctor Who UA-cam channel."
I didn't expect a classic.
The Empty Child! Nightmares for months lol
Ooookay, probably not the best idea to watch at nearly 3am.
listen- probably would have been scary but when i saw the trailer i was thinking more: big mind blowing scary! but it wasn't
midnight- yeah scary.
blink- DUH!
the satin pit- not that scary actually
the empty child- it's obvious if i think this is scary or not! i love the 9th doctor. i feel so safe with him
spearhead from space- ah! finally some classics! yeah it gave me the chills a little
the tomb of the cybermen- oh! i forgot about this one! definitely scary
Ye missed out on some good scare moments, like the flood, vashta nerada...
Nothing can beat the Weeping Angel's episode (yet?)
I thought the flood, smilers and the satan pit ones were scary ASWELL as the Angels but I'm not that scared of the Angels for some reason
mata4r43un
when I first saw them the silence kept me up for days
I don't get the hype around Listen
It's just a blanket
Literally just a blanket
wow how scary
It's not the blanket. It's what's under the blanket. It's the creature that's peering over your shoulder right now and hides as soon as you turn around.
Great video
eleven doctor)"i hope will be part 2 and do not forget the "night terrors)
3:07
I watched the 5th doctor when I was young and I barely understood doctor who. I always heard it was scary but I didn't really find it so.
Then 2005 happened and i decided to give the show a chance. I finally learned what scary doctor who meant.
10. Toby covered in markings (Impossible planet)
9. "A footprint doesn't look like a boot." (Army of ghosts)
8. "We did not have the parts" (The girl in the fireplace)
7. "Pain" (World Enough and Time)
6. A single drop (Waters of Mars)
5. "Aplans have 2 heads" (Flesh and stone)
4. Don't blink (Blink)
3. The doctor begging to be let out of Van Staton's vault (Dalek)
2. Chicken leg eaten down to the bone mid throw (Silence in the Library)
1. "Are you my mummy" (The empty child)
I never knew the mannequins were in an older episode I always though their first appearance was in 2005. I screamed, to say the least. Quite a surprise. I need to watch Classic Who....
+Cryer24597 I knew about most of those on the list, I just never realized just how many references there actually were. I had to look up the Macra though. Is that from one of Capaldi's episodes? I haven't watched new episodes for a long time
Nothing beats the weeping angels
The patients need to be added to this video. (Pre-fully upgraded mondasian cybermen)
It’s a good thing that thing in Listen wasn’t the Shy Guy
"Don't blink, don't breath, don't look... is there something I can do??"
"You can cry."
And then there's don't think from time heist :o
+Potsherd don't forget/The Silence.
+The Alwin The who?
'Hell, you're all going to be doing that.'
And look adorable doing it
