- In today's video, I solo hiked to the top of Mount Nokogiriyama, a very popular day trip hike from Tokyo. The mountain is located in Chiba prefecture, right at the tip of the Tokyo Bay peninsula. It provide beautiful views out on Tokyo Bay, Yokohama, Kanagwa prefecture and even Mount Fuji on clear days. It also features the regions's oldest Shrine, Nihonji, with many Buddhist relics and Japan's largest Stone Buddha Statue.

I’m watching this video after hiking the mountain on Jan 1st. Should have watched this before I believe. Got lost in between, but was able to quickly recover. It is indeed a great 1 day hiking. In winters, sky in Japan is clear, so I could see Mt. Fuji and also the Landmark Tower of Sakuragicho. Thanks for sharing your views. I don’t mind going again if I find a company.

Oh yeah in Winter the views must be awesome, hiking in winter while cold is generally so much better than summer for visibility!
