It’s a happy Saturday viewers.. can I just say that for someone who’s struggled a lot with anxiety panic attacks and general mental health struggles hearing dans voice and being able to watch this game and all the other ones back over the past few months have really helped me out. I hope to get to a game to thank you in person because on the nights when it’s a struggle to try and focus on positive things just hearing a voice helps thank you to Dan and the lads you’ve really been a help to me.
Good on ya, hope you make it there for a visit or two. It certainly looks to be a beautiful place and its always fun watching a bit of wally grade cricket (from a career wally grade player).
Thanks Lee - it’s very kind of you to say that our content is helping you through a rough patch. Stay positive, things will get better. You would be very welcome.
I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks too mate and have just managed to get back to cricket this season after taking a year out because of it. Getting there is the hardest part bud. Then eventually you will feel comfortable to the exposure. You’ll get there bud.
Brilliant to have you and the team back Dan. Entering into winter here (Tassie) - actually it’s been crazy extended summery type weather - looking forward to watching SCC this season. Thank you.
Great to have these back. I know they give what they see but how on earth could the umpire be sure Simon’s dismissal was boot first. I’ve watched it about 10 times. Didn’t impact the result but it grates on me. Thanks dan and kind regards from an ex batsman. (Might be different if I was from the bowler side of the moon)
Watching it it is impossible but close your eyes and you can hear the pad/bat sound. Having said that it could have been bat onto pad and then bat on ball and the umpire only saw and heard it once. Their umpire, I take it?
No - they are panel umpires. They were very good and it’s easy to review several times and reach a conclusion that is different to the spur of the moment. These things happen - and, don’t forget, the umpire is always right (even when he’s wrong) 😂
@@graemestarkey7524 nice bit of constructive thoughts following my comment. On reflection I’ve watched a few more times and yep it “could”have been foot first. The ump clearly saw it believed it did was confident he had it right and gave his decision which should be respected and I certainly wouldn’t want it any other way. However I think my point was that after looking numerous times it didn’t look clear to be me and as I explained as a batter I think my view is influenced by thinking if you going to be ruining my weekend and giving me out I’d want you to be 100% sure. Ha ha just a point of view that might not be right Nuff said He gave it thats it. Looking forward to seeing more next week.
Unfortunate result but it’s a long season with a few new faces it will take a few more training sessions and games for the team too gel! Great too see you guys back and I’ll be sure too sign up for the fantasy comp shortly
Really good to see Max make a debut and he seemed to do well for his age at this level. As always - you have the talent but perhaps stroke selection is a little less harder to discern. It is so easy from a chair in the living room to select the right shot :) Great to get the season underway.
Welcome back Dan. You wintered well. Great to get the first match under the belt. Good and not so good but early days. Will be signing up to Fantacty Cricket today. All the best for the coming season. Rob D
Here we are again. Some game management needs to be added to this team. Giving the oppo 30 more runs than they deserved and then throwing wickets when facing a less than four an over chase. One or two people missing from the line-up so I guess either they have moved, haven’t got going yet or got dropped. Also, the wet outfield usually favours the team batting second but I think the problem was more the uncut outfield. Shocking grounds work. Mike McNicol is a new player to me but looks like a good ‘un. Best of luck in the new season
No T today. He might have steadied the middle order. Hopefully returns for the first home game. Good to see the new young players coming through. Really nice to hear that Sandersteads cricket coverage from yourself Dan has soothing and medicinal side effects
Good game to watch - not the result you wanted. It's not easy to find the boundary this time of the year. Which clubs are playing in the Croydon T20 series...? As an ex Kenley player, I ight have an interest...!
Ah the world can start spinning on its axis again...nearly 10 days without a post from Sanderstead TV!!!! I was getting withdrawal symptoms. Not a good start to the season but its early doors! Good to see Max (the Viking Weasley) playing.Well done to Josh Mc for organizing the birth of his child in the off season! Something Mr Foley might have to work on!!!!.
Bummer, the lads looked good in the field, but the batting is still a wee bit on the iffy side. Great to be able to watch your videos again, Dan; they make my day every time.
This McNichol guy seems a good pick for a fantasy side. Bats and Bowls so points in either part of the game. As for the game, best go buy another Pilgrim in the bar.
Umpiring is very good in our league. I reckon there are more incorrect not outs than outs. That said, a decision made “live” is much tougher to make than one made with the benefit of slo-mo replays - these guys don’t need criticism and all decisions should be respected. The umpire is always right (even when he’s wrong!) 😂
Early season blues..... Sanderstead are most consistent. Carry on as left off last season and maintain that form for the new season 😀. Some would say they can only get better but knowing them for how they are I would say not necessarily.
Unsure of the theory of Matt Harris. Some of your subscribers do read tabloids, like myself. I also grew up reading the times. Doesn't make red top readers lesser mortals. We are all born equal!
Great to see you back Dan! Really need to get more circumspect against that new ball, 188 isn't a big total if you have your best batsmen making it from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th change bowlers. Don't know if you need to bring in some more defensive bats or just push a change of mindset for first 10 to 15 overs. Good to hear from Matt:)
Decent bowling performance, plenty of tidy stuff but the batting a let down - several needless wickets there. Simon is excused as it was clearly bat before pad, you could hear it, the umpire has had a mare there. Better application required when chasing a modest target on a slow outfield, push it around for one's and two's, you don't need to go for the glory shots.
It was long - I think many clubs have found it tough to get the big machinery out because we’ve had so much rain. Drove past this morning and it has been cut….
@@graemestarkey7524 Slow it down to 0.25x and zoom right in. He hits the ball with his bat, then the bat thuds into his front pad. Perhaps I’m harsh to criticise the umpire because he has to make a call on the spot, but I think he got this wrong.
Like myself and my wife, my iPad is not talking to my iPhone so posting multiple comments. The Ryan Sidebottom of Croydon looks like a prospect although the bowling coach needs to work on his lead arm on delivery. And I won’t comment on the flowing locks. Is Mr McN the overseas player? Some of the shot selection from Sanderstead was horrible.
He was brought in from our 5th XI to sun while Josh Stacey was stuck on a bus/train! Bloody hilarious - he’s a great guy. Watch the Sunday match and you’ll see him do some even better fielding 😂

Matt Harrison complaining at a perfect throw for that run out opportunity is killing me. A true legend 😂😂😂
Absolute legend
Staring at mid on 🤣🤣🤣
Interesting choice from the old whits batting Adam Clarke at 8... 🤔🤔
To be fair, in that line up he can bat anywhere.
What a joy to have your videos back miss them in the off season!!
Thanks - great to be back!
The guy marking his guard on a different wicket after hitting a 6 at 12.57 had me in stitches
Good spot! Hilarious - I know the lad well and I’ll be sure to give him some stick 😂
Lovely to hear the dulcet tones again. Looking forwards to another gentle summer.

Exactly, weekend cricket shouldn't be giving any pad first decisions there is just no way at this level you can be sure so why do it.

The umpire that gave it is on the Minor Counties and Countu 2nd XI list.
Any Panel umpire should be confident in making that call.

Certainly a pitch for the spinners and pie chuckers, I've never seen a ground with a terrace level before. Marvelous
Agreed - I love the raised area of this ground, they are great for filming.
We have one at our ground, The Mote (Maidstone) with a rugby pitch on top of a bank. They aren't common.
Good to see the old whits opening left armer still chucks it..
I think he’s well within the 15 degree limit - as is almost everyone these days.
Also the overseas reminds of Tricky. Well his action.
There’s a similarity. I reckon Mikey has more control and (dare I say it) brain! Love Tricki…..
Game cancelled due to a water logged outfield and so I live vicariously this week through Sanderstead!
Here’s to better weather soon. We are a sunshine team!

Great to see you back, missed the videos. As a Worcestershire man, I hope the Worcester trio have a good season.

So nice to see cricketers that are still in whites. Many other premier leagues have succumbed to the coloured pyjamas - so well done in Croydon!
Totally agree.

Great to be back. Yeah - Mikey is top draw!
Thought our bowling looked good. Sadly, just fielding practice for Old Whits. Mike McN a great find.
He really is! Bat and ball
If Harris carries on fielding like that he's a no brainer pick for the fantasy league
❤️
Certainly is
Class from Si after getting an absolute howler. That was one of the worst decisions I've seen in a long time.
On to the next one!
McNichol is a great pickup for the club. Missed seeing some great fast bowling after Jacko and Tricky left.
Yes, he’s a great addition with bat and ball. On the quicker Sanderstead tracks he will be very exciting.
Jacko has returned to Surrey and is playing for Sutton in Div one.

He certainly is. T was working - back next week.
Nice to see the league season under way - shame about the result. Maybe batting order needs careful thought. Onwards and upwards to next Saturday!
