I keep my penpal letters for the current year in my filing cabinet, but the previous year go in a box, so now I’m thinking I like your folder idea a lot! I do have a penpal journal where I keep a polaroid of the mail as it came plus some notes on theme, style, important life updates, addresses etc plus some little bits from each mail. I also have a “wall of fame” which I peg up pieces that I love to surround myself with. I have these up for 6 months then restart.. I’m in the process of doing my turnover too so this video is very timely Bec! I can see a trip to Officeworks in my very near future 😆
I like the “wall of fame” idea, maybe I can do something like that when my office is built! I had a lot of fun putting these folders together, touching the paper and rediscovering things I’d folded up inside the letters so they wouldn’t get lost (mail tags, postcards etc). Taking a Polaroid of the mail is a great idea!! But let’s be honest, I wouldn’t keep it up 😆
@@becwrites my instax was a bit of a splurge but it’s fun to send penpals photos with it too…I have a square one so when I’m taking my IG photos I take an extra one with more detail for my journal. I’m quite enamoured of your folder idea, just need to add it to my list of things to do!
What a great system! I need to look into acquiring A5 binders here in the US. Thanks for the inspiration! :) I tried something new this year and added letters to a journal insert. It’s quite fat already and I’m finding I’ve received more letters in the last quarter than will fit in there, but I’m going to do my best! Hehe. I do keep letters from people I’ve lost touch with in my folders/boxes per year. My mail organization is a hot mess. Hope you’re well! Miss you!!!
In the pen pal journal at the end do you place the ephemera and stuff randomly wherever you find the space or do you dedicate the entire page to a specific pen pal?
Great ideas for storing penpal letters and envelopes/ ephemera. Thanks for sharing! I currently have mine in an A4 display folder. I prefer the aesthetic look of the ideas you shared, especially the penpal journal 💕. It’s so beautiful. It has been many months since I have heard from two of my penpals. I’m guessing they are busy with life or aren’t sending anymore letters to me. What to do?
I thought about an A4, but I liked that a lot of my letter paper fit perfectly in the A5, so satisfying ☺️ Thank you so much for watching, glad you liked it!!
I love the A5 size idea. Do u find the sheet protectors stay sturdy? At the moment i have my letters stored in A4 display folders and i have found the sheet protectors are ripping and folding over on themselves which i find super annoying.
Yea it does make sense, thats what was happening with the a4 display folders. I bought some a5 yesterday so going to change all my penpal into them lol

@@becwrites It would be satisfying! You’re welcome. I did 💖

Yea I’ve had no problems with them: I actually like this size better in general as because they’re smaller they aren’t as wobbley if that makes sense
